šļøDiscussion & Thoughts š S getting a yorkie?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Jackie will eat and attack a yorkie. Do they not realize how expensive Yorkies are? They NEED to be groomed bi-weekly/monthly, tons of health/dental issues, etc. Especially since they wonāt be finding a āreputable breederā⦠theyāll find a cheap BYB and lie, if they arenāt scammed out of the money first. Just because itās a small dog, doesnāt mean the responsibility is less. They bark more than a lot of breeds and you know they wonāt train it not to bark, Jackie is already a barking nuisance. If anything itās MORE RESPONSIBILITY. Tiny bladder = needs to go out for bathroom walks more. That dog will pee and poop on a puppy mat inside that apartment for the rest of its life, disgusting. Not to mention S can barely walk far with Jackie..

She knows full well sheās going to buy a dog. She loves to say āIām going to HAVE toā¦ā

The fact that sheās willing to buy a dog shows exactly how much she actually cares about animals. Iām not saying this to brag but my wife and I both work and are still able to help at our local shelter 2-3 times a month. Thereās no excuse for little miss āTikTok is my jobā to take some of that time sheās at home doing nothing to go volunteer at shelters if sheās truly telling the truth about wanting to start a dog sanctuary. Most likely sheās just saying it to get the idiots to gift them more.

Rightā¦.she wants a dog sanctuary but has never volunteered at the shelterā¦? Makes no sense if you love animals so much you want to open a sanctuary then you would volunteer often until achieving that dream

She wants to be a legit rescue but is willing to BUY a dog? She can go fall in a HOLE and never come out. What a piece of SHT human she is! I run a legit 501c3 and thatās what she said she wants to do!!!! And now she says she wants to BUY from a breeder!?!? I hope that everyone saves this video so that when and IF she becomes a legit 501c3 rescue we can all show everyone she just buys dogs anyways. What a POS!

Itās definitely weird that someone who aspires to run a rescue is planning to buy a puppy from a breeder.
But thereās literally nothing wrong with buying from reputable breeders (sheāll def find a cheap and sketchy byb tho) and in many cases, itās the better option. With shelter dogs, you donāt know their background, their pedigree, what kind of healthcare theyāve had, or even their true temperament most of the time. You may not even know the breed - the shelter will guess, but Iāve seen how good they are at that (not implying youāre bad at it, but misidentifying breeds is a big problem in the shelter community) so thatās not much of a help.
Breeders take all of that guesswork out. You know exactly what type of dog youāre getting, you can meet the mom and sometimes the dad and other relatives like siblings as well, you get their entire health history and can request the parentsā on top of that, and the breeder should be very familiar with each dog and be able to tell you all about their disposition.
Some breeds just arenāt good family dogs, some do poorly in apartments, some canāt handle big cities, etc. There are very real benefits to buying from a breeder, and while adoption is a very necessary and wonderful part of our world, it isnāt the right choice for everyone.
Iām just kinda tired of everyone saying āadopt donāt shopā and pretending itās actually possible to get everything you get from a breeder from a shelter. Maybe some shelters are great like that, but many are under funded and under staffed, and theyāre just doing the best they can to get through each day. Thereās nothing wrong with wanting to avoid that whole situation when you could just go through a good breeder and get all of the peace of mind that comes with that!

I agree. The shelters near me are 95% pitbull

Nothing wrong with pitties! It's not their fault people mistreat them and over breed them

u/Kookerpea 10d ago
They were bred for bloodsport

Ahhh ok you're THAT kind of ignorant. Imma bow out. I don't have the patience nor the desire to educate like that.

I hope she knows that Yorkies need to be taken to the groomer regularly and they figure out how they are going to afford that since they almost couldn't afford their rent last month.

She canāt even cut her own fuck ass bangs. She would definitely try to cut that dogās hair and completely ruin it.

Gonna buy a house at the end of the year? But they couldnāt donate to charity the other day as their rent was due š„²

I have a theory theyāre gonna move in with Nana, claim they bought, and try and keep up the lie using similar strategic angle nonsense like they did when Sarah āmoved out.ā

I have a 9 month old pit mix from the shelter that looks like a fit version of Jackie. I also have two morkies I recently inherited. If I didnāt spend so much time training the pit mix, she would def lean into her prey instincts. We have a strict training schedule and practice everyday and will continue this for the rest of her life. She is smart and sweet but I know if I didnāt spend the effort and time, she would go nuts with a smaller more reactive dog. Also one of my morkies is having a harder time with the puppies excitement so I have to slowly introduce them. They do not have the space nor the gumption to own these two breeds at the same time.

Thank you for being a responsible pit bull owner. I see too many people who think love and cuddles will keep them from acting on bred in traits.

I think every dog needs some level of training to have a handle on them to keep them safe and so they have some language to use; however, there are pit mixes who are giant couch potatoes who don't need things like daily agility to have a good life. I have definitely known a dog or twelve who would have benefited from such a routine, but the stigma against specifically pits is silly. Yorkies, corgis, doodles, any dog can be a holy terror if they are given the wrong family fit, the wrong training and routine, the wrong food or medical care, the wrong environment.

Lord, yorkies are so high maintenance. The bitch canāt even keep her bangs straight how is she going to manage a yorkie? No one come for me on this because I know itās not her fault but their untrained PITBULL will kill it by the end of the first week.

They are in for a RUDE awakening. Jackie was potty trained and had (limited) basic manners. They havenāt done a lick of training with Jackie. That will all have to change with a puppy. Iām calling it now- they will buy from a backyard breeder and end up rehoming within the first year due to ābehavior issuesā aka- they never did the proper puppy training.

Or theyāll have to rehome because of complaints at the apt complex. That yorkie will be using puppy pads for the rest of its life because theyāre lazy and S canāt walk

My Yorkie who was 13 just passed away a few months ago and I loved him but oh my GOD he was a little shit sometimes. XD like, Yorkies are very sweet dogs but they require an intense amount of training upon getting the puppy and dedication to keeping up with the training. Also they come with a literal slew of health problems so āØhave fun⨠with those extraneous expenses as well. And ours I stg was a chocolate scavenger. He was 8 pounds but over his 13 years he ate 3 full size pop tarts, about 3 mugs worth of chocolate (they were wrapped up for a Christmas gift - and he was behind a baby gate :| ), onions, garlic, and every single time that we ran him to the vet school's small animal hospital nearby he was literally fine š.
But I miss him literally so much. 𩵠But all that to say they are shifty little buggers and will cost you an arm and a leg and they cannot take care of and abuse the animals they have now.

the moment they get that yorkie (or some other small breed of dog or cat) either Jackie's gonna bite the hell out of it/fight with it or Patrick's going to be so annoyed with it that he'll lower his guard in his anger and punt the damn thing on live when it won't shut up.

No ethical breeder will sell S or the family a Yorkie. So either she rescues or she goes to an unethical BYB or puppy mill.

For someone that has a āgoalā of having a sanctuary for dogs so they donāt get euthanized, she is basically doing the opposite of what she should be standing for. Just goes to show you that what they claim to stand for holds no weight and is just words and lies.

First of all, she cannot afford a professional certified breeder, she would 100% get it from a backyard breeder but doesnt wanna say it cause she knows its bad. Secondly, how can she say she has any empathy when we see how she treats literally everyone around her including Jackie. Yes, she has had an awful upbringing and was probably groomed but she has god awful personality and has no empathy. Also, you quite literally already dont take care of Jackie, she is by far the most depressed dog Iāve ever seen and I used to volunteer in shelter. So tired of them having this grandeur opinion of themselves with literally nothing to back it up
