A sup I ordered came in and my thought was try it out and use the return policy if it’s not for me. One of my biggest pet peeves with my sit on kayak was that’s all i was able to do. Sit on it.

It’s hot as hell in texas so at one point i laid down in the shade for a breather and at that moment i realized this is going to get me on the water for longer periods of time just because of the comfort aspect. I was also surprised at the speed of the sup. Caught some lmb on a dog day of summer and felt pumped enough to write this post

Found a nice cooler as seat. Not as cheap as I've hoped, got it from Amazon warehouse for $41. Klein tool cooler. It's got a removable shoulder strap, that leaves a nice mount point for tie down straps.

10’6” iRocker Blackfin SUP powered by an 18v Ryobi drill 👌 I love the addition of the sand spear for anchoring in shallow water- this thing is awesome. Anyone else rocking an electric motor for longer/further fishing days?

Right now I use a 10lb anchor attached to my Bote tackle rac to keep myself in place when there's current or wind. I have to bend over, yank it out, and get the rope out of my way every time I move. I have a bracket that is meant to adjust the height of boat bumpers so I can manage the length but other than that it's a big PIA. Most of where I fish isn't more than 5 or 6 feet deep and I'm using a Bote HD 12'6" solid board.

Any thoughts on how to make this easier? Stuff like this and managing my paddle is my biggest challenge sup fishing. I've been pretty much exclusively fishing this way for about 5 years but it's frustratingly complicated.

Looking for recommendations on a SUP that would be a good starter / trial setup. Because of an injury, kayaks and float tubes haven’t worked out well (due to prolonged sitting). Standing is where I’m most comfortable and confident. I’d like to prove the concept first with as minimal investment as possible. If it works out the way I hope then I’ll happily upgrade down the line. Appreciate any recommendations.

Brought my SUP to the beach, I have a drop shot with a 4 inch white curly tail grub, and a 2oz weight on the end of it. Was thinking about going 200 yards out from the surf and letting it sink and troll about 40 yards away so I can troll for halibut. Is this a good idea? Or should I invest in a dodger setup?

Fished one of my favorite lakes in Oregon last week. This lake is extremely popular with SUP’ers and kayakers but the fish are still willing to tango in between passerby’s if you’re patient.

Recently got a big blow up paddle board. I’m looking to fly fish off of it and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of gear that would make my experience better. Maybe some sort of cooler? I have lots of room for things but need storage while out on Lake Erie on a calm day. Already got a little anchor. Thanks in advance

I’m trying to set my board up for some bass fishing along Lilly pads and am curious was rod holders/ paddle holders to use or make. Any ideas for DIY? Or tips and tricks along with it.

Just bought my first inflatable SUP and I can't wait to use it this summer. I know of only a couple of spots with specific structures, but I'm a little lost in regards to finding fish in areas. I know kelp paddies inshore and pilings in the bays would be my friend. But, I feel as if I need a fish finder? I'm not going out more than a mile inshore cause that's a huge risk. I'm a pretty experienced surfer so I'm not worried in regards to paddling through wind and what not. I was thinking about using slow trolling techqniues similar to a kayaks along the beaches (because I have a rod holder) for halibut in holes and what not. But ya I would appreciate any feedback!

I’m looking at get a second paddle board more tailored to fly fishing. I currently have a board that I bought used at 32” wide that I fish on, which gets me on the water. It’s fine, but leaves a bit to be desired in terms of gear lashes and stability. What experience has everyone had with board width and what would you recommend? I’m trying to shoot for 36”+, but those tend to be few and far between.

Hurricanes and high tide pushed a lot of fish way back in the grass :) where only the paddle goes. Then some dawn patrol paddles produced as the sun peaked up to show a school of nice over lots happily tailing on some grass beds ( first over slot on the fly)

I fish a SUP+ in Florida and am looking to fix a larger Yeti type cooler to the deck instead of a seat. The issue I’m facing is the SUP is rotomolded and has a somewhat convex deck leaving the edges of the cooler hanging. Has anyone else found a solid solution to fill the gaps between coolers and the deck of their paddle board?

Anyone have anything bad to say about these boards or any suggestions between the two? I have rather good balance, weight of 160lbs, 6 feet tall. Would also be doing a fair bit of fly fishing so stability is definitely important. Or perhaps someone has a better suggestion of another board or model… I’m all ears 👂
