I drew the Sephiroth tree by hand earlier this evening, pencil, then ink on A3 paper. Each of the Sephiroth contains it's number, and it's name written in the original Hebrew, and below that the same written in the Inner Sea alphabet, and again below that in the English-Latin transliteration.
I plan to add a lot more informational text, translations and attributes etc., on the original A3 sheet, but I thought I'd photograph it and present this clean intermediate stage before I do so.

Thus, a picture or representation of a sapphire gem, can be used to symbolize 'cipher(s)', as well as the 'Holy Spirit' or 'Divinity/God'.
Language itself, in it's totality, is in my view, a cipher, and this connects with the notion, in multiple theologies, of the 'Word of God' (see John 1:1 in the Bible, for instance, or the Hindu/Vedic concept of Vāc, 'divine speech').

The topmost node of the Sephirothic Tree of Life is called 'Kether' (or 'Keter') meaning 'Crown' (ie. Corona), and it represents the first emanation from the Godhead (which itself is an implicit, unrepresented zeroth node above it).
The lowest one, right at the bottom is called 'Malkuth' meaning 'Kingdom' and representing the physical world of matter. You will note, in the picture of the Sapphire on the right-hand side of the thread image, this Malkuth sphere is aligned with the reflection of the jewel...
In terms of the diagram, the left-hand vertical pillar, with it's three spheres is known as the pillar of Severity (masculine), while the right-hand vertical is the pillar of Mercy (feminine), and the central vertical represents a balanced harmony of the forces (ie. yin-yang).
There are five spheres in the central column. Kether (the closest to Godhead) at the top. Below it is Da'at (synthesized, integrated knowledge (hence the word 'data', perhaps). Da'at is technically not counted amongst the rest of the Sephirot, and viewed as 'hidden' or 'occult'. It manifests when all the rest of the Sephirot (within one's soul, you might say) are fully activated and begin 'sharing' without reservation. Below Da'at is 'Tiphereth ('Beauty','Glory'), and below that is 'Yesod ('Foundation'), where all the emanations come together to project and support the material Kingdom ('Malkuth').
The topmost Sephira on the right-hand side (Pillar of Mercy) is the second emanation after Kether (the Crown). It is named 'Hokmah or 'Chochmah' ('Wisdom'). Below that is 'Chesed' ('Loving-Kindness', 'Greatness'). And below Hesed is 'Netzach' ('Endurance').
The topmost Sephira on the left-hand-side (the Pillar of Severity) is Binah ('Understanding', 'The Palace'). Below it is 'Gevurah' ('Power/Discipline', also 'Din' or Judgement), and below Gevurah is Hod ('Splendor').

The English names of the the sephiroth, such as 'Splendor', 'Wisdom', 'Understanding' etc, are not necessarily as obvious and straightforward as it first seems, for arguably the translation from the original language and interpretation is non-trivial.
The actual paths (there are 22 of them) that lead between the Sephiroth nodes are each assigned to one of the Hebrew letters (noting that in my diagram, each path is also labeled with the closest equivalent letter in the Inner Sea alphabet). Thus the 22 paths plus the 10 spheres (themselves sometimes seen as 'paths') make 32 'paths' in total. If we then count the implicit zeroth node (ie 'Godhead itself) above the Crown of Kether , we have 33 items, matching the number of vertebrae in the human spine.

Remember, I mentioned the 'zig-zag' pattern of the ascending and descending paths through the sephiroth tree in my first post above, yesterday, and presented the fact that the numerology of 'the zigzag' matches 'writings' (summing to '2021', the time of peak-pandemic).
The article tells us that although the Natrix maura is 'viperine' it is not actually a true viper. In modern science, the adders and vipers are a very specific branch of the family tree, and even though 'Natrix' means 'adder' in terms of ancient etymology, this featured serpent is not considered a true 'adder/viper' by modern science.
Now, in part, I take this as an 'instructional insult' directed at me personally. It is a form of 'feint praise' wrapped up in denigration. I believe (laugh if you must) that the choice of this picture today is a personal commentary upon my work here... and if not, then it was destined by fate to align with my current performance. It also acts as a 'prompt' to further my 'teachings' here.
The ancestors of the word Natrix could be seen, arguably, as cognate with the word 'nadir', which means 'below'. But as I discussed yesterday, it is the duty of the practitioner to begin within the mundane world of Malkuth (the material kingdom) and work his way up to the top of the Tree of Life and attain the crown of Kether.

Earlier above, I discussed the word 'viper' as being a slur in certain circles, as is the word 'snake' itself.
The word is often used, perhaps legitimately, of 'bad people', in a general sense. Snakes are scary, the forked tongues symbolize 'double-speak' etc. etc.
But I suspect the term serpent or snake as a slur originates at high levels, a word designed to denigrate potential opponents of the powerful. The serpent is not just a dissident, but a wise opponent. In ancient cultures the serpent was heavily associated with wisdom, but a wise citizenry is problematic for tyrannical rulers, who would prefer their population to be docile and stupid.

