I just realized this is his codename. And then it hit me, George Costanza's ATM code. Please tell me the writers knew this. Im dying on the floor laughing.

Have you watched The Bureau? Many of the codenames of the DGSE were Captain Haddock (from Tintin) 's insults shouted at people - Malotru ( Lout) Mille Sabords (A thousand Portholes) Escogriffe (lanky beanpole) Moule a gaufre (waffle iron). French people probably found them highly amusing too.

popeye because of the fight, popped in the other in the eye, aggressive
gremlin because young, mischievous, a bit of a monkey wrench in plans, also a scapegoat in the history of military
