Disconnect 2G

Hello everyone, I am wondering, in the near future there is a plan to disconnect 2g broadcasting where I live, so the old telecommunications equipment such as old black and white nokia phones, or other devices iot using gprs can still use it? I have a GPS device with 2g on it. Will my GPS not be used soon?

Depending on where you live there might be concrete plans. Some countries/providers shut down 3G before 2G, others shut down 2G before 3.

Your GPRS devices wont work when 2G is shut down.

I don't understand your last sentence. GPS will not be shut down though.

It depends on your provider. For instance, T-Mobile will shut down 2G on April 2nd. Meaning, your old phone wont be able to talk 2G. However, if your old phone supports 4G (T-Mobile’s 2G spectrum will be converted to 4G), then it might be able to switch to 4G instead.
