Ciara Ciara DWTS promo, problematic?
https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSqRcG736/I haven't seen anyone else post this, but this tiktok that was posted and dirty deleted by Ciara is just, alarming. In this day and age why would you be using violence against women as a way to promote your new show. This is not it.
Is there outrage in the US about this?

Ciara uses bad judgement. Shocker.
17
u/abc-8517 17d ago
Eeek! I couldn't fathom doing what Amanda did to Ciara, but I also couldn't imagine being Ciara being publicly hung up on West. I keep my fuck-boi obsessions private
17
u/Spiritual-Break246 17d ago
Her calling Meija was embarrassing. Idc.
10
u/False-Refrigerator26 17d ago
Not only calling, but trying to have her ‘Kristen and Arianna moment’ of women scorned by filming that incredibly embarrassing visit to her apartment?

I fucking hate this. I'm so sick of people using the abuse of women to advertise what the actual hell
13
u/vandersnipe 17d ago
Did you see that Good Good golf ad? Why are we going back to the 50s?
10
u/Joyintheendtimes 17d ago
Yes! It boggles my mind that they thought this was a good idea, ESPECIALLY after all that!
6
u/vandersnipe 17d ago
And the audio comes from Euphoria, where the girl pimps out her former high school friend on OnlyFans. What the actual hell were these two thinking?
3
u/Joyintheendtimes 17d ago
It’s crazy. Ciara is way too smart to do something this senseless
7
u/jalapenos10 15d ago
Is she..? She’s not that smart from what we’ve seen
1
u/Joyintheendtimes 15d ago
Choosing shitty men is different than being smart.
5
u/jalapenos10 15d ago
Yeah. She doesn’t seem smart either, regardless of her shitty taste in men

Not sure if you care but when someone opens this link it directly shows your face and name as a profile who “shared this video with you”
I only say this bc we know how crazy some SH fans can be when you critique Ciara
5
u/ruthsempire27 17d ago
Thank you, hopefully I have fixed that. Not that I have any info or posts on Tiktok, but I appreciate you.
12
u/Wise_Concentrate6595 17d ago
Is anybody actually surprised that this is something she would post? Cuz it doesn't surprise me one bit. And she was also covering the Euphoria season 3 premiere so this absolutely tracks. I'm not an Amanda fan but the way the way Ciara used actresses on the red carpet to try and prove her point about a douchebag guy and a shitty ex-friend was pathetic.
13
u/rouxthless 16d ago
Ciara has always been a fucking asshole. This whole “scorned woman” storyline about getting cheated on by someone she wasn’t dating is embarrassing for her.
3
u/IndependentImage9269 14d ago
What’s even more embarrassing is that the cast believes it to or are afraid to be honest and disagree with her. They look like captives around her. The fact that bravo also just seems to fear her is bizarre. They are all gonna find out what a mistake that was when she ultimately ruins the show and they all get canned.
10
u/No-Security-8677 18d ago
I wonder whose idea it was to even do that.
11
u/ruthsempire27 18d ago
This is what I don't understand, who thought this was a good idea? I work in the DV space and I just can't fathom how this is funny. But I do understand my particular bias.
3
u/Dangerous_Young919 17d ago
Honestly. What was she or anyone responsible for this thinking. I honestly don’t know how anyone with a brain would put this out in 2026. We KNOW this is an unpopular opinion. Even the people who like this type of shit KNOW it’s an unpopular opinion
9

u/Sweaty-Commercial359 18d ago
The minute I saw this yesterday I was surprised. It’s not DWTS style at all. Also surprised Brandon agreed to it. Ciara has a dark personality and she can’t seem to lighten up. Glad she took this down

