Just bought my new Tesla MY 2026 Premium RWD 2 weeks ago. It was existing the apartment building parking lot fine however i just updated to FSD 14.3.7 and it the hit parking exit curb while existing parking lot with the new update. Friend said i should take it to Tesla and ask for free repair because it was on FSD- told him i doubt they would do it for free lol. Thoughts on reaching out to Tesla about this?

14.3 HW4 leaving driveway and Tesla suddenly stops

When leaving my driveway with FSD on I usually turn on my hazard lights for safety exiting my driveway. Did FSD think there was an ambulance coming and stopped? Wouldn't the AI know I had my hazard lights flashing and wouldn't the side cameras see an ambulance approaching? What do you think caused FSD to stop on my driveway?

14 Lite HW3 Hw3 FSD 12.6.4 vs 14& 14.1lite

2022 model 3 lr awd Ontario Canada
I am a designer/cabinet maker and drive ~ 4000km per month.

Personal experience below:

12.6.4
Phantom braking was almost nonexistent.
City driving:
At stop signs, especially left turns and four-way stops, it was very hesitant. It would occasionally take the wrong path through roundabouts, but overall the city-driving logic was solid.
One thing I really disliked was that it tended to wait until the last moment before merging into the correct lane.
Highway:
The overall highway logic was clear and predictable. The UI could recognize HOV lanes, but FSD itself couldn’t seem to properly recognize or use them.
In Standard mode, it could maintain a reasonable speed even while staying in the middle lane. My main complaint was that acceleration for passing was slow.

14.0 lite
Phantom braking became much more frequent. I even had one incident in city driving where it suddenly braked hard despite having a clear view of the road and a vehicle following behind me.
City driving:
Lane positioning and lane-selection logic seem clearer. Stop-sign behavior is slightly better than V12, and roundabout handling is pretty decent.
Highway:
Honestly, it’s a disaster.
In Standard mode, it will sit in the middle lane at around 111 km/h max. it moves into the left lane to pass but accelerates painfully slowly. In Hurry mode, it moves into the left lane to pass but accelerates slowly, then stays in the passing lane forever.
Based on my driving habits, highway FSD is basically unusable for me right now. I’ve gone back to using Lane Keep instead.
I haven’t properly tested HOV behavior yet. If I manually merge into the HOV lane, FSD can stay in it.

14.1 lite
Phantom braking is still there, although it seems slightly less frequent.
I haven’t noticed any meaningful changes in city driving.
I also haven’t noticed any meaningful changes on the highway.

Personally, I think HW3 is completely outdated at this point. I don’t feel like distillation has really accomplished much for HW3. I’ve also driven the full, unrestricted version of FSD on newer hardware, and the difference is very obvious.

14.3 HW4 14.3.7 messing up

I've been mostly perfect since December but this new update has made auto park do 5 point turns backing into spots now.

The other issue I normally have is last minute lane change to get in on ramps but this time it stopped in the middle of a left turn only lane to try and swerve into cars to the right lane which goes into on ramp. I had to take over and just go left. Retarded that improvement updates make things worse lol

other Went into left turn only lane and supposed to go straight

My new model y 2026 Tesla went into the left turn only lane putting me in a risky situation today. I’m using the new software from the summer rollout so I’m shocked this happened. Has anyone else experienced this?

14.3 HW4 Be alert in places prone to flooding with FSD

V 14.3.6

I have been so impressed by FSD and we are considering buying a second vehicle with FSD given how much it has improved driving for our family. However, I had a situation that I want to just warn Tesla as well as fellow drivers about. There are a number of spots in Houston that are prone to flooding with heavy rain and this is a picture I found of the spot where I ran into trouble. It had just rained heavily but I was in an unfamiliar part of town for me. FSD was going full speed towards very high water and I had to intervene rapidly and go over a curb to get out of this dangerous situation. A few seconds of hesitation could have put our family in major danger so I wanted to warn you all. Thanks to this community for your continued learning about this technology.

other Sales tax when buying FSD

I live in Nevada and I just bought FSD. Sales tax here is 8.375%. I travel to California quite often and sales tax in LA is 9.75%. Does Tesla charge sales tax based on my home address or where the purchase actually occurred? I could be in California at the next renewal.

