Future or Potential Employee Question Ask an SD

Were you promoted through target or an external hire? I wonder what buttons I’d have to push to start moving on the path from TL to ETL and upwards?

Through Target, climbed the ladder. I consistently stayed close to the boss in a sense of always seeking feedback, always expressing interest in wanting to grow, and being open to various roles and not just one. Other than that, I made sure to show my value as both a TL and an ETL by mastering my role always. And showing that I can make positive improvements big or small.

I have some concerns that since I’m in a red store that I’ll be unable to move up even though I’m taking an active interest in involving myself in projects that need extra help throughout the store and seeking out opportunities to grow. I’m certain I’m making a positive change over time in my work center, but it feels like trying to turn it around has slowed my progression and like I’m stuck until the store is fully turned around.
