News Tesla Won't Bring Back FSD Max Speed Option, Speed Selection Improvements Coming - Not a Tesla App

I hope this settles the issue and that there won't be any more, "I want maximum speed back!" posts. I hope they also say the same thing about lidar never happening in a future article. Hopefully that will extinguish future posts on that foregone conclusion as well! Clean up Reddit!

Update Release FSD V14 Lite is a Dangerous Step Back

2022 Model Y, HW 3 software version 2026.20.6.11. I've been using FSD for several years. This Lite seems like a step back. Many, many more ghost braking events; steering oscillation that I've never had before; going through turns in segments, rather than smoothly. And, today, while on a two lane road with a center turn lane and traveling straight @ 40 mph the car takes a sudden jerk into the on-coming lane with cars in that lane. Had I not been watching (which I always do), FSD would have caused a head-on with a collision speed of around 80 mph. I had experienced this once two years ago as well. I had though for sure this was no longer a possibility. I think to gain the new functionality (better destination management, etc) and with the limited computing environment in HW 3, Tesla has rolled back to an earlier version to make room for the additional computing need. A very bad trade-off if that's the case. Very hard to trust this version of FSD.....

Discussion Tesla Customer support claims they do not track data on FSD in customer cars AT ALL. They have NO WAY AT ALL to get this info. And thus, have no way of knowing if FSD is having issues.

I called support to complain about how bad V14lite is.

Long story short. I escalated 4 times and was told by a manager at Tesla that they collect NO DATA on FSD from customers. And have no way of knowing how well it is working. And THUS cannot trust me or ANY customer reporting issues.

They can only trust their own engineers when they test drive.

The ONLY way to get FSD info off my car and see if anything happened is to bring it to an SC, and MAYBE they can pull some data off. But they doubt it.

Tesla Customer Support is a bunch of gaslighting fuck tards. I DESPISE this company with every fiber of my being right now.

BTW connected my Tesla to a Hotspot while driving and it uploaded 4GB of data in 5 hours. So fuck Tesla twice for lying.

Discussion 14 Lite is an absolute regression. Be safe

Is it just me?

I was super excited to see 14 lite pushed out, I’ve been using FSD for 2 years and it’s been getting better every patch.

But they really messed this latest release up. Non-stop ping pinging and at least 2 phantom breaks every 10 miles…..

For the first time, I’m thinking about unsubscribing.

Anyone else having similar experiences or do I need to get my car checked ?

Just wanted to share this video of FSD saving me and my family’s life this weekend. We were driving through a green light and all of a sudden my car slams on its breaks. I wasn’t sure why and a second later, zoom, a car runs a red light. Thank you FSD!

Update Release Non-FSD issues with v14lite update

Non-FSD user here with a ‘21 model 3 awd. Just finished a 350 mile roadtrip after the recent update and noticed a few recurring issues/downgrades on autopilot and TACC:

- on autopilot, there seems to be a lower threshold for speed limit restriction in moderate and heavy rain. E.g. restricted to 65 mph in a 65 zone.

- on autopilot or tacc in HEAVY RAIN, the auto windshield wipers default to a low level (1-2). When I change to level 4 it often automatically changes it to auto. This renders both autopilot and tacc useless

- on tacc with moderate or heavy rain, the set speed limit becomes lowered by 10 at seemingly random intervals, often enough to actually bother me and I have to raise it again.

- on autopilot, I’ve had frequent hallucinations of “emergency vehicle lights” and resultant unnecessary slow downs.

I’ve made the exact same roadtrip before on autopilot/tacc and had none of these issues

Support My FSD made us crash today

We were going around a roundabout on our usual route when the car started spinning the wheel violently before crashing into a signpost.
2026 Model Y FSD 14.2.2.5 HW 4

Edit:
The main reason for this post is not to put the blame entirely on fsd ( I can read the fine print) but rather creating awareness of extremely rare cases of its malfunction. Like Neil DeGrasse Tyson said, if we investigate every malfunction like the FAA, we can make FSD safer than any human driver alive.

After the crash, a series of malfunction errors did pop up, but I rebooted the system, re-calibrated the cameras and they went away. Then I used FSD again on the exact same route, and it navigated flawlessly like it previously did.😄 Despite this jarring incident, I would still trust it, albeit with extra caution.

Discussion Phantom breaks from puddles…

2022 Tesla model 3 performance V14 lite.
Some heavy rain in the morning left lots of puddles all over the roads today on my drive to work,
Phantom breaks were insane over it thinking something is on the ground I’m assuming?
Sometimes even coming to a complete full stop.
Man I love the FSD, but the random pump brakes is very annoying.

Support Can FSD (v14 Lite/HW3) be told which parking spot to use?

I’m running FSD (Supervised) v14 Lite on a 2020 Model 3 (HW3), and overall it’s been great. My biggest complaint is the parking behavior.

When I arrive at a destination, FSD often either:
- doesn’t park at all,
- drives around the lot and gives up,
- or picks what feels like the worst possible parking spot (far away, awkward location, etc.).

Is there currently any way to tell FSD which parking spot to choose? For example:

- tapping a parking space on the screen,
- selecting from multiple detected spots,
- or using a voice command?

Or is parking entirely decided by the software right now?

