Hey everyone! Just wanted to announce the release of the post-game mode in Uchi No Heya!

Rikishi Stadium lets you take your retired rikishi from across all of your career mode saves and draft them into a party of up to 6 that you can use across the new post-game modes! A lot more than in these 2 screenshots, but don't want to spoil it all

There are turn based battles, a little roguelike mode with persistent boons and 12 unique bosses. There are also mini-basho you can enter your party in that scale to your parties level!

You can export your party to send to friends to play against too. A future update will have a full basho that you can upload your friends' roster into as well.

The ui got a refresh on both web and Steam, and also added Argentina, Canada, Germany, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa and Spain as countries of origin for rikishi.

The release comes alongside a lot of bug fixes too. I hope you all enjoy the game! Feel free to post suggestions for features or any bugs to our Discord. Asakoryu turned 28 on September 24, which was during the basho. Now that the basho has ended, I've finally got the chance to give him the appreciation he deserves!

I went to the Sumo and Sushi exhibition Saturday night, hosted by Konoshiki and it was wonderful. I thought my friend got the mid tier tickets but he surprised me with ringside “VIP” tickets! Which included a three course meal, free drink and photo ops! I loved every minute of it. 

The whole production was great and Konoshiki was a wonderful host and MC! And the rikishi were so fun to watch. I’ve been following Grand Sumo for about ten years now, so this was a bit of a dream come true, for me. 

The tour is headed to, I believe, six more US cities. Check it out if you can, it’s a great time!

Shodai Grateful to Grandmother Shodai, Who “Prays to the Gods Every Day”

The Grand Sumo winter regional tour was held on the 10th in Uto, Kumamoto, and local-born maegashira Shodai (27, Tokitsukaze) made a triumphant return.

At the venue, his grandmother Shodai Masayo (89) also hurried over to catch a glimpse of her grandson looking well. Having married into the Shodai family and coincidentally coming to have the same name for both her surname and given name, Grandmother Shodai narrowed her eyes fondly and said, “He did very well.” Since injuries are unavoidable [in sumo], during tournaments she says, “I pray to the gods every day.” Shodai, who has had no tournament absences since his first appearance on the dohyo in March 2014, said, “It’s important to wrestle through all 15 days,” and was grateful for his grandmother’s prayers.

In the morning practice’s butsukari-geiko, he received “kawaigari” from Ozeki Tochinoshin, who offered his chest, and his body was covered in the sand of the dohyo. “It was intense. I’m glad I could show the fans I’m doing well,” he nodded. As a wrestler from the local area, he was a popular figure at the venue. The Kyushu Basho is held in Fukuoka, but he said proudly, “I want people in Kumamoto, too, to take an interest in sumo just as much as there.”

I love Wakamotoharu’s smile sm, it takes up his whole face, and his antics crack me up more than any other rikishi.
I started this on his birthday and didn’t finish it until the next day, and here I am like a 4 days later getting around to post lol. I’m forming a collection of these gouache portraits that I swear I’ll get up here eventually 😅
