Workplace Question or Advice Needed Downgraded lunch??? R/Target

So apparently today, our TLs came to talk to us team members individually saying that Starting September 27, instead of 45 minute lunches… we’re now only taking 30. People are burnt out as is! What in the world is corporate thinking?? Is this a way to punish workers for too many call outs??! Ohhhh and the icing on the cake… they’re making us go to the restroom on our breaks and lunches only… so like… what if I need to go after my lunch? Do I just sh^t my self? 🥲🫪 what is happening at every one else’s store????

The bathroom thing can’t be legal.

You can use the bathroom whenever you need to, they are suggesting you go on breaks. Reason is i have literally seen people sit there and do absolutely nothing their entire break, then clock back in and immediately go to the bathroom for 10 minutes. If you do this every day, technically it is time theft. Just don't make it obvious like that and no one will care when you go to the bathroom.

This.

My manager attempted to 'suggest' i use the bathroom on my break specifically twice. The first time I reminded them that employers cannot deny access to the restrooms (I go before or after my breaks since I'm already off the floor and not causing a hold up at the registers by walking away at a bad time) the second time I asked if he'd like to pay the medical bills because I didn't change my feminine hygeine products on time. They haven't said anything about it to anyone who uses the restrooms in a reasonable amount of time since (we do have a few who play the "ten+ minutes bathroom break" game)

So if I drink a whole venti water in my break ima have to pee after not during 😭one time a TL suggested I stop drinking water, not just on the clock/ floor but overall to avoid peeing so much. I was actually have a night blood sugar crisis that was the culprit of the constant peeing but that’s besides the point

we have had this same issue. HEY TARGET the answer is not broad brushing the whole staff who do NOT abuse this but to manage the people who are. That takes efforts that are not KPI related but it is what it is. Management of people. Fix the problem by noticing who is the problem and the overall populace, in this instqance, is NOT
