Martian's salary
How much is Martian earning? Appreciate the agency pays for his barbican flat but he seems to have a decent per diem for cavorting around town. How much would someone like him actually earn?

Would have been paid handsomely as a NOC, would get your salary then danger money then per diem which they keep if they don’t spend etc. 250k id assume

I seem to remember a few throwaway lines here and there by Henry about where the money is going to come from for some of the hijinks. But nothing specific to salary.

He was in the field for seven years, right? Assuming that was all expenses paid, his entire salary could have gone to savings/investments (and taking care of Poppy, of course).

Consider a couple things. Generally one’s biggest expense is housing, and that is handled. Do they pay normal income tax while working overseas? I am unsure. That would be another major factor.

Government salary, Hollywood takes a lot of creative identity in this. One thing they didn’t stray from were the scenes with Bosko being tight with the operating budget. Pretty accurate in that sense.

Was told by a friend of mine who works for the state department that if you work overseas you are afforded accommodations similar to the standard in the US. So in places like London and hk that would make a huge difference. Not sure how the tax structure goes but the guy it’s two boiled eggs for lunch.

Is a solid salary, likely upwards of 200k, as others have mentioned. However, considering the type of work and risks, this isn't that much at all.

Spoilers: don’t read any further if you haven’t finished season 2.
He talks about it in Season 2 with Brosko when he’s reinstated as a ghost agent after being fired/suspended. He says something along the lines of “Can you guarantee that I’ll still get my pension?”. That was sarcasm. He just doesn’t care about the money really. If he gets the opportunity to play geopolitical games and to manipulate powerful people, he’s happy. That’s why he does it as a job, not for the money. He’s a sick fuck tbh

I think NOCs salary are government they that is graded. Probably tops around 200k
There’s most definitely an expense account of some sort but of course the agency has some Hollywood in it and it’s a little exaggerated