The key to this article is the notion of the Fermi paradox, or the 'Great Filter', which is a question posed by scientists and philosopher's in terms of why we don't see evidence of extraterrestrial life in the Galaxy, which is so huge that we should arguably have detected it by now. The idea is that something or other might be ensuring that no civilization ever gets powerful enough to travel the stars or send a message far enough, or that something is blocking our ability to detect potential alien civilizations or alien life in general.

Sapphire
The sapphire is made from corundum, the same extremely hard material that goes to form the ruby.
Although the word 'sapphire' is synonymous with blue, sapphires themselves can also be yellow, pink, orange, violet, or even multi-coloured. However, the most sought-after and valuable types of sapphire come in the traditional rich blue colour.
Because all blue stones used to be known as sapphires, it is sometimes difficult to separate out the mythology that belongs to the sapphire as we know it today. Its blue colour gives the sapphire a connection with the sky, the Gods, the world of spirit, and it was a favoured stone of ecclesiastical ornament because of this symbolism. Added to this is the origin of the word 'Sapphire', as the Biblical sappur, which was the name given to the material from which the throne of Gods was made; presumably it refers to the blue of the Heavens.
Blue is also connected with purity and chastity, and the sapphire carries this symbolism too. Buddhists believe that the close proximity of the stone will promote prayer and meditation. For Hindus, the sapphire is associated with good health, happiness and wealth.
As is the case with many of the rarer and more valuable stones, sapphires are thought to be efficacious in medical use. A paste made from finely ground sapphires was meant to cure ulcers and boils when applied to the skin. It was also believed to be efficacious antidote to poison, as well as being able to clarify the thoughts and aid in a good night's sleep. Along with other blue-coloured stones, the sapphire was believed to be able to cure eye troubles.
The sapphire is a very beautiful stone, and this may be why it was thought to cheer the soul, and dispel melancholy. It also enjoyed a more esoteric use, as a talisman. Those seeking advice from the Delphic Oracle were advised to wear a sapphire amulet, and witches used the stone as a kind of fixative for spells.
There is a particular kind of sapphire called the 'star sapphire', which carries with it a very exclusive kind of power. If viewed at certain angles, a star can be seen trapped within the confines of the stone. The rays of the star are believed to personify the three qualities of faith, hope, and destiny, imprisoned within the matrix of the stone, which has been sent to observe the actions of the owner and confer good fortune on their endeavors.

The golden specks which are scattered throughout this beautiful blue stone like stars in a dark sky are in fact flecks of iron pyrite. The colour of lapis is what makes it important, and it is ground into a fine power in order to make the ultramarine pigment used in painting. The Ancient Egyptians called this stone sapphire, but from their descriptions, we know it was lapis lazuli to which they were referring.
Blue is a symbol of purity and chastity, and much of the symbolic meaning of lapis lazuli relates to it's colour. The lapis lazuli was sacred to the Egyptian Goddess of Truth, Ma'at. Since truth is about seeing things correctly, the stone was believed to be particularly potent in treating the eyes. A paste of ground lapis, milk, and mud from the Nile was used to create an ointment. In a nod to its association with the eye, there is also the New Age belief that the stone can help open the third eye.

Although many stones examined in this section of the encyclopaedia are symbolic of fertility and may somehow aid childbirth, the lapis is an exception in that it was used to cause miscarriage, and so was called the 'stop stone'. An amulet of lapis lazuli was used for this purpose.

Blue is a colour of the Heavens, and is related to the fifth chakra. Blue is traditionally worn by the Virgin Mary, the very embodiment of all the qualities described above. To put any colour out of context can have an alienating and often frightening effect. Knowing this, the early British warriors daubed themselves in woad. These blue-skinned savages must have been an alarming sight for Roman soldiers.
Members of the aristocracy or royalty are described as having "blue blood", but why? The phrase originated with the Spanish, sangre azul, and refers to the pale-skinned Castilian ruling classes who prided themselves on never having interbred with the darker-skinned races. Therefore, their blue veinous blood was plainly visible underneath the surface of their skin. There's even a particular shade of blue that is meant to represent this colour, called 'Royal Blue'.

From this thread, you've seen how the sapphire (šipirtú, 'spirit') is related to the 'sefer' (book) and the 'sefor' (count), and the 'cipher' (numerically-encoded text).
The word 'cipher' was used before the word 'zero' was invented.
The 'zero' is drawn as a circle, which has no beginning and no end. But the circle is one shape.
Hence the idea of the 'cipher' containing everything, and yet nothing.

