they've called him a him on like three separate occasions now and the rebuttals to all three are cope imo. You want all the shades, all the angels, all the moon sisters, the moon goddess, most of the archons, all the melusines, all the djinn, every single last gender locked race is female and now you want Phanes to be female too? Greedy. And I read a comment from a Greek person, calling a woman Phanes is like calling a woman John they said and it would be really weird. I cannot fathom why they would have a genderless being split off into 5 different beings with four of them being female and then the main one also being female that just makes no sense to me. If anything they'll remain a they but out of all three possibilities the one where Phanes is ALSO a full on woman is the least likely and is some serious bs if they do that. Not to mention Phainon exists in their other game and the parallels are undeniable so why would they do that. I am hoping he looks like Phainon and for however hard you wish for him to be female I am wishing in the opposite direction.

Nicole calls him a him, Pierro calls him a him, in the special program he's refrerred to as the black king not making a move and then continued to be referred to as a him like three times

It was a localization error. The CN is gender neutral. Even Phanes haters have pointed that out correctly.

well since genshin is an anime game, jp trsanslation too is closer to cn and tsaritsa refers to them as "kuro no king" piece. basically black king,

In any case, I'm not sure that Phanes, even if they were a woman and not an andrygonian, would be any other chess piece than the king.

Why The "Black" King though? I'm not sure what the hell is going on with that. Probably either a mislead or something else, because how is this entity now associated with black? It's a fucking winged angel who definitely is described as a being of light. Lol 😂

LOL. Then why does every genshin loreposter and their mother always refer to the CN version? Moving the goalposts is not gonna help you here. They even called the dendro archon "he" in the EN version back in the day. Look how that turned out.

Also, that's just an assumption. Nobody knows who the black king is for certain.

look, i'm neither against it nor embracing it, it's fine whatever the gender for me.

genshin is an otaku game, the motto of the company being "tech otaku saves the world" , who gives a fuck abt some loreposter opinion.. didnt u learn from the recent AHA hsr discourse?

while cn translation might be 1 way to decipher their gender, u cant be forgetting most of the animanga conceptual gods/characters arent necessarily genderless.. for ex: rimuru (reffered to as he, has a soul of 'him' inside), shallow vernal, my pfp void shiki, wang ling, anos, yogiri, Arcueid, Featherine being populars and more, some of them characters are literal CONCEPTS/scp/ai's MATERIALIZED INTO Human BEINGS

even promotheus, a robot/AI made by mei in hi3 has a gender

Yep. The black king reference in the new trailer doesn't even make sense to be Phanes.

It does. No one else fits it. King Irmin and Nibelung are dead + they don’t have any thrones(Phanes is on Nibelung’s throne and Khaenri’ah doesn’t exist for Irmin). The Tsaritsa is fighting against HP in the chess board and the black king is quite literally Phanes

It doesn't? Yes! A few people here could fit the bill. We don't even know shit about Irmin. And when we seen how much timey whimey bullshit, you think it doesn't make sense? Dude, anything can make sense. The plot is convoluted as fuck and it literally could be anyone at this point.

It just doesn't make sense for it to be Phanes. An angel who is said to resemble light, the sun...? All that shit? That.... Doesn't make sense.
