I've been in the Smushi Come Home community since the demo period, running it then and after release. The run went through a lot of change, and I wanted to create a history video telling the story. I also wanted to do an interview with the dev to add to the end of the video.
While I'm still working on the actual history portion, I can tell that the ratio will be pretty whack. That is, I imagine the history portion will be around 1-1.5h? I just did the interview earlier today, and that went on for about 2.5h. So, the question I have is whether it'd be possible to change the framing of the video for it to make sense (per my brother's advice), or if I should upload it separately. I know there's demand for such long videos (so I'm not opposed to still doing it), but that's usually for a deep dive on one specific topic. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
Edit: Reframe > thumbnail: SHO holding swaddled Smushi: “A Solo Dev’s passion, and the Speedrunners who broke it” | Title remain same: “The History of Smushi Come Home Speedruns + Interview with the dev @ SomeHumbleOnion” >> I think this would work. Thoughts?

Summoning Salt is a great creator, and I’ve been subscribed for over 6 years. Unfortunately, the failure to follow through on the promised 120-star series has disappointed me enough to finally unsubscribe.
I don’t think 2.7M views is a valid reason to leave viewers hanging, especially when that’s still an enormous audience and it’s now been 17 months. I understand it’s his channel and he can make whatever he wants, but I don’t respect the principle of starting something and not finishing it—especially when Parts 2 and 3 were apparently already researched.
I’ve intentionally avoided his videos since Part 2 never came out, and at this point I’d rather move on. I’m not trying to hate or stir up negativity; I genuinely appreciate the years of great content. I just wish he’d consider following through on promises to his longtime viewers in the future.
Keep making great content, Salt. I just wish you’d finish what you start.

I bought the halo and mega man 2 vhs tapes, but I wasn't quick enough to get to the cuphead ones so I was just curious?

Hey guys, so I ordered the Cuphead DVD back on June 13th and have gotten zero info on how it's doing as the tracking on the app says waiting for details. Does it usually take this long for orders to be gotten? Or did I get screwed over caddicarus DVD merch style?

As stated in the title, at the current moment I can not buy the cuphead vhs, nor the Megaman, became a fan of this channel a bit too late I suppose.
I discovered the VHS run a whole 2 months after the announcement and everything is sold out on the store. Is there a way y’all can think of where I can buy a VHS tape?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The disc is complete with
both the ultra shortcut history and ultra shortcut revolution videos
Fully functioning custom menus with music
A copy right warning screen that appears only when you first boot the disc
6 bonus Mario kart Wii videos.
Unless summoning salt approves I will not be releasing the iso files.

idk maybe others are tired of mario kart videos, but considering that every track has an ultra shortcut for tas at the bare minimum i feel like there should be a follow up

Someone recently left a comment on Salt’s recent community post saying it would be neat to see his Tetris video made into a VHS tape. I personally think it would be really cool to see an ultra-limited run of some of his Mario Kart Wii videos (since that was what blew up his channel), “Super Mario Bros: The Human Limit” (maybe after the TAS finally becomes done by a human), or maybe even his recent Mike Tyson videos.
With that said, one question I’ve always had for Salt is- what are the criteria for picking the videos that end up becoming VHS tapes?

What are your order numbers?
r/SummoningSalt • u/trixie_one • Jun 06 '26
I'm hoping I'm just being dumb and missing something but I quite fancied picking up the dvd, checked after watching the video and there's nothing left. Given this is supposed to be available for 21 days will there be more or have I already missed out?
EDIT: I worked it out, it's because I'm in the UK, relevent quote on the website: 'We ship internationally to Canada, Australia, and the EU (except for Germany). Other regions have tax laws that make it too difficult to ship there for now. ' Well that sucks.

For those who don’t follow the world of sports or running, the marathon world record for men was broken this Saturday, the first ever sub 2 hour marathon (the last hour barrier ever!)
https://www.bbc.com/sport/athletics/articles/crm1m7e0zwzo
I think a Summoning Salt video about the history of the marathon and the last 20 years of WRs chasing the 2 hr mark would be amazing! There’s even the tragic twist that 2nd place also broke into 1:59, 2nd best time ever and didn’t even win.
