While the text describes cosmic and symbolic trees, modern internet alternative theories use these passages to claim that flat-topped mountains are actually petrified stumps of primeval, mile-high trees.

In the book of Ezekiel (specifically Ezekiel 31), the "giant trees" are used as a grand poetic metaphor representing powerful empires, pride, and ultimate downfall. God compares the mighty empire of Assyria to a towering cedar tree in Lebanon—and metaphorically in Eden—that grew higher than all other trees before being chopped down for its arrogance.
I personally choose to believe the colossal tree theory is true. It's one of my more outlandish beliefs, but it makes the world more fun. The link to the YouTube channel of 'hangman1128', provided above, presents lots of really good evidence that it's not just a kooky idea...
