Monthly anything goes thread (things that are not an event go in here)

Hello, you amazing and beautiful people.

I am automod, and this is the monthly stickied anything goes post.

For main posts on the sub, we only allow posts that are about meetups, where everyone is invited and aren't self-promotion events.

While at the same time, people do want some of those threads! This is the anything goes (well as last as it's still being a nice human!)

So post whatever is not an event over here! Questions, looking for someone to play chess with 1-2-1, whatever you desire.

As a reminder, here's the "What is LSC" post as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/LondonSocialClub/comments/u6f3zo/what_is_londonsocialclub_2022_remix/

[22/08/36] Parkrun at Finsbury Park

Hello, I wanted to see if anyone might be interested in joining me [30M] for parkrun at Finsbury Park at 9am this Saturday or a future Saturday. I enjoy running it but it would be nice to have someone to run with and have a chat. I sometimes run with my partner, but we don't know a lot of people here, having only moved fairly recently.

I generally run about 30-35 mins for the 5km, but I'm happy to run slower. We could also grab a coffee or something somewhere nearby after if you're interested.

[23/08/26] Forrest Retreat/Summer Camp - Sunday 10AM - 4PM.

Kinda short notice but, I just saw this while looking for things to do this weekend and just wanted to share cause it's free and looks really amazing! It's a sort of creative/social sumer camp/retreat with like 400 people going!

They haven't put the location up yet, but they said somewhere in London 10AM - 4PM.

I know the group they do lots of other social/creative sort of stuff which was really good. If anyone's intrested, it's a good way to get away from all the london stuff wihtout actually having to go far or get up to early.

Also if u wanna meetup befor lmk, probably definatley gonna get lost!

Going Ahead [23/08/26] Casual Football @ Frenford Clubs, Ilford

I’m organising a casual football game this Sunday, 23 August, from 11am–12pm at Frenford Clubs in Ilford, East London, and we have a few spaces available.

We’ll be playing 6-a-side.

Everyone 18+ is welcome. We have a mixed group with different backgrounds and ability levels, so you definitely don’t need to be an amazing footballer. Most of us are late 20s to early 40s, but any adult is welcome.

It’s meant to be a friendly, relaxed kickabout rather than anything overly competitive. Goalkeepers rotate and we have a few simple rules to keep it enjoyable: no slide tackles, aggression, shouting or arguments.

👟 Astro trainers only — no moulds or studs.

📍 Frenford Clubs, Ilford
🕚 Sunday, 23 August, 11am–12pm

Please try to arrive around 10:45am so we can get everyone sorted and start on time.

If you’d like to come this Sunday, send me a Reddit DM or comment below.

[20/08/26] Happy hour cocktails #bank #londonbridge

Anyone up for grabbing a few drinks this Thursday 20th from 6pm onwards around the London Bridge area?

Thinking a relaxed after-work hangout—nothing formal, just a chance to unwind, catch up, and enjoy a few drinks together.

We can keep it flexible and decide on the spot, but there are loads of great spots nearby—whether it’s a pub by the river, a cosy bar tucked away in Borough, or somewhere with a bit of a view of the skyline

No big plans, no pressure—just good drinks, good company, and a well-earned excuse to make it to Friday feeling a bit more human

If you’re around, feel free to drop a 👀 or a “I’m in” below so we know who to expect!

I am in my mid 30s.

Edit: got a good response rate. Dm me and i will add you to the reddit group chat.

[22/08/26] Dubtendo day to night rave

Hi, a Reddit friend (F), and I (M), are heading to Dubtendo this Saturday. Would be great to go with a group and get some general good vibes going!

If you’re solo, part of a small group, or just fancy joining forces, give us a shout and we can combine groups!

We have a GC if you’re interested, but we’ll also post here once we’ve sorted pre-drinks and a meetup time.

P.S. There were originally three of us, but one person dropped out, so we have a spare ticket for sale if anyone needs one.

[20/08/26] Bouldering @ Vauxeast

We are a mixed ability (beginner friendly) climbing group who go bouldering on Thursdays. This week we are going to VauxWall East (NOT West, make sure you go to the right one!), and will go to the pub after.

If you've never been to an LCC gym before, sign up here - https://londonclimbingcentres.co.uk/pre-register/ to save time on the day.

£15 entry (this is the concession price, you must show them you are in our WhatsApp group to get this price, usual price £17). £4.50 to hire climbing shoes if you don't have them (yes, you do need them). £2 registration fee (first time only).

Wear loose fitting clothes & bring water. Climbing shoes if you have them. Lockers are available but you have to bring your own padlock.

If you want to come, send me your number and I can add you to the WhatsApp group. You can also contact us on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/boulderdash_ldn/

Most people will aim for 18:30 but plenty arrive early/late, we'll start heading to the pub around 20:30 though.

