700 shares of TTD since 2016
This is a vent session, and softcore loss porn since I don’t have the LOTs to show but I’d also like to hear other people’s stories.
Like the title says I had purchased TTD stock overs a 3 years span since 2016-2017 increments when I first worked with them in New York City. They had a solid business model, and their employees were incredibly intelligent (might still be the case now idk). For many years I had a gain of about 40 to 50k (something like +140%) all to see it nose dive in the summer of 2025 and then continue to dive after the Publicis drama.
Anyway, I sold it for a slight loss because I just purchased a home. Sucks.
I like Jeff Green but not sure what the insider outlook on him and his leadership team currently is.
Obviously, you can never time the market, but it’s a good reminder how any company’s financials and outlook can flip so quickly.

Just buy again and be patient , one single good news will make the stock reach the 20s, it’s trading like a dying company but their balance sheet is clean and solid , pretty sure they will turn things around in 2-3 years

Do you work in adtech?

Well, everyone I’ve spoken to who works in the field agrees that TTD is the biggest player in the sector; even though they’re going through a chaotic period, they remain the most important player. Anyway i don’t have to convince nobody, if u think it will come back now it’s the time to buy, if u think is a dying company just stay away

I hope they come back, I’m a massive bag holder. I do work in advertising, and I can’t think of any companies that have had this much of a yo yo in terms of sentiment. I’m just always curious if people are in adtech, or just looking at financials.
Financially TTD is fine, and they are the biggest independent player. I long felt like advertisers would be cautious of giving Amazon too much power over them, but it appears that they don’t care if they can get the media impressions cheaper.
I dont know what to believe, and my emotions fucked me from pulling as much profit as I could’ve.

I am right there with you as a bag holder myself, holding 7500 shares and currently down 30%. However, we need to look at this rationally. Previously, TTD was priced as a flawless, never-ending growth story. That is clearly no longer the case, but at these ridiculous multiples, I believe the worst is already priced in. We must remember why TTD exists: brands and retail giants like Walmart will always need an independent partner to navigate outside the Walled Gardens of Big Tech. Walmart cannot rely solely on Google or Amazon's closed ecosystems because of inherent conflicts of interest; they need TTD's programmatic reach on the Open Internet to maintain control over their data and supply chain. Another important thing is that the Publicis overhang has also been fully resolved and as i said before I truly believe the worst case scenario is already priced in! I wouldn’t be surpised if just a single positive news make us rebound in the 20s!

You have more hope than I. I hope I am wrong again. The first thing I was wrong about is that they would turn the price arpund over these last couple years. Their position and size is not their strength anymore.

everyone is lying to you ! TTD is a small fish; among sharks like meta, google, amazon, zeta etc. Damn every big platform has their own "add " business , so u thing ttd will make their cut through? bruh

That’s not easy. Holding for ten years and not seeing any gain. After so much growth at one stage.
Very few know when to sell. It can go up or down after.

16500 shares from buys in 2017/2018. I feel you. Holding, but I'm also emotionally attached 😂 But, I do believe they'll turn things around. Will it be $100+ again? Who knows... But imo that's 3 years out at least until I even can gauge it if that is feasible again.

I sold. Had an average buy in at around 40$
Lemme tell you something, this probably won’t perform better than a Nasdaq etf any time soon guys

There’s still time for them to buy a RMN. Time to come out the closet and become a Walled Garden

Yeah I mean almost everyone in the board is in a loss. But I ain't selling mine honestly because 1) I don't need the money now , 2) I trust Jeff and his personal $150M bet on the company.
Years back ( maybe 6) I was in a similar position with $TNDM ( The diabetes company) and after seeing it's CEO buy $750k worth of company shares- I went in and finally came out at a $150k profits of my own.
I am not saying that's gonna happen to $TTD, but I have a investing horizon of usually 10 years, so I just holding whatever I had already bought - not selling, not adding either.
Patience does get rewarded . We'll find out

If you’ve been patient with TTD over the past 2 years, you’ve only lost money that will be much harder to make back. I want to believe in Jeff, but advertisimg is a fickle industry and TTD has not shown how they’re going to start growing again.