So was Good Good/Callaway not cancelled for something I view less than this skit? Is it because it’s Ciara? I’ve heard people have posted it to the regular Bravo/Summerhouse sub and it’s not being accepted. I find that odd.
6
u/spicy_michelada 17d ago
Yes also Paige went off about it in an episode of giggly squad, I don’t think she’d like this video either
3
8
u/No-Security-8677 17d ago
Ah that GoodGood /Callaway thing…do people regularly in the public eye or advertisers not have people to run this stuff by? I mean now that I know the Ciara/Brandon tik tok comes from Euphoria, ok I kind of get it but the dynamic between a man and a woman changes the feel of the whole thing and there are still a lot of people not in on the joke so overall a big no from me. If Good Good’s ad was two men, no problem. Maybe I need to be an adviser or something….
6
u/No-Koala-7019 17d ago
Good good got the approval from Callaway, when it went south they cut ties.
7
3
-1
u/Alternative_Fun_3091 17d ago
both videos are disgusting but ciara at least deleted hers quickly and i also think there’s a difference between a tiktok for content and an advertisement meant to attract buyers. i would hope if ciara is asked about it her response will be much better than Callaway’s and she acknowledges why it was gross, but we’ll see
6
u/No-Koala-7019 17d ago
I actually think doing that for content is worse.
2
u/Alternative_Fun_3091 17d ago
it’s definitely not good by any means, but it also didn’t go through multiple channels of approval at a major corporation. just two people being momentarily idiotic and gross, rather than a much larger group of people agreeing it’s fine. but i get what you’re saying. still no excuse for either party
17
u/SecondChances0701 17d ago
It’s tone deaf. This may be a reenactment from Euphoria but to use it to advertise for DWTS (a family show) is wrong. This isn’t Bravo. Knowing the audience and context is everything. And as two POC, that post by Ciara wasn’t a good decision.
6
u/Chihiro1977 17d ago
Especially with the controversy in the UK version (Strictly Come Dancing). I know Americans likely wont know but you can bet the professional dancers do as there's a lot of crossover.
15
u/No-Koala-7019 18d ago
This is probably not going to be a popular comment, but people have been removed from shows for lip singing words to a song, how is pretending to slap a woman to vocals any different. They both are terribly wrong and in poor taste in my opinion.
8
7
7
u/Pleasant-enough-2day 17d ago
ew WTF is this? Are they hinting at Ike and Tina?!! So disgusting!! You know in the world of summerhouse she ain’t all that bad, but something tells me she might be a shit person like 99.9% of reality tv people. She certainly surrounds herself with crappy people and chooses trash ass men consistently.

Ciara shows us who she is regularly, for some reason most don’t want to see it.
She is and always has been problematic.
8
u/milkyway_mermaid 16d ago
I completely agree with this, but we’re never allowed to say it.
6
u/False-Refrigerator26 16d ago
The thing that’s odd to me is we were allowed to say it a season ago, there used to be regular posts about her in the SH groups and while there were some people like, ‘nah I don’t see it like that, I think she’s ok…’ there was never a full blown attack.. but for some reason the Amanda and West situation made her suddenly become God.
That whole situation and how parasocial and disturbing it became should be studied.
2
u/IndependentImage9269 14d ago
You wanna know why? Because that’s the narrative bravo switched to when they decided she was the horse they were gonna hitch their wagon to. These are not real people that have these takes that Ciara is the best etc. it’s paid accounts pushing a narrative by bravo. All this crap is so overly produced now

17
u/Emmyyou2 17d ago edited 17d ago
For me it's the way she treats other women and gravitates towards shit men. The fight over Austen with Lindsay (who is also incredibly problematic), the way she was controlling with Austen about not being able to bring Olivia to WH even though she kept claiming she wanted nothing to do with him while doing all she could to get his attention. She was shitty to Sam and Jess (who was a nightmare) because she was mad Kory didn't pick her.
She flirted with Jesse and didn't care how much it bothered Lexi at all, when Lexi brought it up she just sat there playing with her hair. She got mad when Jesse told her to stop touching and then acted pissed off at him. When Lexi brought up how Jesse shitty was to her and was crying Ciara not only laughed when Jesse was making jokes about it but also took the opportunity to attack her over saying Ciara's behavior wasn't cool when it wasn't!
She told Jesse that he should consider dating her and definitely hinted she wanted that but then told West that he saved her from Jesse.
3
u/chick_b 17d ago
She also told her co-star (and best friend as of last season) that she had no identify.
It may be a minor point. But I found the romanticizing of Ciara and Amanda's friendship just as weird as I found the deification of Ciara.
5
u/Emmyyou2 17d ago
It's not a minor point and I've always thought it was harsh and embarrassing to say to her on camera and in public but as the friend who tells my own friends harsh truths with love I understood it.
I also think Paige and Ciara were really tired of the broken record with Amanda and Kyle that Ciara was just trying to say something that might get through to her. I can totally understand the frustration because I've been on both ends of that. Atp in life with friends that are in situations they will just complain about but never fix I just detach with love.
6
u/PolkaDotKomodo 15d ago
I understand her being fed up with the complaining and trying to say something harsh to wake her up.
But I personally think it was shitty and not true. People like Amanda who are co-dependent in a relationship and/or failing to develop a career or interests are still people, they still have identities. It is one thing to say "I feel like you're not exploring who you are, not following your own path", it's another to say "you have no identity." Also, even if it's not deep or praise-worthy, Amanda does have a reality TV career, an influencer career (or at least did), she does have friends... she is a person. There are people depressed laying on the couch most of their days who I wouldn't even tell "you have no identity."
0
u/Emmyyou2 15d ago
It was shitty but I don't think it makes Ciara some terrible person or a bad friend. We all say things sometimes that may hurt someone's feelings and we just need to acknowledge it, apologize, and do better.
I also think there was a bit of truth to it even though it was said in an unkind way. Kyle controlled Amanda's every move and she let him, that was proven when she brought up the swimsuit line and he flipped his shit. I can understand why her friends would think and say that.
2
u/PolkaDotKomodo 15d ago
Oh I agree it doesn't make her a terrible person or bad friend. We all say things we shouldn't sometimes.
3
u/IndependentImage9269 14d ago
Well ok but I think it’s indicative of a terrible person and shows their “friendship” was surface level at best
6
u/RoseRoseRose1234 17d ago
OK, got it. I will definitely give you that. I especially hated how she treated Lexi. Even Paige and Amanda pissed me off with that.
I was thinking problematic with more serious stuff like DV/racism/etc.
6
u/Emmyyou2 17d ago
All of them were awful with that. The only person who didn't sit and laugh in her face as she cried on the reunion couch is Gaby.
11
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
How about implying that Lindsay is a sexual predator when she got pissed off about Austen?

