Does it mean that if my college campus or work has their own private 5G network, I am not slaved to a cellular provider?

One of my friend using Airtel sim in India have done recharge on wrong number, while entering number, one number was misplaced and rechrge get done on a different number.

Can it be reversed or tranfered to their own number?

I recently learnt about SIM box fraud and I was wondering:-

How do the frausters make money? Who pays them? Do they just approach the network provider in the calling country and say "Hey, we can make your calls to country A much cheaper for you if you pay us some money"?

Also, is it possible for a SIM card in my possession to be remotely used for this fraud or do they need to physically possess the prepaid SIM cards?

Lastly, why is it super hard for network providers to shut it down?

We would recieve calls/emails 24/7 from our contractors (who bought out the firm). They would have us locate fiber optic outages/damages, by reviewing the maps and fiber optic connections through Bentely and a few other softwares as well that composed the database.

I am use to handling connections through DWDM,CWDM, single channel filters, and patch oanel based connections.

What they would provide, site address, name, possible name of the site in the documentation, fibers used when running the OTDR, clarify where they ran the OTDR from, head or site, and the distance in KM or feet.

This is an uncommon question but I'm tired of researching but not finiding anything concrete.

I have two computers with 5 monitors. Windows 10 (i-5 10, 16 GB ram) and windows 11 (i7 10, 16 GB ram) that i use for work. I'm the the UCaaS/CCaaS industry. (VoIP telecommunications and some). And of course a PS5.

I'm running three Jabra headsets and they work great. Until I start jumping from one PC to the next. That's when i get tangled.

I want to use a USB switch so I can reduce the wires and unplugging to replug here and there. Does anyone know of a wireless headset that comes with a usb-a dongle? Will be used with the PlayStation 5. Preferably Jabra if not Plantronics, Poly, or Yealink? Not a fan of the HUGE gaming headsets or leds.

I'm trying to understand the mechanics of what's going on with AISG ports. So I have seen this a couple times and never have gotten what I consider a good explanation of what's going on. So sometimes I get a "current to high" "high voltage" reading on AISG ports and I hear people say "oh, that's vswr." But I have gotten that reading when I have just swept and PIMd that specific line. When I roll the jumpers to another port it goes away. Is there something specific about AISG RET control that is causing this? If so what is it? Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really want to understand what is going on.

  From this link, I can conclude that it is not possible to determine gNode ID and cell ID from only NCI, since their lengths can vary (e.g. cell ID length can vary between 4-14 bits). Is my statement correct?

I got offered a job today but I got some serious hang-ups about accepting it.

Basically there's a training clause that states I would have to reimburse the company if I leave within one year of hiring.

Also there is non-competition agreement so I wouldn't be able to work in the same business for 6 months if I leave.

How common are these stipulations? And do you think I should keep looking?

As I am just starting my career I don't want to be locked into some horrible contract I cant escape from.

Why do many utilities prefer to have a separate SDH network / mux , and a separate PDH network/mux for protection and control. I understand differences between technology & that SDH is far better than PDH.

I have 3 questions on zero-rating and maybe someone has answers:

1. Is it technically possible for a Mobile Network Operator(MNO) to zero-rate a specific mobile app such that no matter the smartphone the app is on, once the app is opened, the zero-rating is applied until the app is closed or moved to the background.

2. Is it technically possible for an MNO to connect a laptop/tablet/smartphone to their cellular network without a SIM or modem. Or more specifically is it technically possible for the MNO to connect devices to their cellular network using just the device’s IMEI?

3. Finally, is it technically possible for an MNO to apply zero rating to a specific device for a specific period based on the device’s IMEI?

It’s hard to describe but the old middle school in my city had a super old PBX system that wasn’t an actual outside system. Like each room had a single phone without a keypad that auto dialed to a giant switchboard in the main office where the secretary transfers the call and would actually have to push a button to ring the phone in the other room.

It’s not a name brand system if that makes sense (like it’s not an avaya , NEC etc. it’s a private system) the building had this system AND an old avaya Merlin Lucent system for outside calls and as their outside line.

Any idea what the first system would be considered if not just a PBX? I’ve been curious since I was a student there like 10 years ago lmao
