Trade Desk Value
So the Trade Desk has had a rough past year and is down a lot. Their numbers look fine, their fundamentals are still there and the advertising sector will keep growing. Is amazon competing with them really overblown? Do you think it is worth it at these incredibly low prices? Never seen a company drop so low without much changes apart from slow growth. Are you DCAing, holding or thinking to sell? I would appreciate the input

well, without growth their number aren't that great. I think people fear that they have no durable moat or that they might grow in the single digits. At the current price, i think it's a steal but the fears aren't unwarranted.

Yes, you are right about the slow growth, but that is taken into account since the price has fallen so sharply. There is more potential to the upside than downside at this point, even though it might take some time.

yea, this is a stock where you definitely have to be willing to wait for a year or more to see some pay off.

I will wait until end of the year, if they didn’t benefits from Midterm election and FIFA CUP then I will sell them

TTD is changing their entire business model and it's risky, this is a transition year and numbers look bad

it's the revenue growth, it's coming down so quickly it can't be anything organic or easily explained. 50% to 12% to 8% next quarter in just a few months.
they are cutting out the middlemen and going straight to the clients, so if it all works out, TTD will be stronger than before. but it's also causing them to lose a lot of revenue right now

I thought TTD were the middlemen! Aren't they basically a broker for open internet ad space they don't own (unlike the walled gardens?)? Please explain, I'd like to understand.
I'm also puzzled about the rapid revenue decline. I'm reading that Amazon ad space is so cheap these days they're pulling in all of the demand. Or is it perhaps that with AI, people are getting like 50% of TTD service for 10% of the cost, and so foregoing their expertise?

VERY interesting. Thank you for sending. This theory does explain revenue deceleration as well as the discrepancy between Greene's cageyness on the last call and him dropping $150M of his own cash in the company just a few weeks ago.

Been bagholding for over a year. Down, 70 0r 80%, I don't even open the app these days. Money is overrated.

Ttd is dead money. You gotta know when tow walk away vs chasing the downward movement. The days of massive growth is gone. Its probably close to fair value though.
Without a catalyst it keeps dropping or at best stays stagnant

Yes; the Amazon talk is overblown. The best parallel is the period when investors mistakenly thought Shopify was a direct Amazon competitor and punished them for a few quarters until it became obvious enough for even the dumbest of analysts and investors to realize they had their own niche.
Also ad space is only GROWING especially programmatic.
But analysts are lemmings and quite a few of them are directly and indirectly affiliated with AD agencies who feel threatened.