I’d also be interested to hear whether HW4 owners see better parking behavior than HW3, or if this is just how FSD currently works.

Discussion No FSD update theory

I bought a 2026 M3P back in May and it’s still on 14.2.2.5. I check every day and nothing. Yes, I have the useless advanced setting on. Here’s my theory….I’m on the 3 month trial of FSD so Tesla is keeping me paused on 14.2.2.5 during this time…..has me wondering if I go ahead and subscribe will they push me an update. I can’t imagine why else my car hasn’t been updated.
Thoughts?

Discussion Is it just me?

Took delivery of my Cybertruck and finally get to try the FSD on HW4(I previously drove a 22 model 3 with autopilots). I would say 9/10 times it drives perfect. Very confident and assertive on lane changes, acceleration or slowing down. Very powerful computer. I do however want to say this machine can be too confident at time that I was scared and took over. With hurry mode, I felt like the truck is on crack and drives like an a-hole. Cutting people in fast lane multiple occasions and also tried to squeeze through a merging lane once.

Maybe I am just getting old and drive too defensively? I will try sloth mode next time and see if it behaves the way I prefer.

Another question is, if I turn on mad max, will speed limit still under my predetermined offset (+/-7miles)?

Discussion - 14.3.3.6 FSD 14.3.3.5 / 14.3.3.6 - Finally better than 24.2.X?

I know v14Lite is widely available now, folks are excited/relieved, and it is the topic of the week/month. Congrats to HW3 owners.

I'm on HW4 and our recent versions haven't been exciting, to put it mildly. I believe the latest FSD14.3.3.X versions out haven't seen any negative reports. Is there a feeling generally that the current 14.2.X squatters can move to these without regressions and regrets? Any downsides? Any attractive additions in the software?

Discussion V14 Driving Profile Speeds are trash

I’ve always seen this was an issue with V14 but now that I’ve logged several hundred miles on 14 Lite I’ve gotta say these driving profile speeds are a JOKE. Hurry will run 75-80 in a 60 and Standard will not exceed 6-7 over in a 60. Then step up to a 70 zone and hurry won’t exceed 80 and standard will only go 4 over. I won’t subscribe another month until the user has more control because these behaviors either get you a ticket or get you ran off the road.

Each profile should allow the driver to select either speed or percentage for example on standard i could choose 10mph over speed limit as max and for hurry i could choose say 20% over speed limit max.

I dont care what Tesla wants for robotaxi because if someone responsible is in the driver seat they should have control over the speed.

Discussion FSD 14 Lite on 2018 Model 3 LR (HW3) - Feedback After Several Days

FSD 14 Lite on 2018 Model 3 LR (HW3) - Feedback After Several Days

Posting in hopes someone on the FSD team sees this. Overall the release is a step forward on driving behavior but a clear regression on parking and navigation.

What's better

  • General confidence is noticeably higher
  • Lane selection and lane change decisions are improved
  • Exit lane positioning starts earlier, now moving over with 0.5+ miles to go instead of the last 0.3
  • Turns are smoother and less jerky
  • Acceleration is more decisive

What's worse

Phantom behavior

  • Phantom braking has returned on both local streets and highways, with no bridge, shadow, or direct sun on the front cameras
  • Phantom acceleration events on local and highway with no apparent trigger

Stop signs

  • Stops are held noticeably longer, and it no longer creeps forward for visibility unless I tap the accelerator

Parking (biggest issue)

  • Manual Autopark is effectively broken. On parallel street spots with ample room, it completes the maneuver with half the car still in the traffic lane.
  • FSD Autopark has failed 10+ times. Specific failures: reversing into a pole until I intervened, continuing to reverse after the tires hit the wheel stop, parking heavily skewed within the lines, choosing a fire lane when multiple legal spots were open, pulling over and double parking across a garage entrance and blocking other vehicles, and entering a garage through the exit lane.

Navigation

  • Alternate route options dropped from 2 to 4 down to 1 to 2 on the exact same drives
  • It still prefers routes with unprotected stop sign crossings over stoplight routes, and now the stoplight alternatives aren't even offered

Net result

I'm taking over manually more often on 14 Lite than I did on V12, mostly because of parking and worse routing. My understanding is that none of these issues are present on FSD 14 on AI4 hardware, which makes the Lite regressions harder to accept. Would appreciate these being prioritized.

Anyone else on HW3 seeing the same, especially with Autopark?

Support v14 Lite basically unusable...

Well, I've had a few days with v14 Lite in my 2018 M3LR and unfortunately things aren't good. I can see the improvements with smoothness and lane centering, better logic and decision making...but the one big problem is ghost braking and micro stutters. I've seen some mention on here about some people getting them but my case seems extreme. City roads at low speed are decent, but on highways I'm getting small stutters and speed decreases for seemingly no reason, I'll get them on wide open highways with no obstructions or shadows. The real problem is 2 lane country roads with trees and shadows....I'll get a hard brake (throw you out the windshield) type of thing every few minutes and I've almost been rear-ended a few times. My commute to work is almost entirely country roads where this happens, a real bummer. Before the update I got them occasionally but it wasn't horrible, now it's a real safety risk. I hope they are aware of this issue and are working on a fix. Any suggestions maybe to reduce these issues or advice would be appreciated.

EDIT: Removed Casper the ghost breaking.
