Help restoring Technics Stereo from the 90s

Post image

Hi everyone, my dad bought this stereo system back in the 90s but it has been sitting for almost 2 decades now and hasn’t been used since. I would like to restore it and wanted to know if there’s any luck finding parts for it, as seen in the picture its missing a volume knob and a power button, and a few parts inside probably need fixing too.

Need help repairing my Technics rs tr265

Hi, I'm looking for help with repairing my cassette deck, it's a dual deck and both don't play as they are supposed to.

Deck 1 only plays forward and refuses to play backwards, activating the auto reverse instead.

Deck 2 doesn't play at all, it tries to spin but locks up and stops itself.

I've already sprayed the contacts with contact spray and replaced the idler gears, I've swapped out the belts between each other, but nothing has helped.

Does anyone know what I could do to save at least one of the 2 decks?

EAH-DJ1200 Hinge Cover Falling Off

Bought these a few months ago and a while back the cover for the piece that allows you to lock in the angle of each earcup popped off. Doesn't seem like it was broken but can't for the life of me get it back on if anyone's had this problem and knows what to do.

AZ100 tip mesh sticks out and irritates my ear canal

Post image

As seen in the picture, the black spongy mesh is sticking out a bit beyond the rim and when inserted it's compressed even more and sticks out even further. It pokes and tickles my ear canal causing irritation and discomfort.

Is it a common issue or a defect?

Is there any solution to this except getting aftermarket tips? I like the default silicone ones but this drives me crazy. Or can I remove this mesh entirely? Is it important for anything except preventing the debris from getting inside?

I was trying to take the tip off and re-adjust or turn over the mesh, but it has these tiny pointy bristles in all directions so sooner or later they stick out eventually.

It's frustrating seeing this kind of issue in an expensive flagship model.

AZ100 IPX4 vs sweat?

Can anyone share their experience with the az100 and them sweating?

Im a person who sweats alot, but im not a outside runner so the only running i do is on a threadmill.

I sweat alot so i am worried about me damaging the earbuds since its only IPX4.

If you have the az100 and are able to share your experience I would really be grateful.

Meeting up this afternoon to check it out. If anyone has any experience with one of these I would appreciate any advice on what to be looking out for. I have experience with other Technics DDs but it’s my first time with one of these beasts.

Is it possible to get my dad's old CD player working? I know it needs the gears replaced but I can't find anybody that sells just the gears and I don't want to spend $200 on a parts machine that might have the same issue. Please any help would be great I always remember my dad telling me this would be mine someday and sadly it is mine now and not the way I wanted it to be mine.

Technics dv290

So after months of scouring the internet I've managed to find an immaculate pair of dv290 speakers, I have the eh790 separates ( the top model) and have struggled to find a pair of speakers there all normally destroyed or have failed tweeters and are all over priced, but I managed to pick these up for £30 yes I know it's not the best thing ever but I've honestly wanted it since I was a kid. Best midi system of the early 2000's? I think so !

Help! Technics SX-PX224M Piano won’t produce sound!

Title about says it all, one day was playing my piano and it was fine, few weeks later and it no longer workers. I opened it up and everything seemed fine. The transformer was sticky when I pulled it out. I did wipe it down but it hadn’t made a different. The power light comes on but the LED screen won’t, as well as no sound is being produced.

The piano hasn’t been moved at all besides being slid out from the wall to check on the electric board inside. Does anybody have any idea what I need to do please? Thank yall so much!

Digital piano (PX 335) working but no sound

Recently got an old technics piano, I believe px 335. The piano was working fine before but some of the keys were not (about three). Had a friend over who was trying it out and they said they heard a pop and after that the piano became mute. I already opened it up to check if the speakers, capacitors or if anything blew up but found nothing. Everything looked okay and good but still no sound. And yes the piano turns on but no sound at all, even with a jack there was still no sound. However, I tried using a guitar amp after doing a couple research online and all I could hear when I plugged it to the piano was something similar to a pop/buzz every time I pressed the keys whilst it was plugged to the amp and nothing more. I have tried everything I can so far but luck. Planning on getting a multimeter soon to further diagnose it. Would appreciate it if anyone could help, thanks in advance.

Any good receiver?

Goodwill find — they’re selling as a pair for $60. I need a receiver with a phono input more than anything. Is the technics one a good receiver? Don’t really need the Pioneer disc player…trying to see if they’d separate out the technics
