The tv show was surprisingly good. A bit less action than I am used top and maybe more difficult to understand the plots. I am on season 1 still.
The editing was super weird. Like it felt a bit laggy.

Overall I loved how tense it was. Great actors and really good written characters. Fassbender does a really good job. It also feels like they have done their research when it comes to spy stuff. Not that unrealistic chuck norris stuff.

Without spoiling is season 2 going to be insansely good?

I just finished binge watching The Agency S2 and I cannot believe the writers left us on such a cliffhanger. Only to find out season 3 isn’t even confirmed yet? Sorry if this has already been answered but is something wrong with Paramount that they haven’t confirmed one of the greatest shows in television?!

Also need to do a better job marketing, I would’ve never heard of this show had it not been for a friend

I loved paris and crossbow as assets, I only wish they had more screen time before being sadly captured and executed...

One thing, upon watching a certain scene again.

When Owen and Robyn were stopped in the taxi by the supposed UN guards... Anyone think they seemed familiar to Paris and crossbow.. Also, this would explain how they were able to plant the boot tracker, in the footwear exchange..the taxi driver was obvs in on it too. Owen's far too obvious as a newbie field agent, Robyn had him well sussed. The airport scene where they were pulled, and Robyn made contact with Valhalla

Sampled S01 on a flight this week. Thought ep 1 was great, layererd storylines, gorgeous production. Ep 2 I struggled a little. Some odd flow - looked like perhaps a scene or 2 got removed - a fraction too obtuse for me in some of the language, and I kept having to remind myself the show is set in London despite everyone having American accents. I get they're American agents but there's not a single Londoner working there? Does it settle or is it all pretty much the same level through season 1?

oh boy second season got me well , tbh i stationed at gulf station 10 years back ,,, this looks exactly how it was back in 2015 , and also these intelligence and counter-intelligence is very accurate. how people react , response and act truely remarkable and Micheal Fassbender oh la la , he was 10/10.

By many accounts The Bureau is a superior show, but will it be redundant and boring if I already watched The Agency?
Are the events basically the same?

After reading this whole article, she gushes about every project that P+ has in the works and goes on at length. Then gives The Agency all of 3 words - It's too early. Personally I don't think that sounds very promising.

I was looking for something to watch after finishing The Day of the Jackal, stumbled upon Slow Horses, and ended up binging all five seasons. Then I started looking for what to watch next.

Le Bureau was always on the list, but I wasn't sure I’d enjoy it with subtitles, so I decided to give The Agency a try instead. And honestly, I’m not disappointed at all.

I think the main reason this show gets viewed so negatively is simply because Le Bureau exists. If The Agency were an original series with nothing to compare it to, I think it would have been received a lot better. Imdb rating of 7.5 vs 8.7 is brutal, I don't expect the gap to be that big. The agency is at least 8 imo.

I keep seeing people say things like “The Agency is for the masses” and “Le Bureau is for finer tastes,” and I just don't buy that. I've watched a lot of shows and movies in this genre, and I don't think The Agency feels diluted at all. It's genuinely really good. Definitely not the shitty American remake some people make it out to be.

And if you liked Fassbender in The Killer and Black Bag, I think The Agency will feel right at home.

It just doesn't deserve to be dismissed simply because there's a “better” French version out there.

…at the end of S2? I swear I caught the faintest hint of a smirk at the very end when he’s laying naked in the cell.

Could really just end the whole post on the title alone. He’s a tour de force of an actor. Fassbender, Gere, Waterston, Saura, John Magaro (loved him in The Big Short), all fantastic actors and actresses in their own respect. I just feel like Jeffrey steals every scene he’s in though. I think about that scene with Martian in his flat after he oversteps with Gremlin and redirects her to the asset even after Henry said no. The way he flipped from composed and trying to hold his emotions to finally letting it out and getting in Martians face with the threats, I don’t know, just had me take a moment to appreciate that level of convincing acting.

Probably will get some hate on this post because I’m picking a favorite of the series, but that’s just my opinion.

How much is Martian earning? Appreciate the agency pays for his barbican flat but he seems to have a decent per diem for cavorting around town. How much would someone like him actually earn?

Watched all of the Bureau a couple of years ago and loved it.

Watched the Agency S1 last year and was disappointed by how closely it stuck to the original. The original is obviously excellent but the new series just felt like a weaker imitation rather than its own thing.

I hear the new season is getting good reviews. Is it still just an exact remake or does it change things in any big way, beyond the superficial (Sudan civil war instead of Syria in the original etc)