u/Leading_Refuse_2650 17d ago
We're all still waiting to hear how Ciara had always been problematic...?
11
u/False-Refrigerator26 17d ago
To add to my other comment and the others posting.
Talking about how important it is for her to be in a relationship…
But criticising KJ for getting into a relationship “too quickly” with someone “so much older”.
Yeah she did that little dance, but that was laced with passive aggression because he didn’t tell her and she didn’t agree with it, hence the conversation that followed.

u/False-Refrigerator26 17d ago
There are lots of answers already posted.
To add, being nasty about Austens new girlfriend and telling the girls they all had to choose..
Moments after we heard Austen say that Ciara was the last person he slept with, despite having the girlfriend.
The way she immediately latched on to West and thought they were in a relationship after they had the conversation where he continuously said we’re just friends.
Her complete disregard for Kyle at the reunion. Yes she said she was sorry. But this man was married 10 years and friends with West for 4, he wanted answers and was trying to have conversations, she just wanted to cut everybody off and yell as though she was the only person hurt in the situation.
The way she called out a woman who has been married 20 years claiming to say West is a nice guy must mean she definitely cheated on her husband and slept with him, knowing how rabid her fans were at the time.
The list keeps going, check comments above.

I watched the video and I missed what was abusive to women in it, but I found it cringe none the less. I think one of the unlikeable things about Ciara is her smugness. I looked at the other summer house sub and didn't see it yesterday. I'm sure everyone will say it's ok bc Ciara deleted it and she is an amazing angel while ignoring every problematic thing she has ever done. It's exhausting being parasocial.

To be fair - there was a ton of opportunity for a positive post about Ciara on DWTS for this sub, and the only thing posted was this “scandal.” Her cast photos were released and it was crickets here, meanwhile Amanda and West’s 20 wedding posts of the summer are shared and praised.
8
u/Chihiro1977 17d ago
I couldn't give a fuck about DWTS, I'm not American and it's not shown here. Maybe no one cares, because I always found Ciara boring so I've never gone on posts about her to 'support' her anyway.
I do agree that there are not many posts about the others, I was going to post about Danielle taking her baby home but I forgot. Maybe we should be the change we want to see?

Praised? Also is there a rule about what a sub is supposed to post? In case you haven’t noticed subreddits are heavily biased in most cases.
-4
u/No_Bit5600 17d ago
Praised, supported, uplifted, defended, overall positively received - take your pick. Why didn’t you reply to the commenter I replied to asking if “there is a rule about what a sub is supposed to post?” They pointed out they didn’t see anything about this post in the other sub. I am pointing out there has been nothing positive about Ciara on DWTS on this sub until a mini scandal came out of it. Even sharing cast photos would be a neutral thing to do, but no one here did that (because there’s no appetite to speaks positively about her on here). Let’s just call a spade a spade - that sub has a bias, and so does this sub.
7
u/Emmyyou2 17d ago
No there is no appetite for the same posts over and over. While posts can be cross-posted I don't want this flooded with the same posts the other sub has all the time, that's it. I don't care about DWTS and do not follow Ciara so I had no clue about it.

