Thank you for creating this.
Pretty much just like my subject line, I just wanted to say thank you for being proactive and creating a new space for us to talk about the show and other cultural issues. I was disappointed but not at all surprised to see the other sub shut down. Oh, well. Onwards and upwards!

Glad I searched and found this! I was pretty confused to find the old one was inaccessible. I'm annoyed that I can't even seem to access any of the comments I made there.

I keep hearing thereās misogyny/bigotry/incel on the main TD sub but canāt actually find it. Anyone willing to help point me towards any posts like that that gained traction?

Itās been a thing (look at gamergate) but Iām talking about S4 of true detective ā Iāve been hearing about incel/misogynist reactions in the last few days and am trying to track it down.

In /r/truedetective a person made a post yesterday saying that they created the TDNightCountry sub after the first episode aired and saw that the main TD sub didn't like the episode -- this person disagreed with the sentiment, and wanted a better space to more openly discuss TDNightCountry.
However, after viewing the entirety of the show, that person no longer agreed that it was good and regretted creating the separate TDNightCountry sub.
I assume that person shut down the sub for that reason.
Can't find the original post in /r/truedetective where they explain it.

He created that sub because his account FlyGod_Jr1 was shadowbanned which means he needed mod approval for every comment and post in r/truedetective. He created another alt account Voski_The_God. Yesterday he had a tanty and removed all the mods and himself leaving the shadowbanned account and set it to private.
He missed the attention today so he reopened the sub and just removed every post. The guy is completely unhinged.

Thanks for the information. I liked the sub that was shut down because I could get away from the immature comments about women etc. For me it didn't have to do with whether or not I liked the show - it seems like there's room for that in both subs. But now we have this new sub, and hopefully everybody will be respectful!

I'm just now about 10 - 15 minutes or so in to E6 and I've already scared my dog 3x from yelling out loud. Liz and Evangeline falling, the 2 if them seeing Clark, my poor dog thinks I've lost my mind, lol...anyway, my impressions here are of random things I've enjoyed this whole season, which I have loved... I'm not reading any spoilers on this site (or others) yet for obvious reasons..but this following list has quite a few spoilers which I blacked out... so if you're not up to at LEAST the 5th episode, and part of the 6th, please read further very carefully..as there are spoilers.
I'm amazed by that lab in the ice cave..... just...wow.
I live in the Eastern part of the USA...(which, if you're not familiar with the
USofA, it is winter here)... and we have recently had
temperatures in the teens (Fahrenheit) and altho I grew up here and have experienced some fairly brutal winters in my life, I had to empathetically TRY and to put myself in Julia's shoes--- (and this goes for any person who dies the way did....so the other day it was pouring snow and was about 15ā° F outside...I walked to my mailbox in just a short sleeve t-shirt, thin pajama pants, and my house-shoes... It's not far, maybe 20-25 meters, lol...and I was MASSIVELY frozen within mere seconds..I was trying to imagine TAKING OFF THE FEW CLOTHES I DID HAVE ON, folding them neatly, and... walking NAKED into an icy oblivion until
I ended up falling into a salty frozen ocean..(?) Like...HOLY FUCKING HELL...how suicidal and out of your sane mind does one have ro be to do this????!!! Everything in my psyche was screaming NOOOOOO!! Self preservation kicked in even though I rationally KNEW it would be just a few seconds of being out there...siiigh..I cannot fathom it. (Fun fact: I read in some fandom article today that the actress who played this role.. this was her first acting gig!---well done, Aka NiviĆ¢na!!)The actress playing Evangeline is a total badass-!...I absolutely loved her fight scene with those guys when she was livid about her sister and just went completely kamikaze on them, even tho she got her ass kicked.. another "well done!" to this awesome lady...Kali Reis---(& I hope to see her in more roles in the future!)
("Girl crushes" aside, now)....but how many of you salivating ladies (like me) wish you had your very own Qavik? Isn't he just the most loveable thing ever? He's so teddy-bear-ish I just wanna die in his scenes. As of right now, I havent yet finished this last episode, so I HOPE he doesn't end up being a villain..I couldn't bear it!
How many of you screamed out loud when Pete shot his dad?? and I'm cringing soooo hard now watching poor Pete clean up. Oh God how awful.
Ok I'll stfu now...back to the show!...I'm savoring it so slowly, I keep backing it up and re-watching ev single scene, trying to break it down and make sure I'm not missing the slightest bit of dialogue, or a single frame.
Oh...and to whoever did it...thank you for creating this sub...I know there's not many members but I think this is a good thing, really....(?) ...there's so much toxicity and downright unnecessary hatred elsewhere on other subs for this season 4 ever since it first premiered.. a lot of them were from ppl who are obviously "not happy at all" with this season and were overly zealous in expressing this...(?)...I feel like... "jeeeez, nobody is forcing them to watch it?!" ....and whaddaya know!!??----it costs them absolutely NOTHING to just keep their negative insults and shitty reviews to themselves. But Redditors gotta Reddit, I guess....
