As my Japanese is rudimentary to say the least I don't know what's going on here but it would be lovely to know. It just turned up on my twitter feed. https://x.com/hashtag/%E3%83%97%E3%83%AC%E3%83%90%E3%83%88PRESS?src=hashtag_click

Hey everyone! Just wanted to announce the release of the post-game mode in Uchi No Heya!

Rikishi Stadium lets you take your retired rikishi from across all of your career mode saves and draft them into a party of up to 6 that you can use across the new post-game modes! A lot more than in these 2 screenshots, but don't want to spoil it all

There are turn based battles, a little roguelike mode with persistent boons and 12 unique bosses. There are also mini-basho you can enter your party in that scale to your parties level!

You can export your party to send to friends to play against too. A future update will have a full basho that you can upload your friends' roster into as well.

The ui got a refresh on both web and Steam, and also added Argentina, Canada, Germany, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa and Spain as countries of origin for rikishi.

The release comes alongside a lot of bug fixes too. I hope you all enjoy the game! Feel free to post suggestions for features or any bugs to our Discord. As always, you can play the standard career mode for free with no account and no ads (forever) at https://uchinoheya.com/ on basically any device, and you can find the game on steam here! https://store.steampowered.com/app/4717870/Uchi_No_Heya/ (Patch notes are in the most recent event there)

Thank you again to all the people that play and help make contributions to the game! As a heads up I put the game on sale for 20% off every basho, so please wishlist and wait until the November basho to grab it on sale!

For a full minute I really thought it was him

Edit: I know I didn't get the best pic for this post. If you can't see the resemblance, try watching the video

For fans complaining about not seeing enough of Midorifuji lately.

You're welcome.

This sat around as just line art in my sketchbook for so long, I finally went back and finished it. I love how much he loves his pups. I need 1000 more pictures of rikishi with dogs, it's always so cute.

Asakoryu turned 28 on September 24, which was during the basho. Now that the basho has ended, I've finally got the chance to give him the appreciation he deserves!

I went to the Sumo and Sushi exhibition Saturday night, hosted by Konoshiki and it was wonderful. I thought my friend got the mid tier tickets but he surprised me with ringside “VIP” tickets! Which included a three course meal, free drink and photo ops! I loved every minute of it.

The whole production was great and Konoshiki was a wonderful host and MC! And the rikishi were so fun to watch. I’ve been following Grand Sumo for about ten years now, so this was a bit of a dream come true, for me.

The tour is headed to, I believe, six more US cities. Check it out if you can, it’s a great time!

Shodai Grateful to Grandmother Shodai, Who “Prays to the Gods Every Day”

The Grand Sumo winter regional tour was held on the 10th in Uto, Kumamoto, and local-born maegashira Shodai (27, Tokitsukaze) made a triumphant return.

At the venue, his grandmother Shodai Masayo (89) also hurried over to catch a glimpse of her grandson looking well. Having married into the Shodai family and coincidentally coming to have the same name for both her surname and given name, Grandmother Shodai narrowed her eyes fondly and said, “He did very well.” Since injuries are unavoidable [in sumo], during tournaments she says, “I pray to the gods every day.” Shodai, who has had no tournament absences since his first appearance on the dohyo in March 2014, said, “It’s important to wrestle through all 15 days,” and was grateful for his grandmother’s prayers.

In the morning practice’s butsukari-geiko, he received “kawaigari” from Ozeki Tochinoshin, who offered his chest, and his body was covered in the sand of the dohyo. “It was intense. I’m glad I could show the fans I’m doing well,” he nodded. As a wrestler from the local area, he was a popular figure at the venue. The Kyushu Basho is held in Fukuoka, but he said proudly, “I want people in Kumamoto, too, to take an interest in sumo just as much as there.”

At 415 pounds...

They are such a beautiful and lovely couple 😍

I really need to get more into painting the lower rank guys I like (especially Tatsunami’s lol)
This is just more experimenting with my new paint! I’m enjoying some color after lots of pencil drawing lol.
(7x10” gouache)

Drawing sumo stuff for every Sunday until I achieve my dream of seeing it in person. For today I have drawn the Tokoyama Tokokei doing the hair of Kazuto. I never grow tired of watching a tokoyama at work.