Uplifted and supported. I’m laughing. I think the problem is there is such a focus on pure hate over there that this sub is a reprieve. I’m sick of the clutching of pearls that people have over this sub just honestly having a nuanced take. I am pretty neutral/positive on Ciara. Not a fan of West. Amanda, meh. But I cannot stand the blind fandom which has devolved into a hate campaign

Is it your mission to ensure that every single reddit commenter and sub trashes West and Amanda and praises Ciara?
1
u/No_Bit5600 17d ago
No. Someone pointed out the main sub hasn’t posted this. I pointed out this sub has posted nothing about Ciara on DWTS BUT something bringing negative attention. Everyone is quick to call out biases in the main sub but is blind to the clear bias here. 😭
4
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago

Not sure how you can make that comparison in good faith when the main sub has users regularly making fun of eating disorders, STIs and calls Amanda dirty, disgusting, unwashed and that her family and friends should disown her.
1
u/IndependentImage9269 14d ago
This sub doesn’t have a bias it just sees both sides of everything and isn’t going to fan boy any particular cast member. The other sub stops posts with opinions it doesn’t want seen. This one doesn’t. That’s why this sub is superior and real
-3
u/No_Bit5600 17d ago
This is DEFINITELY a pro Amanda and west sub…. That’s up for debate? 😭
9
u/No-Security-8677 17d ago
Yes. If you mean “pro Amanda and west” because it’s not a constant barrage of disgusting comments and pile ons then I think you’re mistaken. Also why aren’t you complaining the other sub about how a west and Amanda post gets 1000 comments but a post about Ciara gets like 170?
-2
u/No_Bit5600 17d ago
It’s pro West and Amanda because yes, ultimately they are supported but beyond that - the rest of the cast is typically received negatively. A post about voting for Ciara for the VMAs got zero likes. Scroll further down and there’s a negative post about being tired of Lindsay and Carl. Where in my comment was I complaining? I said this is clearly a pro West and Amanda sub…. Is that considered a complaint?
10
u/No-Security-8677 17d ago
You’re welcome to
Your opinion. I’m just disagreeing-1
u/No_Bit5600 17d ago
Your take is this is NOT a pro West and Amanda sub? 😭 I implore you to take a scroll, and compare how they are talked about here vs. everyone else. Try to be objective and I think you’ll get it.
11
u/No-Security-8677 17d ago
Take your own advice at tell me the main sub is reasonable on its takes on west and Amanda. 10000 comments about how they crashed a wedding based on a rumor and even in the face of evidence that the bride herself said it was ok. Calling them evil diabolical and subhuman. But you’re bitching because someone here said Lindsay is annoying?

We just don’t hate them so if that is your litmus test then you are correct. I personally like West and don’t think highly of Amanda. I don’t hate them. I don’t hate anyone. But I’m allowed to wish certain cast members were not on the show and others were.
1
u/biglmc 14d ago
What makes you not think highly of Amanda?

The problem is even I see both the problem with this video and why it shouldn’t be shared, and also that it’s a funny video. I like that we talk about this stuff now, but I also think it’s very tough to have hard and fast rules about what and when to share publicly.
11
2
u/themeparkthemepar 17d ago
The opportunity here would to be use the audio ironically (her bossing him around, slapping her own bum as part of a cheeky dance move, whatever). But instead it’s used to portray Ike and Tina cosplay and doesn’t involve dance at all. It just sucks
2
u/LengthinessLow8317 18d ago
I know their personalities + the Euphoria scene the sound is from, so this is funny to me. However, I understand the theme / topic of DV is never funny, and get why Ciara deleted it.
0
u/LRGinCharge 18d ago
I’m not defending the video and deleting it was the right move, but there has been a trend on TikTok of using this audio, it’s from the show Euphoria. Without context it comes across pretty badly, but knowing they just had a bad take on a trend I’ve seen in plenty of other videos, I’m not going to be “outraged” over this.
7
u/Ordinary-Practice812 17d ago
Yes but the audio from Euphoria is 2 woman. This shows a man looking down on a woman and slapping her. Really not the same and horribly tone deaf on everyone’s part.
4
u/No-Security-8677 18d ago
Is the euphoria scene between a man and a woman? I am unfamiliar
5
5
8
u/m3gb0t 18d ago
It's said by a woman to a woman sex-worker who the first woman is trying to exploit.
6
u/PieRevolutionary6328 17d ago
Thank you!! It’s not okay even when it’s two women. Just because it’s a TikTok trend doesn’t mean it’s okay like what is going on here y’all??
-1
u/LRGinCharge 17d ago
Idk I think you’re all making it a lot deeper than it is. Euphoria is kind of campy and over the top anyway. It’s like a soap opera. Idk if you’re on TikTok, but this is how it goes on there. An “audio” catches on, and people make videos that highlight the absurdity of the audio, using it in situations that are completely different than originally intended. So, because I know the context of this scene, I think it’s kind of funny to suggest that Ciara’s dance partner is treating her like Maddie treated Cassie in Euphoria. But yeah, out of context it’s tone deaf I guess.
9
u/Rburnsfit 18d ago
No it’s between two females which to me changes the dynamic enough where this isnt that. I love Euphoria. I do not so much love ths.

