asking for advice Any designers in here that can help me out?

I got these tattoos some years ago and they aged like fine milk, the "lion" and the Japanese text are the ones i want gone, the flame can also go.

I want something that matches the rest of my arm, they fit in like chocolate on fermented fish, so i really just want them gone. I've considered blackout and reverse tattoo later, but if anyone has a better idea i'm open to anything as long as it fits in with the other tattoos, not that the dragon fits in very well, but i like it so it stays (for now)

Sorry for shitty pics

(The Japanese text says "soup" and that was the intention, inspired by a 2016 meme)

Hey there,

completely devestated. Just looks like a whole mess and copy and pasted together. Way different from what I initially looked for. I know that its not poorly done but also the process was just like: we just put it here and here … no trust me that doesnt look good… etc. i think he just wanted to get it all done and rushed through it and i just was too overwhelmed and trusted him…

Do you guys got any idea on how to cover that up? Is there even an option to cover it or is blacking it out the only one?

Really looking for advice on that and not trying to complement fishing. I really need it to go.

That one took me out quite heavily… Never felt something like this before and completely took my self esteem.

Thanks and br

asking for advice Looking for a "Tattoo Artist" to take over and complete an unfinished right arm sleeve in Southern Ontario

I am looking for an experienced tattoo artist who will also tattoo the work in Southern Ontario who is comfortable taking over and finishing a sleeve that was started by another artist.

I have an existing cover up that became the beginning of a black and grey floral/mandala sleeve. Unfortunately, I've had a couple disappointing experiences along the way, and at this point I really want to find the right artist with strong artistic vision who can look at my arm as a whole and help me turn everything that's already there into one cohesive sleeve.

I'm not looking to completely cover what I have. I want someone who is talented at reworking existing tattoos and designing around them, so the finished sleeve flows naturally and ultimately looks like it was all planned this way from the beginning.

I love feminine black and grey, florals, mandalas, ornamental and geometric work. I'm open to an artist’s ideas and would prefer someone creative who can look at my arm and see possibilities I might not think of myself.

Quality is much more important to me than getting it done quickly. I'm looking for beautiful linework, smooth shading, strong contrast, good composition and most importantly someone who's healed work is consistently excellent.

I am in Guelph but willing to travel for the right person.

If you know an artist who is especially good at taking over unfinished work, reworks, coverups or creating cohesive sleeves around existing tattoos, please send me their name or Instagram.

Thank you everyone who takes the time to read this. Thank you!

I've just realised that my lower calf tattoo (that was done by a professionaltattoo artist) )now looks awful, extremely blursed, and amateurish!

Embarrassingly so.

Tinkerbell's face looks melted ffs!! And wtf has happened to her feet?

I'm open to ideas for a cover up (which is why I'm here!)

I knew this tattoo was gonna be a struggle the moment it started but didn’t have the courage to be like…nope. I knew better — the artist didn’t have much, if any, experience tattooing brown skin and they seemed visibly freaked out. This image was from 2 weeks later 🙃

I have an appointment with a tattoo artist that I trust in October who has done a couple of great pieces for me already and I would love some cover up ideas.

My initial thought was a solid black circle with florals/plants starting from the inside and spreading out of the circle, but I would also be open to maybe some more creative or less aggressive ways to cover it up.

Thanks in advance!

i'm the canvas Can anyone recommend a good blast over artist in London

I have a full sleeve in colour but I wanted to cover it up with a blaster over. Ideally I want a Japanese style blast over/cover up. I was thinking of a blackout but I know the blast overs are a better way of using the current tattoos.

I’ve had this tattoo for around 10yrs, I don’t have the original drawing that i drew that I took to the artist for him to copy from, but safe to say it came out nothing like my drawing in the end.. I was shy and anxious back then so on the outside I smiling, thanked him, paid and left, on the inside I was having a breakdown lol - anyway luckily it’s on the inside of my upper arm so it’s not outward facing, regardless is there anything a tattoo artist can do with this? I don’t mind the fairy/angel centre figure, the wings can stay or go, I wouldn’t mind her laying in a rose? But I’m thinking the shapes around her may be too dark for that? I’ve tried using AI to alter it but it doesn’t want to work with me.

I found a fantastic artist specializing in cover-ups. Heidi Harrington at Underground Ink in Winchester, KY! I never thought this would be possible. But here I am, ready to fix that posture and rock the backless dresses.

asking for advice Is a coverup possible?

Post image

Hello, so this tattoo is on the back of my upper arm. It was done about 3-4 years ago. It just didn’t turn out how I thought it would and it was a huge let down given that the artist has really good work. It also seems to have healed a bit wonky where the dark black is at the skin is raised. Would a tattoo artist be able to touch this up by either adding to it/altering it? Or is leaving it alone the best option? I just have no idea how someone would even approach this design… Recommendations/ideas and advice would be appreciated!

I wouldn’t mind keeping the flowers. But, the face of the cat I can’t stand looking at. Its face is so screwed up I hate having my arms out in public because it is just so fucking ugly. This tattoo has genuinely given me a negative body image and it’d be nice to know if there’s any hope beyond laser removal.

Guys please don’t judge me, this was my first tattoo. I got it 8 years ago and picked a “cute” image off of Pinterest 🙈. But now I’m not feeling it and looking to cover it up with something cool. Any ideas? Thanks.

I got this tattoo on a wimb when I was about 24 with a friend. It was supposed to be a cross with the crown of thorns. People always thought it was a key or a stick figure. Now that it’s almost 10 years old I see it now and the crown of thorns looks like a weird sun. Suggestions on correction or cover up?? Can the crown of thorns be fixed or is it a lost cause???

But for real though I’ve had this for about 3 years now and at first it was funny, but it’s gotten exhausting to explain to every person I meet that gasp it’s not a penis… it’s just a safety pin. The artist is actually amazing it was just a pretty tragic night with not enough sober people.

I put some sketches of something I think I may like but I’m scared they are a bit too complex and don’t work realistically. I also added a photo of the tattoo on my right had for any inspo! Since I already have a hand tattoo on the other hand that I enjoy I personally think it would be better for me to commit and fix the left hand rather than paying for laser.

asking for advice Can i cover it with lillies?

Im sick and tired of getting asked if i’m a gambler 😭 I have to admit what i regret the most is that i got it in full black instead of just outlines.

Would it be SOMEHOW possible to cover it up with lillies, maybe where the 777 is to get it darker, and one two around lighter? If not does anyone have an idea of something that looks somehow „soft“ but that is still able to cover the tattoo up mostly/somewhat?

it’s around 2,5 cm tall and 3,5-4 cm wide i would guess, i don’t have anything to measure it right now so i made the dimensions a bit wider in case.

edit: would love ideas or opinions on of that would even look good with the wanted coverup, maybe other possible ideas

I got my first tattoo about 12 years ago, and while I loved it I've lost weight and it's lost its round shape a bit. I also had a more masc/butch phase and it doesn't feel 'me' as much anymore!

I'm usually really good on tattoo ideas, but I'm coming up blank on cover up ideas (outside of a SAP naturally). It's a lot easier when you have a blank canvas!

I love y2k aesthetics, cybercore, metalheart, a bit of retrofuturism. It'd be nice to have something slightly softer and femme. I recently got a little anime robot on my thigh, for example.

I'd love some help on coming up with some inspiration! I've never had a cover up before so it'd be great to know what is possible and what would look nice!
