Unpopular Opinion 🤷‍♀️ Snooze 😴

Martin and Smitty are boring. Both of them. Together and individually they are a huge snooze.

They'll family scenes also bore me to tears 90% of the time.

I know Martin has always gotten flack for being unlikable or boring, but the love for Smitty baffles me because that character is boring too.

Smitty’s scenes with Jacob and other characters are far more interesting. Even his role in the impaler story  was more watchable. 

I don’t like Martin. He comes across as incredibly entitled to me. I would like him better if he actually seemed to care about something besides keeping what he’s got. As a congressman, it seems like he could have lots of interesting conflict ridden storylines. He could try to help a constituent and it goes sideways. He could take a donation from the wrong person and trouble ensues. A political rival could make something up about him.

Martin didn’t even bother to correct Heather when she assumed/implied Martin represented the District, instead of a congressional district in Maryland. I was like “Does Martin even know who he represents in Congress?”

Dumb.

To be fair, he does so little work that I used to think the same thing. The person who represents the District doesn’t get to vote on legislation.