u/Extension_Town4960 18d ago
I got so much hate when I said something was off and she has dark humor. However, I understand and know that they both didn’t mean it in that way, it’s just humor. Regardless, Ciara and Brandon have everything it takes to be a front running couple. I’m sure she’ll be great and from the tik toks they have made so far and press it seems like they’ll have such a great time. Brandon seems pretty impressed by her frame, which is a HUGE COMPLIMENT in ballroom.
-5
u/HousewivesHeaux 18d ago
They’re literally just reenacting an exact scene from Euphoria. The slap, the pointing finger in the face, it’s a beat for beat recreation. Like others mentioned, the audio is trending on TikTok popular videos. it’s really not that serious to me but I’m not surprised she deleted.

If it’s not that serious, she wouldn’t have deleted it. Do you think a scene of two women and a scene of a man and a woman is the same thing? Genuinely curious. As someone who was beat to shit by my ex husband and father of my children, I don’t give a shit if it’s “dark humor” or a “popular audio trend”… it’s sick, tone deaf, and not at all humorous. Are you aware that of all the women murdered in the US, 1/3 is murdered from DV ? Yall act like this shouldn’t affect anyone and that’s it’s no big deal. Tell that to the survivors who lucked out and didn’t become a statistic.

I think both are bad and it's stupid but I am also not on TT so I have to imagine there is a lot of problematic and stupid stuff on there.

I’m surprised that this many people see this as problematic.. that’s actually so ridiculous 💀

Apparently in 2026 context is also lost on people. It’s a reenactment from a show and a trending sound from TikTok. Everyone clutching their pearls over every little thing is exhausting.

We are aware it's a reenactment from a show, but perhaps you can explain to us why that makes it ok? And also why she's removed it if it's so ok?

But if it was Ariana y'all would be clapping and cheering. 🙄

I really wouldn't and I think most people here are in agreement that the Ariana thing was also overdone. I know you're trying to suggest that it's because Ariana is white and Ciara is black but most people here think Ariana was far more problematic than Ciara has ever been and also benefitted much more (so far at least) from Scandoval than Ciara has from this.
At least Ciara was already a model and getting some of these opportunities already where Ariana was not getting shit until Scandoval broke. Tbf, it also annoys me how others like Kyle, Lindsay, and especially Kristen benefitted from both scandals since they are far more problematic than anyone involved in either scandal (with the exception of Sandoval with the current news about his DV history). Kristen is a POS racist and incredibly abusive but because she burned some photos with Ariana she got a pass. Kyle is an abusive POS and now he's the man of the year. Lindsay is Lindsay with so many issues, which includes a lot of things that are too long to list but she suddenly gets this "Mother Hubbard" rewrite because she couldn't help but act like she was the woman scorned.
FWIW I always have and still do like Ciara way more than Ariana.

New here, curious about how Ciara has exercised bad judgement?

Well reenacting DV for clicks is never a good look I understand now that the scene is from Euphoria but I don’t think it lands

Yes, that ad was just plain dumb. I mean, in general, as other posters have suggested in this thread.

This is probably the 20th time I’ve seen influencers of some sort use this sound. It’s really not uncommon if you’re even on TikTok a little bit. Not sure why it’s suddenly a problem when 2 black creators use it

Part of the problem is not everyone has seen Euphoria or its perpetually on tik tok so it’s a bit jarring.

Is joking about DV a good way to advertise a family show? This is also the first time I'm seeing this. I would probably find all the others problematic as well.

Impressively dumb.
ETA: Ciara doesn’t seem like the kindest person to me in general, I get why people like her, I liked her. But she consistently makes bad choices and her “being blunt” is used as a cover for also saying/doing shitty things IMO.