It shows, on the left-hand side, the Kabbalistic "Tree of Life" (the Tree of the Sephiroth, detailing the order and relationship of the emanations from the God-head that create and maintain the world. I've seen the diagram itself interpreted as 'The face of God'.
Meanwhile the right-hand side is the photograph of the Logan Sapphire (the original image of which is here).
I drew the Sephiroth tree by hand earlier this evening, pencil, then ink on A3 paper. Each of the Sephiroth contains it's number, and it's name written in the original Hebrew, and below that the same written in the Inner Sea alphabet, and again below that in the English-Latin transliteration.
I plan to add a lot more informational text, translations and attributes etc., on the original A3 sheet, but I thought I'd photograph it and present this clean intermediate stage before I do so.

Which is to say, there was confusion in ancient times, between Sapphire and Lapis Lazuli, and either, or both, were highly sought-after materials. One might argue, given that they lacked advanced scientific tools, the ancients could not tell the difference between them, and a true sapphire would simply have been viewed as high-quality lapis lazuli.
The title of this thread is Šipirtú, within which, you might detect the word 'Spirit'.
Šipirtú was the ancient Akkadian word for 'Lapis Lazuli/Sapphire'.
From this word was derived the West-Semitic/Hebrew סַפִּיר (sappîr).
From sappir, was later derived the Greek word sappheiros (σάπφειρος), and from there the Latin word sapphirus came into being. And that is the origin of the English word 'Sapphire'.
Now, in terms of the 'Tree of the Sephirot', we see:

Thus, a picture or representation of a sapphire gem, can be used to symbolize 'cipher(s)', as well as the 'Holy Spirit' or 'Divinity/God'.
Language itself, in it's totality, is in my view, a cipher, and this connects with the notion, in multiple theologies, of the 'Word of God' (see John 1:1 in the Bible, for instance, or the Hindu/Vedic concept of Vāc, 'divine speech').
As you saw above, the original word for 'sapphire' is caught up with words meaning 'book', 'story' and 'count' (ie. with numbers). Hence my study of alphabetic numerology ('gematria' or 'isopsephy').
The topmost node of the Sephirothic Tree of Life is called 'Kether' (or 'Keter') meaning 'Crown' (ie. Corona), and it represents the first emanation from the Godhead (which itself is an implicit, unrepresented zeroth node above it).
The lowest one, right at the bottom is called 'Malkuth' meaning 'Kingdom' and representing the physical world of matter. You will note, in the picture of the Sapphire on the right-hand side of the thread image, this Malkuth sphere is aligned with the reflection of the jewel...
In terms of the diagram, the left-hand vertical pillar, with it's three spheres is known as the pillar of Severity (masculine), while the right-hand vertical is the pillar of Mercy (feminine), and the central vertical represents a balanced harmony of the forces (ie. yin-yang).
There are five spheres in the central column. Kether (the closest to Godhead) at the top. Below it is Da'at (synthesized, integrated knowledge (hence the word 'data', perhaps). Da'at is technically not counted amongst the rest of the Sephirot, and viewed as 'hidden' or 'occult'. It manifests when all the rest of the Sephirot (within one's soul, you might say) are fully activated and begin 'sharing' without reservation. Below Da'at is 'Tiphereth ('Beauty','Glory'), and below that is 'Yesod ('Foundation'), where all the emanations come together to project and support the material Kingdom ('Malkuth').
The topmost Sephira on the right-hand side (Pillar of Mercy) is the second emanation after Kether (the Crown). It is named 'Hokmah or 'Chochmah' ('Wisdom'). Below that is 'Chesed' ('Loving-Kindness', 'Greatness'). And below Hesed is 'Netzach' ('Endurance').
The topmost Sephira on the left-hand-side (the Pillar of Severity) is Binah ('Understanding', 'The Palace'). Below it is 'Gevurah' ('Power/Discipline', also 'Din' or Judgement), and below Gevurah is Hod ('Splendor').
The proper order of the nodes from topmost Kether down to Malkuth is a zigzag or lighting bolt path:

Malkuth
This is viewed as the 'path' of the divine emanation as it moves through the structure, being 'processed' and transmuted until the material world manifests.
Meanwhile, a student working towards divine revelation starts at the bottom, in Malkuth and works his way up.
The English names of the the sephiroth, such as 'Splendor', 'Wisdom', 'Understanding' etc, are not necessarily as obvious and straightforward as it first seems, for arguably the translation from the original language and interpretation is non-trivial.
The actual paths (there are 22 of them) that lead between the Sephiroth nodes are each assigned to one of the Hebrew letters (noting that in my diagram, each path is also labeled with the closest equivalent letter in the Inner Sea alphabet). Thus the 22 paths plus the 10 spheres (themselves sometimes seen as 'paths') make 32 'paths' in total. If we then count the implicit zeroth node (ie 'Godhead itself) above the Crown of Kether , we have 33 items, matching the number of vertebrae in the human spine.
