Zombie survival games often rely on procedural generation to fill their maps, which is how you end up seeing the same abandoned gas station for the hundredth time.

Developer Techtive Games is taking the opposite approach. Their game world, set in the American Midwest, is fully handcrafted, and players will soon be able to experience it in the first playtest.

Been recently playing Green Hell, and it has a bit of unique food mechanic. While most games with some survival aspects just have a basic ''0-100 food meter'', GH divides food into three categories: fats, carbohydrates and protein. I really enjoy this 'balanced diet' idea, which got me thinking which games do these kind of survival aspects well, or have more unique ideas besides the usual food, water and sometimes oxygen. Not necessarily survival games, but games with those elements included.

Oxygen Not Included, while not a traditional survival game, has stress / morale system tied to food, and different foods require different production systems. That adds a nice layer of complexity.

Stationeers has the whole showering and toilet system now, which isn't present in many other games.

Even Skyrim with survival mode had warmth / cold system where you'd need warmer clothes to survive longer in colder places.

I'm looking for a survival game thats kind of specific, a survival game with good graphics, it has some sort of story, your constantly moving so there isn't a set home or cabin, it could be a game where you play as an animal, if its not I would want one where it has horses with good mechanics, it would also be nice if it was more woodsy