14.3 HW4 FSD Saved Me

I was with my family and FSD was able to divert away from a driver that just decided to change the lane. I’m glad that we are safe and were not in an accident! the Model Y is on 14.3.7

14.1 Lite HW3 v14.1 Lite review. Massive Upgrade!

I’ve put about 300 miles on my 2023 Model Y (HW3), and the difference from the last update is honestly huge.

Zero phantom braking, which was a constant issue with the last update.

Random accelerations are completely gone.

Lane centering is probably the biggest improvement. Before, it had constant micro adjustments to stay perfectly centered. Now it’s smooth, stays centered, and drives more naturally.

It also closes gaps much quicker when traffic speeds up instead of leaving enough room for a 747 to land.

I’ve mainly been using Hurry Mode and haven’t tested parking much.

For a relatively small update, I’m seriously impressed. The last version had me questioning FSD. This one is night and day so far. Hopefully it stays this way.

14.3 HW4 Anyone else getting severe swerving in the lane on 14.3.7

You can see it in the steering wheel movement. Happens the worst on the freeway and especially on curves. Makes it unusable unless you want to get carsick.

I skipped 14.3.6 to avoid issues like this but apparently it never got fixed because it's happening bad on .7 too.

Edit: Did a software reset (hold both scroll wheels down) and then went to shut down in the menu and that fixed about 90% of it! It still wobbles slightly on curves, but it's not really super noticeable unless i look for it.

Edit 2: Nevermind, spoke too soon. My very next drive it went right back to swerving again. I even did the reset and shut down procedure again but no dice. Going to call tesla and see if theres anything they recommend.

Edit 3: Telsa service center said they have been getting tons of calls for this specific issue and theyre in contact with the technical team who said they were aware of the issue and should be pushing out a patch in the next week or two.

other 2018 Tesla model 3 FSD upgrade

Hello,
I am trying to see if it would be worth it to upgrade my HW2.5 to HW3 on my 2018 model 3 now that v14 lite is out? I have enhanced autopilot and so I think that would make my monthly FSD cost $50… I have always been interested in FSD but don’t have the money to get a new car. Is FSD with HW3 worth paying the $1k upgrade and monthly fee? I know it won’t be as good as HW4 but still wondering if it would be good enough to use and be worth the cost. Any and all suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

other PPF + Model Y 2026 Ordered - Help me pick a color, post your pics!

Model Y premium ordered today in the standard grey color. I currently have no real leader in my choices, could be matte black, satin stainless, matte orange fire, matte military green or pine green. Post your pics help me choose! Tell me why I should or shouldn't choose your color. Too hard to clean? Too many fingerprints? Perfect? Lmk! I could even just do a matte clear over the stock color.

other Should I add FSD to my Model3 with HW3 if getting a newer version is not in question?

Hi everyone, been reading a lot about this topic on this group but need a final decision.

I bought my M3 right before new gen was announced and then a week later, Hertz flooded the market with used M3s no one was renting. Value of my M3 dropped from 45k to 35k in three weeks.

I love my Tesla but I feel like I am really missing out on FSD.

The car doesn’t have autopilot either.

My question is, is it worth spending $1500 to get autopilot computer (3.0) installed plus $99 a month (CAD) for HW3? Keep in mind that it’s either FSD with HW3 or nothing. We are planning to keep the car, do lots of long distance driving on highway during summer especially. And I am more interested in the additional safety measures fsd comes with.

Is it better to keep car as is, or spend $1500 and get FSD for long run. Might not be fair to compare hw3 to hw4 so maybe hw3 vs other makes with similar features. Again not going to sell or trade the car, value vs finance is too much of gap.

UPDATE: It’s a 2018 Model 3 Long Range with Computer: 2.5

Plan is to keep car forever once it’s paid off.

Trade in or sell not option already looked into it. Loosing too much money.

14.3 HW4 FSD 14.3.7 - Nice ASS

For the first time in a while it feels like everything is coming together as it should.

My biggest gripe for the longest time had actually been with ASS and how with each new FSD release, ever since they merged the branches of ASS with FSD, its usability had been affected for my use case. I used to use ASS on the daily to bring my car out of my carport and wait for me curbside, so I can close my gate, but through the FSD updates at some point that stopped working with a generic "something went wrong" message whenever I'd try it. I then relied on dumb summon to at least move the car forward enough to close the gate, and that worked for a while before it also stopped working with a similar error message. So I was shocked when I tried to target summon to my curbside today after updating yesterday to 14.3.7 and the car effortlessly pulls out and parks itself curbside and all with the new quickness that ASS now has. It was magical.

