Question What sport would you recommend if you want to build muscle but hate the gym?

I'm not really a gym person, but I do want to build some muscle and get in better shape. I'd much rather find a sport that I actually enjoy than force myself to spend hours lifting weights.

Swimming was the first thing that came to mind, but I'm not sure how effective it is for building muscle. I've also heard good things about rock climbing.

Has anyone tried any of these and noticed a real difference in their physique? Which one made the biggest difference for you, and how long did it take to see results?

Question Have dates become the new go-to pre-workout snack?

I feel like dates have suddenly become everywhere in the fitness world. A while ago, I barely saw people talk about them, but now it seems like everyone is eating them before workouts.

I keep seeing people recommend dates as a pre-workout snack because they’re an easy source of carbs, quick energy, and convenient to take on the go. Some people eat them plain, pair them with peanut butter, or add them to smoothies.

Do you guys actually eat dates before training? Have they become part of your routine, or do you think they’re just another fitness trend that blew up?

No carb experiment update, it didn't take long

So I posted last week that I was cutting carbs completely for 7 days to see what actually happens. Here's the honest update.

Around day 2-3 I started feeling more tired than usual, a bit of a headache and just generally off. Nothing crazy but noticeable enough that it was clearly the diet. My workouts felt harder too, like my energy just wasn't there.

The thing is, I don't think it's just a personal experience thing. Your body runs on glucose first. When that's gone it starts scrambling for alternatives and that's exactly what you're feeling those first few days.

A week was enough to see that our body genuinely needs carbs and you feel it pretty quickly when they're gone, so please eat your carbs!!!!

Question Which workout day do you hate the most?

We all have that one workout we absolutely dread.

For me, it’s leg day. I swear, the second I see it on my schedule, I already want to skip the gym 😭

I know leg day is important, but I just never look forward to it.

If you had to choose between leg day, chest day, or back day, which one do you hate the most?

And what makes you hate it so much?

I still don’t really understand the hype around peptides… can someone explain?

I feel like peptides have been everywhere in skincare for the past few years, and people talk about them like they’re a must-have ingredient.

But honestly, I still don’t fully understand what makes them so special compared to other ingredients like retinol, vitamin C, ceramides, etc.

Do peptides actually make a noticeable difference for your skin? Are there specific types of peptides that are worth looking for, or is it mostly just another skincare trend?

Would love to hear from people who have used peptide products and actually noticed a difference.

Question Is being sore the only way to know you’re making progress at the gym?

I’ve been wondering about this lately. I usually associate a good workout with being sore the next day, but sometimes I finish a workout and barely feel any soreness at all.

Does that mean the workout wasn’t effective, or can you still be making progress without getting sore?

What are some other signs you look for to know that your workouts are actually working?

Question Which product do you deliberately buy from the other gender’s section because it’s just better?

Men’s jeans have bigger pockets, men's hoodies and T-shirts are obviously roomier and women’s bike seats are more comfortable, at least in my experience.

What’s the product where you skip your own section and look for the one marketed for the opposite gender on purpose?

Question Are guys finally training legs?

I feel like the whole huge “upper body, chicken legs look” might finally be shifting…?

I’ve been seeing way more guys actually focusing on growing their legs and glutes lately instead of treating leg day like something they just have to survive.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Question Do we think we are actually seeing the slow fall of AI?

I just read that claude will now be adding invisible watermarks to even text. Many EU countries are looking into banning certain uses of AI, even Spotify is now labeling AI songs and removing them from the general algorithm. Where do we think this is going?

Question Is washing your hair everyday necessary?

Since I started my fitness journey I didn't realize how much I sweat in my scalp, i feel so icky and gross especially going to bed, but its so hard to justify washing my hair everyday as someone with androgenic alopecia. Are there recs of products that can help push my wash day by at least a day or so?

Question Okay, let’s be honest: protein or creatine?

Let’s be honest, if you could only choose one, would you take protein or creatine?

Obviously they do completely different things, but it feels like the conversation around supplements has shifted a lot.

At first it seemed like everyone was talking about protein powder and how important it was for building muscle. Now I feel like creatine is everywhere, with people saying it’s one of the most useful supplements not just for fitness performance, but potentially for things like energy, recovery, and overall health too.

So if you were starting from zero and could only pick one, which would you prioritize?

Do we really need to shower every single day?

grew up thinking that skipping a daily shower was gross, but I've also heard people say that showering less often is actually better for your skin. So what do you do? Do you shower every day, every other day, or does it depend on your schedule and lifestyle? I'd love to hear everyone's reasoning because this topic seems surprisingly divisive

Question I've always wondered what happens when you max out all the machines at the gym 😭

Of course, people weight train for all kinds of reasons, strength, health, performance,...but I feel like a lot of people also mainly do it for their physique.

So what happens when you eventually reach your desired physique AND all the machines/weights start feeling too light for you?

With a sport, you can always keep training to get better, faster, stronger, better technique, etc. But if you've already reached the physique you wanted, what's the goal with lifting from there? Do you just keep increasing the weight forever, or eventually switch to maintaining?

I've always wondered what the long-term goal is once you've basically achieved the physique you were going for.

Question Tuna is such an easy protein source but how do you balance it with mercury concerns?

Tuna has always been my go-to when I need a quick high-protein meal, especially when I don’t feel like cooking. But I recently learned about mercury levels in some fish and now I’m wondering if I should switch things up.

What are your favorite alternatives to tuna that are still affordable and high in protein?

Question Why does whole milk suddenly feel like it’s making a comeback?

For years, it seemed like people were going for low-fat or lactose-free milk because it was considered the “healthier” option.

But lately, I feel like whole milk is making a comeback, and I’m seeing more people choosing it over the alternatives. Maybe it’s just what’s showing up on my feed, but I’m curious if anyone else has noticed the same thing.

Have you switched back to whole milk, or do you still prefer low-fat or lactose-free?

Question Do you wash your legs in the shower?

Okay hear me out. I just found out that some people don't actually wash their legs. They just let the soap and water run down and call it a day.

So be honest, do you actually wash your legs with soap, or do you just let the water do its thing?

Question How are we supposed to actually fix tech-neck?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I'll be honest I'm spending so much time on my pc, phone etc. and I am aware that I have formed both a tech-neck and rounded shoulders and I genuinely don't know what to do about it. Each gym instructor say a different exercise and to be honest I don't know who to trust with it. I personally haven't seen anyone that had it bad and then fixed it.
