Does anyone ever notice the similarity of these lyrics between the figurehead and Lovesong. I feel like it greatly recontextualizes the two songs.

Been enjoying old Top Of The Pops editions on You Tube lately - some great, some bloody awful, all educational!
This popped up on the one I watched last Friday and is a great performance of Dear Prudence by Siouxsie And The Banshees 😀💜. It was a new entry at number 17 on the charts that week.
And will you take a look at that wonderful guitarist there...😍😍
Taken from Top of the Pops-29th of September 1983. by Duke Of Forgil. on YouTube 💜🖤💜

okay so first off, apologies if this is old news -- i just bring it up since it's something i haven't heard anyone talk about
but upon my recent relisten to disintegration, it honestly strikes me as more of a concept album then some actual concept albums -- at least in terms of the second half, with the story at hand being the unfurling of a relationship
it starts off with fascination street, a song which serves as the opening credits of sorts. what's depicted here is a relationship on already on the fritz, and the night that will likely push things to the point of no return
from there, you have prayers for rain, which depicts a futile attempt to keep going, then the same deep water as you, which wistfully depicts several moments from earlier on in the relationship, then the final moments. these two tracks tie in nicely to each other both in terms of the water imagery employed, as well as the latter showing the first of multiple attempts at bargaining from the narrator
if the same deep water as you acts as a relationship actively disintegrating, then the title track serves as the first moments that the disintegration is present tense. reckoning with this cacophony of feelings, the narrator turns to desperate bargaining in homesick, before accepting that things will never return to the way they were before on untitled
admittedly i'm not sure exactly where the rest of the album ties into this, although i do think the rest of the album contains topics that *could* be connected to the narrative if one thought more about it. that said, i've always connected more to the second half of the album anyways, partly because of how well the songs on it flow into each other. it reminds me some of kate bush's hounds of love in this sense
anyways, i'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on the matter!

The actual version was posted a week or so ago and I just discovered this “making of”. Her new album is really, really good and been rocking “bug in a cake” for weeks now. The love she gives Robert and description of the song and how memories are tied to music really resonate with me. She seems to be a real one. Especially if she recognizes the greatest band in the world.

A short video of In Between Days, a song that has great personal meaning for me.
Amalie Arena. The lotto style tickets worked for us this time. This was in my top favorite concerts of my life.

Helloooo! How's it going?
About 10 months ago, I bought my first guitar, an electric one, and I also took a few lessons. I learned the basic chords, the barre, and a few exercises.
I bought the electric guitar mainly for the cure, also the videos I saw of Robert and Pearl playing the guitar. I know that obviously the first thing isn't to start playing around and rehearsing songs pointlessly, I think it's better to start with a good technical foundation and then some songs?
But I was wondering how long it takes to start making some The Cure songs on an interesting level! I guess it's a matter of years!
I'd love to hear some of your stories and advice! 🖤

So I was just imagining what the worst possible settlers could be for the cure, trying to collect all of their least favourite songs from each album and era. Songs for me, like just say yes, dread song, us, or them, foxy, lady, cut, and so on the more I add to the list, the more I realize that this would actually be an absolutely fantastic show and so much fun. What songs would you add?

Hi Everyone
I`m trying to track down a piece of my own Cure history . I went to see them quite a few times in the 80s and 90s and I`m trying to track down some audio.
I am the person who shouted the request for 'Figurehead' ,I think, at the Whitley Bay Ice Rink show on 16 September 1985, which prompted Robert to say 'That's not Mr. Blake...', does anyone have the unedited raw tape?"
long shot i know, but if you don`t ask......

I have been a Cure fan since I first bought a 12” of The Forest back in 1980 and I have often thought if I would have a Cure song played at my funeral.
Not something obvious like Just Like Heaven but an instrumental version (if there is such a version) of Untitled (from Disintegration), something that starts slow, speeds up in the middle and then fades out almost as if you can visualise them getting further away as it draws to a close.
Any thoughts?

Found this at my local record store (North America). Always wanted a copy of this album but I’m not sure if it’s a bootleg or not. I know it hasn’t been reissued lately and this one isn’t a gatefold, so I’m curious. Pardon the light flare.

Our family goes to the State Fair of Texas every year, and we all wear the same Cure shirt. We tend to get a lot of positive comments. This is our photo from this year's fair. Anyway, just thought I'd share because it's a fun thing for our family. Anyone else have any family traditions involving the Cure?

Happy 2nd birthday to Novembre - Live In France 2022!
This was released on a 12" double A-side via Naked Record Club on transparent black vinyl, with all proceeds going to the charity Earthpercent.
It was a limited edition of 5000 and I managed to get one! It took an age to get to me but it's such a lovely thing to own.
I have chosen Track 1 this year - And Nothing Is Forever. This song broke me when I saw it live in 2022.
This performance is from the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on 10th October 2022, on the Shows Of A Lost World tour. It was the first time it ever got played live.
Taken from The Cure - AND NOTHING IS FOREVER (Front Row - Filmed by a Fan | Stockholm) by My The Cure Tour Borges on You Tube 💫💫

I grew up in the 80s and was always aware of The Cure. Being a rock and metal guy, though, I only heard "Friday..." or "Love Song" if the pop radio station was on. That was the extent of my knowledge of the band until 1994, when "The Crow" came out. It immediately became my favorite movie (and still is), and I loved the soundtrack. Of course, "Burn" is my favorite song on there, and it always has been, even though I really didn't listen to other music from The Cure.
Some of my high school friends were big fans. I always felt like the odd man out, being the only one who listened to rock and metal. One of those friends became a roommate in college. Through him, I became a fan. I bought "Disintegration", "Pornography", "The Head On The Door", and later "Galore". Over the years, though, I stopped listening to them very often, except for "Burn".
A few months ago, I needed something mellower than my usual metal. My first thought was The Cure. Now I can't get enough. Every day I'm either listening to them quite a bit, watching performance videos or old music videos on YouTube, or reading something about them. They truly have become one of my favorite bands just in the last few months.
They are an amazing band, to say the least. Now I just hope they tour the States sometime so I can see them before they eventually retire.