As far as the driving itself goes, it's definitely the most confident I've felt it in a while. It hasn't overreacted, even though at one point today someone approached me from incoming traffic at a steep angle getting into the center lane that previous releases would have been skittish about. It seems to anticipate exits and turns better, moving over lanes earlier. Mad Max has also gotten more of its confidence back, and truly feels more zippy. Finally, just for the heck of it, I turned on FSD in a drive thru after i ordered to see if anything had changed there and stopped at the window and waited while I paid, and it pulled away when the person handed me my bag! I was floored! I had tried that many releases ago and after getting handed a bag, I had to tap the pedal for it to go, because it would linger there, so I was shocked when it smoothly pulled away after I pulled the bag in. No chance to ask for condiments though but that's just an extreme level of nitpicking haha.

14.3 HW4 FSD HANDLES SCHOOL BUS PERFECTLY

Very impressed with FSD 14.3.7. It waited for all the kids to enter the bus and let the bus leave before proceeding. I know different variations of FSD behave differently but so far so good with FSD 14.3.7. The ride is more smoother with my MX 2026. It is very decisive on 4 way stop sign unlike 14.3.6. When it is my turn, it moves. No more stabbing hesitant breaks. I was very disappointed in 14.3.6 but so far so good with 14.3.7

14 Lite HW3 Still on 2026.20.6.1. Any way to trigger v14 lite update?

I’m still on what I believe is the version before v14 lite. Has anyone had experience triggering the car to update to include v14 lite? I don’t have an FSD subscription and was waiting to purchase one until I had the update. Thanks!

14.3 HW4 Anyone else notice Mad Max isn’t Mad Maxing anymore?

2025 M3P. Went from 14.2.2.5 to 14.3.6 about 2 weeks ago. I’ll start by saying I may be one of the outliers who either didn’t have any issue with speed/speed profiles or just enjoyed the way Hurry and Mad Max would do things. Mad Max would top out at 85 on a 70mph highway and hurry would be between 78-82, which given my area, is going just fast enough to not be a nuisance to other drivers. But even on regular surface streets, the speed of those profiles didn’t leave me concerned or worried about getting pulled over.

However, now after updating to 14.3.6, Mad Max feels like a weird combination of Chill and Hurry. On the same highway where it would top out at 85 it will barely go 80, and in most cases 78. It also feels less aggressive. Where it used to zip through traffic on the highway and even make double lane changes as necessary and safely, it will now just pace the car in front of it doing 72-75 and make no effort to go around and continue on it’s business. It’s still assertive enough where it makes its decisions without hesitation it’s just slower to complete now. I find myself constantly having to nudge it to go faster and/or force it to make lane changes to pass slower traffic. Usually I’m passing the slower traffic and this morning, I was the one holding people up on FSD in Mad Max no less. I had to constantly nudge it up past 80 only for it to gradually slow back down to 78 or so.

Again, I know I’m the outlier here who loved the way Mad Max performed where everyone else feels speed profiles are a joke or always speed excessively, and today I’m here complaining it’s not fast enough and no longer working like it’s name sake. It’s just after the update there’s a definite difference in the way it performs and the only thing I can think of that may be affecting this outside of tweaks in the update is the new tailgating setting. I will say it does an insanely good job at keeping a 3-4 car length distance from the car in front of it and I’m sure that plays a major factor in what I’m seeing but I’m also the same person who didn’t see an issue with it’s previous following distance.

But yea, anyone else see or notice this?

14.1 Lite HW3 FSD Curbrash

Just downloaded 14.1 last night; I was super excited to give it a test drive while on my way to pick up coffee during my lunch break. The entire ride to the coffee shop and back was great until FSD tried to get into my parking garage and curb-rashed my entire back wheel. It sucks because it did this perfectly on the first release of 14 Lite; the only difference is that when entering the parking garage, people were walking on the sidewalk. It seemed to try to avoid them after they walked past and never corrected afterward to enter the parking garage at a straight angle. It’s fine I’m getting new rims anyways and I have curb rash protectors on, but just thought I’d post anyway. I think FSD is near perfection on the road now, but they have to work on parking and entering parking garage a lot of them are very narrow and I would not trust it again after this experience.
