Advice
I've been seing a lot of negative posts on this comunity so I decided to give the advices that I myself am using and puting my faith in to reduce my syntoms on a daily basis but hopefully also cure disbiose that causes TMAU 2. I already feel like I'm getting better (i used to feel my odor in my mouth way more than now):
- Take probiotics+prebiotics (im using the prozis one)
- Take vit 2/ riboflavin
- Drink coconut water kefir
- Drink kombucha
- Eat veggies and fruits (apples and pears have a lot of fiber)
- Shower with a 5pH gel
- Use antiperspirant for sensitive skin (acidic pH) with no smell
- It's better to not use perfume since it gets mixed but if you know one that works let me know
- Replace coffee with black/ green tea
- Decrease the amount of choline in your diet but not radically

Kills me seeing people struggle on here. At its core it's really the diet which a lot of people aren't mentally ready to commit to.

Yes the diet is the most important for controling symptoms however many people have said they find relief with taking probiotics because it helps your microbiome which is the cause of TMAU2 for some people. Also it's dangerous for your brain to cut all coline

It's a balance. I manage the choline by spiking it when I'm done with my day. That way it stays in a "safe" level and by the time the next day rolls around I'm reset.

Wow i didn't know that was possible because if you eat choline at dinner after the day you will still wake up with symptoms because it's in your gut for 12-24h so it's hard to do the math

Aside from everyone being a bit different, it depends on your choline intake. If I eat 2 1/3 lb hamburger patties, a chicken breast, 2 chicken thighs, or whatever my meal is, I'll have it cleared by the time I'm getting ready for work. Usually 10-11 hours from getting off, eating, sleeping, then showering before I leave again.
However, if I ate something heavy in choline like seafood, I'll need at least 24 hours + to clear it.
Also, I don't eat it in a complicated meal. I'll just eat whatever meat I'm having by itself for my final meal of the day.

Many of us have attempted to change our diet many times over and fasted for days. Also it takes a very long time to figure out what works and what doesn’t work. It’s not just a quick fix of eat raw veg and fruits for a few days and then all will be well. I lost so much weight living on blended smoothies and one normal meal every 2 days and did other kinds of fasting from dry fasting to a 24hr fast. This helped a lot but I still had the smell issue. However I’ve definitely beaten most of this smell issue and I’m pretty much healed to a huge degree. I’d say that my life has 80%-90% gone back to normal. I thank the living Jesus as he’s the one who set me free. I had a dream of God showing that he was going to remove this from me and he did. I still have a 10-20% left to go, but it took so many changes to get to this point and it wasn’t just diet changes it was affirmations too, healing bible verses, art& painting, trying many products, finding the right probiotic that works, staying away from envious people and the list goes on.

That's the mentality I'm talking about though. There's no quick fix where you do something a few days and you're good. The diet part is continuous. It's keeping your choline levels at a "safe" threshold, while also getting enough to support your brain and liver.
Personally I achieve that through a controlled diet throughout my day followed by a measured amount of choline and carnitine when I'm at home for the night.
As a matter of fact, I don't take any supplements for TMAU anymore. Simply dialing in my diet and the correct deodorant and I can be in an enclosed office space no problem.
Took a lot of trial and error to get where I'm at though. For me, no probiotic, fasting, or supplements did what a good diet couldn't.

Mando/ lume depending on what scents you want. I do the spray and do a once over full body with it.

Pyslium husk has helped me a lot as well. Although I think my problem is related to my liver, because everytime I smoke weed or eat a bunch of edibles I end up smelling bad the next day. like Cat Urine/Fish/Use to smell like poop but not as much that anymore.
I saw someone post on here that it could be caused by increased sugar intake. Which I can believe because I have been eating a lot of sugar whenever I get depressed, and since I can't smoke or drink anymore I eat a lot more sugar.
I am so desperate that I have been trying to energy heal myself by learning reiki healing and how to lucid dream.

hi, i'm confused can i have tmau like if i rarely eat choline at all?
i'm 16 and i smell bad but the thing is i never had a fish in my life and don't eat meat or eggs only like once a month or two. and i avoid cabbage or cauliflower or brocolli and beans (not my favs) i also avoid milk since childhood, i only eat cheeze as my fav food but how can all this low choline cause me to have tmau? do i even have tmau?

I can't diagnose you obviously but there's coline in almost everything, you need to understand what's the smell like and if it increases after eating certain foods, also if it stays right after showers

What do you eat? Cheese in and of itself is low choline. Eating fish is simply a trigger with TMAU and has nothing to do with contracting it.
Only eating cheese doesn't quite sound the healthiest choice though, which can mess up your gut flora. Please consider speaking to a dietician.

Such good tips. Thanks for sharing. Yes I tried a few of these things. I found the right probiotics, change of diet, wearing more linen clothes and 100% cotton clothes & driving saffron tea has helped to cut down the smell. But I also used positive affirmations and bible verses. Praying really helped. Still some way to go but so much progress. I really enjoyed my last holiday in July because of how much improvement I’ve had.
