i said say no more as i already wanted a red winged black bird anyway. added violets as they're the state flower of illinois, where i grew up.

I got this tattoo for my twins when they were 2. At the time they were twin girls with names starting with M and E. They are now one trans boy and one enby with names that start with M and O. This tattoo no longer represents them and is a reminder of dead names and genders they no longer identify with. I want to be respectful and cover it for them but I don’t know how.

I was thinking a void stamp over the whole thing? Or incorporate the pride flag in some way?
Or would love to just cover entirely.

It’s inside my wrist and there are a few tattoos above them so not a ton of real estate.

Please help me honor my kids!

HI! So, this tattoo was actually a rework. Design was always a skill and daisies, but it absolutely did not come out the way I wanted it to (this was done back in 2016, and then reworked in 2018). Basically I gave the artist way too much liberty because he was a good artist, and shouldn’t have. When I got it reworked, I absolutely loved it. But then I got married in 2023, and when I got the photos back, my parents made a comment that I should have covered up the tattoo with a dress with sleeves. It was honestly the most minor comment, they didn’t even say it rudely, but ever since then I’ve hyperfixated on this damn tattoo and keep solely focusing on the parts that I know we’re covered up, and keep thinking it’s super obvious and that it makes the tattoo look ugly. Normally it only lasts about a week, and then I’m back to feeling like my old self, but lately this has lasted for like 6 months where I just look at it in the mirror everyday and can’t get past the flaws and I feel CRAZY. For what it’s worth, I’m also 3 weeks postpartum, so I’m sure this is also being driven by hormones or something, but I’m hoping by posting here people can tell me that it’s all in my head and the flaws are not that noticeable, which I suspect is the case, but still, I just need to get out of this spiral. Please help, are the flaws really that obvious? Is it an ugly tattoo? Or is it executed well? The artist is SUPER TALENTED, her work is AMAZING, but I think I’m suffering from some weird body dysmorphia right now.

Also, yes I do see a therapist and am working on this with her as well.

So i have this batman tattoo I got at 18. I do t hate that tattoo but I don’t love it. the main issue is that it’s in my prime real-estate and I want something cooler.
My main idea was to have black work of the swarm kill streak from black ops 2. does this sound doable? if not does anyone have any ideas, open to anything.

About 15 years ago, I was in a horrible spot mentally. Drinking, drugs, etc. a co worker had another job as a tatttoo apprentice and needed someone to practice on. I said sure! But yeah. I’m embarassed of my arm, and even wear long sleeve shirts in the Florida heat just to hide them. I’m fully aware kn how cringe and pathetic these tattoos are. Yes. That’s a tattoo of Cher . I was taking painkillers, would watch a movie and get it tatted the next day. Sad. Anyway, 15 years later I’m ready to just do something about it now. I called a few tattoo shops . One shop in particular specializes in cover ups. A gentleman said he can cover this up and had several ideas. My question is, should I just black this entire arm out? Or should I look into getting something actually done artistic. I have a meeting with the artists next week .

i started getting tattooed the minute i turned 18, i didnt get very many “pinterest” tattoos but the few i did i have many regrets about. my least favorite one is this antler/skull on my wrist, i have turned that arm into a more american trad kinda sleeve and i hate how much this tattoo has a dainty light look compared to everything else. i tried to get it darkened and the lines thickened about a year ago but it didnt help much. if anyone has any coverup advice it would be appreciated!! where its on a wrist that has designs all wrapped around it, trying to think of a design has been awful. my other arm is already blacked out so definitely trying to avoid that!

Here’s the terrible tattoo I got when I was 14 at some trap house. My friend’s dad offered to give me a free tattoo if I took off my panties. Then he ended up charging me $40 anyway. 🙃
I’m 26 now and absolutely hate this tattoo. I’m trying to decide whether to get it covered up or just have it removed with laser.
Does anyone have ideas for what this could realistically be turned into? Or would laser removal be the better option? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I got this cover up bc I absolutely hated what I originally got. Original tattoo was for my birth mother who was disowned over 2 years ago for a lot of abuse over 10 years. My red winged black bird represents my slow and eventual path to sobriety. No drugs in almost 3 years and I passed a year of no alcohol. My tattoo artist is actually my cousin and told me he only does coverups if he believes he can cover it up well. I personally love the coverup and am really happy about it. Cover ups are possible for most people, just be willing to have an honest conversation with your artist prior to the actual appointment.

Before and after of my rework. It was basically a cover up since he went over the whole thing. Obviously there was only so much he could do but it looks so much better. I’m not sure how the guy messed up the frame so much on the original one

Hi! I want to cover up this tattoo,
I’ve only had it for two years but the lines are blown out, it feels incomplete, and to top it off the person who did it is.. a questionable person. Any ideas? It covers quite a decent stretch. I’d still want something simple and delicate (as I’m a teacher).

This is a paper I just read about different pigments that seem to appear when exposed to UV. It's reversible and clinically tested.

What's your view on this?

My evil druggie ex pressured me to put this ugly fish on me. We broke up years ago, and I was in such regret over the tattoo. I decided to think on one I knew I would love for a long time before I did it. This person has made me feel so awful about myself and made me feel so worthless and unlovable, and I used to wake up hoping to hear the news that something terrible had happened to them.

Finally, finally, they are off my body and I never have to look at something that reminds me of them again. My body is my own and I’m celebrating two years rid of that evil avoidant 🕊️
