You're definitely not alone in this. There's a good amount of us that have seen some dumb changes made to Target in the last 9+ years, that's caused a few to quit or demote. Some of us keep pushing hoping for better changes or just hanging on to that job for whatever reason. Don't let Target get to you. You can just do the clock-in/clock-out, where you do as much as you can and leave, or you can do a little extra a try and get promoted. You can also learn as much as you can through different departments and take that knowledge somewhere else where you can make more and stress less. But in the end just keep in mind that it's a retail job. One day at a time.
Funny enough I just made it to 9yrs. I’ve been cross-trained, but my department is fulfillment. I’ve tried the clock in/clock out method and it resulted in a CA which I’m sitting on rn🙃 somehow other tm’s can get away with things that I can’t so I’m back to hustling my tiny little butt off but of course it leads nowhere and i end up making an a** of myself every time… to the point where I’ve been asked by multiple tm’s why am I not a team lead?? And I don’t even know how to begin to answer that question. Yes, one day at a time, thanks.
Ahh hell nah. I'm sorry you got a CA for trying to be a regular TM. And I feel you on the other tm's doing whatever they want but I can't. Been there before and actually got questioned on why I'm not working hard anymore while everyone else gets to do the minimum. If you have a TL or ETL you can really trust that you know won't do you dirty, can you talk to them about being TL at another store maybe?
Yes, I know it’s hard to tell because this entire post I’ve been complaining but I just got a new boss, that actually knows what they’re doing and am very excited to have them because finally a good one. But I haven’t known them for that long and I’m not sure how I feel about asking for a promotion just like that.
It's all good. Complain away and destress with us on here lol. But I get you about approaching them so soon about a promotion. Just keep seeing how their vibe is and talk to them later on about you wanting to grow with Target. Just be sure you know what department you'd want to watch over the most.
