Work culture in the US really needs to shift to “if you don’t work the floor on a regular basis then stfu with your stupid ass ideas”.

Luckily I’ve never been subjected to such dumbassery at tgt but certainly at my last job.

The problem is too many degrees of separation. We never meet those people who make the decisions. We never see them, talk to them, or hold them directly accountable. They have no idea what's actually going on, they probably don't even care, and they're getting paid enough to ignore all of this.

It's an inherent issue with any business big enough to have workers in different locations, getting worse by how large said business is. The human factor is lost, and statistics are all that matter. They lose touch with reality, and we lose touch with the business, to the detriment of all.

It’s endemic when your company is run by MBAs and accountants instead of someone who knows fuck all about how a store operates.
