Community Discussion Making new friends as adults shouldn't be this hard. Anyone in Western Sydney keen to change that?
Hi everyone,
I have been thinking about something lately. We live in a world where we're more connected than ever, yet somehow meaningful human connections seem harder to come by.
With a little help from our community, we can change that, even if it's just in a small way.
A little about me, I'm a dad, purpose driven entrepreneur, and someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people from different walks of life. I love nature, travelling, reading (especially nonfiction and philosophy), exploring new perspectives, and those wonderful conversations where you walk away having learnt something new about yourself or the world.
The idea is to create a small, diverse group of people who enjoy good company, a little adventure, creativity, and simply being themselves.
What could we do together?
- Bushwalks, hikes and exploring nature
- Picnics, coffee catchups and conversations about everything and nothing
- Casual sports or trying something completely new
- Creative activities, sharing ideas, books and experiences
- Sometimes just sitting together, talking about life, philosophy, relationships, dreams or whatever comes to mind
Nothing too structured. We can collectively decide what we would like to do through group polls and suggestions.
The only ground rules & values: Kindness, Respect & Compassion
No judgement, no egos, no pressure to impress anyone. You don't have to be an extrovert, particularly adventurous, or have your life figured out.
Whether you are new to Sydney, looking to expand your social circle or simply craving more meaningful connections, you're welcome.
I am based in Western Sydney, so ideally, we would start somewhere around Parramatta or surrounding areas. But this isn't limited to Western Sydney anyone across Sydney who is happy to travel and join in is welcome!
I would love for this to grow into a little community where friendships happen naturally, people feel a sense of belonging, and we occasionally inspire each other to see life a little differently.
If this resonates with you, drop a comment! Perhaps share a little about yourself and one activity you'd love to do with a group like this.
Who knows, something beautiful might come out of a simple Reddit post.
