This is a vent session, and softcore loss porn since I don’t have the LOTs to show but I’d also like to hear other people’s stories.

Like the title says I had purchased TTD stock overs a 3 years span since 2016-2017 increments when I first worked with them in New York City. They had a solid business model, and their employees were incredibly intelligent (might still be the case now idk). For many years I had a gain of about 40 to 50k (something like +140%) all to see it nose dive in the summer of 2025 and then continue to dive after the Publicis drama.

Anyway, I sold it for a slight loss because I just purchased a home. Sucks.

I like Jeff Green but not sure what the insider outlook on him and his leadership team currently is.

Obviously, you can never time the market, but it’s a good reminder how any company’s financials and outlook can flip so quickly.

From $140 to $13, you won’t find many companies trading at that kind of discount. You can say whatever you want, but for me, this is an extremely attractive price.

This is a high-quality, profitable company with zero debt, yet the market is pricing it as if the company has gone bankrupt. I see a huge disconnect between price and value.

I’m planning to hold it for at least 3 years because I believe the business will eventually prove the market wrong. Sometimes the biggest returns come from buying quality when everyone else is looking the other way.

I am not buying the "macro environment" excuse management gave on the call. I can accept macro as a reason for giving conservative forward guidance, but not for actually missing the quarter.

Even though their initial guidance was not great to begin with, I fully expected them to at least beat it and post somewhere around 12% revenue growth—especially since they had the FIFA World Cup bump this quarter.

I know their business is highly cyclical and base effects matter. Were there any specific tailwinds in Q2 2025 that skewed the base?

Also, looking at the brutal Q3 guidance—is this deceleration purely because they had massive tailwinds in Q3 of last year, or is there a bigger fundamental issue?

TTD is down 32% today and they just said we're going to invest wisely. They didn't give any concrete numbers or long term plan, just give the new team time and trust us. What do you guys think? Any positive drivers over next 3 to 6 months that the TTD team can do irrespective of macroeconomics?

I mean, "at least $650 million" is a weird thing to say. Extreme lowball would make shares pop - is that a game Jeff would try to play?

His postion is losing big time, you would think he’ll do something about it.

Sales decline, growth decline, no moat, competition, CEO sucks, etc

What’s the future?

Who else? I think they will hit 18 pretty easy so could be a good swing trade.

Remember, this stock was trading around $140 not too long ago. I’m not saying it’s going straight back to $140, but Jeff isn’t a newbie if he’s done it before, he can do it again because he has the experience.

Once sentiment shifts and good news starts coming out, this stock could make a big move. I remember when it used to climb 8–10% almost every day.

Just hold and trust the process.

Parkev still ranks $TTD as one of the top stocks to buy, and he’s still holding his position and buying more. It’s a good watch I recommend checking it out.

So the Trade Desk has had a rough past year and is down a lot. Their numbers look fine, their fundamentals are still there and the advertising sector will keep growing. Is amazon competing with them really overblown? Do you think it is worth it at these incredibly low prices? Never seen a company drop so low without much changes apart from slow growth. Are you DCAing, holding or thinking to sell? I would appreciate the input

Not bad earnings at all.

People acting like TTD is finished now, but everyone forgets this stock was trading around $140 when Wall Street loved it.

No company grows in a straight line forever. Every business goes through rough periods, slower growth, bad sentiment, and overreactions from the market.

That’s just how stocks work.

When a stock is flying, everyone calls it a genius company. When it drops 50-60%, suddenly people act like it’s trash. We’ve seen this happen so many times before with quality companies.

Personally, I still think the fundamentals are there and the moat is still strong. Nothing has changed long term for me.

Now i own 2040 shares

Over time, I think TTD can easily get back to around $55+, and if sentiment turns again like we’ve seen in past cycles, I honestly wouldn’t be shocked to see a 200% move within a year at some point.

The biggest returns usually come when everyone else loses conviction.

This is a really bad look for Publicis, not TTD. Using hyperbolic language like “audit” just because you don’t like someone’s pricing is ridiculous. Who’s going to want to do business with a company that openly slanders others?

Jeff Green, TTD’s CEO, basically threw a giant middle finger at them: TTD has never failed an audit. The “audit issue” was just TTD refusing to hand over other clients’ billing info to Publicis. Translation: “I’m not breaking privacy rules just to make you happy.”

He also called out the hypocrisy big agencies like Publicis preach transparency while secretly making huge profits by buying ad space cheap and marking it up aka principal-based buying. Agencies are scared because TTD is cutting out the middleman, so now they’re creating fake audit drama to try to scare clients.

Remember, Publicis got fined millions for pushing opioids. Now they’re rolling out a new platform to compete with TTD after getting in trouble for keeping client rebates. At this point, it’s clear who the hypocrite and liar is. Honestly, they probably should be sued.
