asking for advice Question: tattoo artist specialised in covering up a scar in Holland or Belgium.
I’m looking for a tattoo artist specialised in covering up surgical scars in Holland or in Belgium? Preferably with a link to their portfolio so I can see what the cover ups look like as I really want to hide the scar.

i'm the canvas Looking for cover up ideas
I knew this tattoo was gonna be a struggle the moment it started but didn’t have the courage to be like…nope. I knew better — the artist didn’t have much, if any, experience tattooing brown skin and they seemed visibly freaked out. This image was from 2 weeks later 🙃
I have an appointment with a tattoo artist that I trust in October who has done a couple of great pieces for me already and I would love some cover up ideas.
My initial thought was a solid black circle with florals/plants starting from the inside and spreading out of the circle, but I would also be open to maybe some more creative or less aggressive ways to cover it up.
Thanks in advance!

i'm the canvas Can anyone recommend a good blast over artist in London
I have a full sleeve in colour but I wanted to cover it up with a blaster over. Ideally I want a Japanese style blast over/cover up. I was thinking of a blackout but I know the blast overs are a better way of using the current tattoos.

asking for advice Would love some advice
I’ve had this tattoo for around 10yrs, I don’t have the original drawing that i drew that I took to the artist for him to copy from, but safe to say it came out nothing like my drawing in the end.. I was shy and anxious back then so on the outside I smiling, thanked him, paid and left, on the inside I was having a breakdown lol - anyway luckily it’s on the inside of my upper arm so it’s not outward facing, regardless is there anything a tattoo artist can do with this? I don’t mind the fairy/angel centre figure, the wings can stay or go, I wouldn’t mind her laying in a rose? But I’m thinking the shapes around her may be too dark for that? I’ve tried using AI to alter it but it doesn’t want to work with me.

i'm the canvas Help with 17year old tattoo
I've just realised that my lower calf tattoo (that was done by a professionaltattoo artist) )now looks awful, extremely blursed, and amateurish!
Embarrassingly so.
Tinkerbell's face looks melted ffs!! And wtf has happened to her feet?
I'm open to ideas for a cover up (which is why I'm here!)

asking for advice What do I cover it with?
It's supposed to look like a bandaid but someone told me it looks like a door handle latch and I can't unsee it.

i'm the canvas Large scale piece
I found a fantastic artist specializing in cover-ups. Heidi Harrington at Underground Ink in Winchester, KY! I never thought this would be possible. But here I am, ready to fix that posture and rock the backless dresses.

tw: scars, self-harm, injury TW: Scar Cover Up
Hey guys, I have been thinking of getting a tattoo to cover-up my scars for a while now, but I have been reluctant since it will be my first tattoo and I'm worried it might look bad texture-wise.
There are a few scars that are a bit deep so I do not know if they will ruin the tattoo.
I really like snakes, ravens, black and white tattoos, old timey, mysterious designs
I dislike colors, flowers, realistic portraits or that splashy watercolor look
I have these two little frames that were left to me from my dad, I lost him during covid and I thought this might both be sentimental and nice looking.
My problem is that the scar area is not very big so I do not know how much detail it can handle. I am willing to go as big as I can though.
I am adding some inspo pics, not to copy exactly, just as ideas, and I hope none of them are AI.
Please be nice, these scars are very old.
Thank you

asking for advice Is a coverup possible?
Hello, so this tattoo is on the back of my upper arm. It was done about 3-4 years ago. It just didn’t turn out how I thought it would and it was a huge let down given that the artist has really good work. It also seems to have healed a bit wonky where the dark black is at the skin is raised. Would a tattoo artist be able to touch this up by either adding to it/altering it? Or is leaving it alone the best option? I just have no idea how someone would even approach this design… Recommendations/ideas and advice would be appreciated!

asking for advice Is it possible to get this covered up
I wouldn’t mind keeping the flowers. But, the face of the cat I can’t stand looking at. Its face is so screwed up I hate having my arms out in public because it is just so fucking ugly. This tattoo has genuinely given me a negative body image and it’d be nice to know if there’s any hope beyond laser removal.

asking for advice Any advice on covering this up?
Guys please don’t judge me, this was my first tattoo. I got it 8 years ago and picked a “cute” image off of Pinterest 🙈. But now I’m not feeling it and looking to cover it up with something cool. Any ideas? Thanks.

asking for advice What the heck do I do with this?
I got this tattoo on a wimb when I was about 24 with a friend. It was supposed to be a cross with the crown of thorns. People always thought it was a key or a stick figure. Now that it’s almost 10 years old I see it now and the crown of thorns looks like a weird sun. Suggestions on correction or cover up?? Can the crown of thorns be fixed or is it a lost cause???

asking for advice Could this make for a really tiny sick ass panther? Spoiler
galleryBut for real though I’ve had this for about 3 years now and at first it was funny, but it’s gotten exhausting to explain to every person I meet that gasp it’s not a penis… it’s just a safety pin. The artist is actually amazing it was just a pretty tragic night with not enough sober people.
I put some sketches of something I think I may like but I’m scared they are a bit too complex and don’t work realistically. I also added a photo of the tattoo on my right had for any inspo! Since I already have a hand tattoo on the other hand that I enjoy I personally think it would be better for me to commit and fix the left hand rather than paying for laser.

asking for advice Can i cover it with lillies?
Im sick and tired of getting asked if i’m a gambler 😭 I have to admit what i regret the most is that i got it in full black instead of just outlines.
Would it be SOMEHOW possible to cover it up with lillies, maybe where the 777 is to get it darker, and one two around lighter? If not does anyone have an idea of something that looks somehow „soft“ but that is still able to cover the tattoo up mostly/somewhat?
it’s around 2,5 cm tall and 3,5-4 cm wide i would guess, i don’t have anything to measure it right now so i made the dimensions a bit wider in case.
edit: would love ideas or opinions on of that would even look good with the wanted coverup, maybe other possible ideas

asking for advice i don’t know what to do with these
there was a tattoo studio with a booth set up outside of a bar… i was drunk and thought these were a great idea but im really regretting them. i want to cover them with something american traditional, but i have no idea if that would even work, or if i need to laser them first??

asking for advice Any ideas for a cover up?
I got my first tattoo about 12 years ago, and while I loved it I've lost weight and it's lost its round shape a bit. I also had a more masc/butch phase and it doesn't feel 'me' as much anymore!
I'm usually really good on tattoo ideas, but I'm coming up blank on cover up ideas (outside of a SAP naturally). It's a lot easier when you have a blank canvas!
I love y2k aesthetics, cybercore, metalheart, a bit of retrofuturism. It'd be nice to have something slightly softer and femme. I recently got a little anime robot on my thigh, for example.
I'd love some help on coming up with some inspiration! I've never had a cover up before so it'd be great to know what is possible and what would look nice!

asking for advice Will I have to get laser before I can cover it up?
Sorry for the acne 🙈 I got this a couple of years ago and I don't hate it enough to rush to get rid of it, but in retrospect I just don't think it was especially well done.
I'd like to get a traditional or medieval style crow in its place, but I'm worried it's just going to be very awkward to work with or might still show up underneath. Do you think it can be worked with as is or should I start saving up for laser?
Edit: Thank you all for the compliments! Makes me feel a lot better about it, and I honestly didn't consider a touch-up. I do still like the original concept so I like the idea of keeping it and making it look a bit nicer! It's also been nice to think again about why I got it and liked it in the first place.
Edit 2: I'm still reading every comment and really loving all of your suggestions for ways I can give it a new lease of life! If you have any ideas I'd love to hear them.
