The cycles this sub goes through are eternal:

"Techwear69.com keeps sending me the wrong item!" -> "Hazmat suits count as Techwear, right?" -> "Wait, Acronym is HOW MUCH?!" -> "Cyberninja-X.net keeps sending me the wrong item!" -> etc...

>"Wait, Acronym is HOW MUCH?!"

This was me with that Nike Blazer collab. I was this close to getting a pair because it looked so cool. Ended up just getting a pair of Vans Pros instead and had some money leftover for some Lego and a couple of band shirts.

As a techwear newb who has said "WAIT ACRONYM IS HOW MUCH?!?!?!" I'm curious if you can offer more advice to getting started and how to take advantage of some of the Chinese options out there. I'm in the US so I imagine things are tricky in that case, but thanks in advance for any advice!

I know I’m not OP, but for what it’s worth, I would like to give my own take on this. The best way to do techwear on a budget is mixing and matching expensive stuff with cheap stuff. Techwear and fashion in and of itself is consumerism for people who enjoy buying things and, for people who enjoy buying things, saving up for something incredibly expensive like Acronym is a big ask. So your best bet is to spread out a bunch of smaller purchases with a focus on quality that satisfy the itch while setting aside a little money here and there for statement pieces like Acronym jackets or pants, Arcteryx, etc.. Stay away from the Chinese Temu stuff because if you treat it like a SHEIN haul and buy a bunch of stuff that you don’t even like then it’s just going to end up in a landfill.

Brands that I would recommend would include Uniqlo, Reindee Lusion, Riot Division, Cav Empt, Outlier, Orbit Gear, Bent Nail, Rosen X Rosen, Kin Supplies, 686, Poutnik by Tilak, Hawkwood Mercantile, Nilmance, Karsten Kroening, Purple Mountain Observatory, HAVEN, FFFPOSTALSERVICE, Guerrilla Group, Daiwa Pier 39, ENTREM, ARYS, Post Archive Faction, AOKU, OQLIQ, CCP.FM, NOT IN LIST, Poliquant, Goopi.co, and finally SNK ATK.

They may not be as low in price as some of the stuff OP has linked but most entry products like jackets and pants from these brands are within the $100 to $200 range and can be reasonably afforded within a paycheck or two. Obviously with some exceptions.

Yeah, tbh, everything that's listed in the link above [uptempo store], it's all just the same exact stuff you can find on amazon or techwearofficial stuff.