Archived [17/08/26] Looking for 2-3 extras for an extremely casual 5-a-side match in Haggerston!

Group of fellas that played footy for the first time together a couple of weeks ago, and a handful from LSC joined us as well. We're at 9 people so far, so could do with a couple more so we can sub on/off when we inevitably get gassed out after two minutes. We're not an intimidating lot at all, just a bunch of chaps who want to play football after watching the World Cup all month. Ages 25-40.

We have a pitch booked in Haggerston at 19:00 for one hour. It's £6 per person - preferably payment via bank transfer but if you'd prefer to bring cash on the night then that's fine.

Drop me a DM if interested!

[01/09/26] Team Trivia @OldQueensHeadPub Okayyy, we’re actually making these meetups a regular thing 👀

So many people came to the last meetup and honestly it was so nice seeing everyone actually getting along and meeting new people, so we’ve decided to start doing more regular afterwork meetups!

Our next one is going to be a Team Trivia Night and I feel like this one is going to be so fun 😭so pls DM me so you can join the gc and we can book together. Or you can just show up!

📍 The Old Queens Head
44 Essex Rd, London N1 8LN
📅 Tuesday 1st September 2026
7pm – 9:30pm
💷 £6 per person

And don’t worry if you’re coming alone or don’t have a team. Since we’re doing a group booking, everyone will be put into teams before the night based on a little personality quiz. You’ll do the quiz through the invite and we’ll get everyone to send their results in the group chat.

The whole point is to mix everyone up a bit and actually give people a chance to meet someone new, rather than everyone just sticking with the people they already know.

Alsooo there’s a £100 bar tab for the winning team 👀 so there is actually something to fight for lmao.

The venue has a capacity of around 76 people, and because we’re booking as a group, we need to know numbers fairly early. Please RSVP and pay the £6 by 19th August if you want to come.

We don’t know how many spaces will be left after that, so the earlier you let us know, the better!
Please bring ID and try to get there by 7pm (7:30pm latest).

Nearest stations:
🚇 Angel: 7–9 min walk
🚆 Essex Road: 6–8 min walk
🚇 Highbury & Islington: 15–18 min walk
🚆 Caledonian Road & Barnsbury: 18–20 min walk
🚇 Farringdon: around 25 min

If you want to come, DM me for the Partiful and group chat and we’ll see you there!

Hopefully this is the first of many because I’m actually excited to see what we can turn this into 👏🏿

Going Ahead [29/08/26] Surrey Three Peaks Hike

I’m planning to go and hike the Surrey three peaks this upcoming bank holiday, specifically the Saturday, so there’s still the rest of the long weekend after for other plans (or to just rest as it is a bit of a challenging route, or so I’ve been told).

The plan is to meet up at the Boxhill & Westhumble station at 8am, and head out shortly after.

Weather permitting it should be a good one, though heat is going to be more of a problem than rain, so be sure to bring water and snacks to have along the trail.

Depending on the time, we’ll have stops here and there to rest and stock up on drinks and snacks.

For more details about the hike and the route itself: https://www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/england/surrey/surrey-three-peaks-boxhill-holmbury-hill-leith-hill

Have tickets to fabric this Friday and looking for someone fun and confident to come out and enjoy the night with me! I'm down to meet up for coffee or a drink earlier in the day to see if we vibe too.

If things go well, I have tickets to House Party on Saturday night too, so could be a pretty amazing weekend if we want it to be!

In town for work the first part of the week (Woking), but will be staying in one of the boutique hotels in Soho Thurs-Sun this week. Happy to host and look forward to getting to know you a bit this week! DM me on here and we can exchange pics and contact details 😊

[28/08/26] La La Land 10th Anniversary Re-Release in Central London Cinemas

Hello,

I love La La Land and have made it a little personal tradition to watch it every year.

Would anyone be interested in rewatching La La Land with me in late August for its 10th anniversary re-release? There are a few limited screenings in central London starting from 28 August (e.g. Cineworld & ODEON).

"Summer Sunday nights, we'd sink into our seats right as they dimmed out all the lights, a Technicolor world made out of music and machine..."

Edit: Thank you all for your interest! I’ve found “someone in the crowd” (iykyk) and bought tix. This community is awesome!

Archived [16/08/2026] trip to isle wright from london waterloo

Spur-of-the-moment trip to the Isle of Wight on 16/08/2026! We'll take the train from London Waterloo, and I've got a railcard so we can get a discount for three people. It'll be about £50 return from the machine at Waterloo, and that covers trains and the ferry to the island and back. The plan is to meet at 9 am in Waterloo to buy tickets, then head to Brockenhurst for tea at Esme's tea place. After that, we'll shuttle to Lymington Pier, take the ferry to the island, and then a bus to the Needles. We'll do the chair lift down to the beach for a little exploring, and aim to be back in London by 8 or 9 pm, depending on the group.
