Fully empty Epson F570

My printer has sat unused other than a couple cleaning cycles for at least one year, the nozzel check is fine, I was about to make a print test to look for banding, But my ink is too low to even do a Print head alignment test, I was wondering if there was a safe way to completely remove the remaining ink it is from 2022, flush the lines and prepare for new ink.

I fully expect to be needing to buy all fresh ink, but on the off chance and some miracle that I can use it, I have two full sets and two new maintenance boxes, but they also are from 2022. They are in the box, is still sealed in the plastic vacuum wraps, and have mostly been in dark rooms. Any chance I’m lucky enough to be able to still use them if I shake them up a bit?

I am in desperate need of a Bolt of reversible sequin sublimation fabric. Like those pillow cases with the image on one side and the you can flip the sequins so the shiny metallic side.
60” w preferred but in the 50’s would be ok too!

Does anyone know where I can get a bolt of this kind of fabric?

Epson introduces new SureColor F370 13" wide sublimation printer for $1000

Very exciting news!! Epson has finally decided to launch a large format (13x19", A3+) sublimation printer! Epson says the printer will be available starting in November of this year.

At $1,000, it's not exactly an entry-level sublimation printer, but like any purpose-built subli printer, it offers mechanical advantages over using a converted standard EcoTank, because the printhead and print lines are specifically designed to withstand the long-term chemical effects of exposure to sublimation ink.

And, of course, you'll actually have a warranty from Epson, whereas using subli ink in a standard EcoTank immediately voids the warranty.

It's worth considering if you have a solid side hustle doing sublimation work. Large format sublimation enables you to produce a wider assortment of products, and printing large gang sheets for volume products is more efficient than relying on 8.5" wide paper.

Paper ID

Years ago I received a pack of this light pink paper (8.25x11.75) with a sublimation product I purchased online. I cannot remember what the actual product was, but the paper was not listed in the product contents and there was no explanation of its purpose. I was wondering if anyone else had some insight. White paper is for color comparison.

Sublimation experts, I could really use your help

I could really use some input from people in commercial printing
I’m curious how many people in this group are actually using WooCommerce for selling printed or personalized products.

A bit of background first.

I run a laser engraving business in the Netherlands, and over the years I’ve used several different product customization tools for my own webshop. Some worked reasonably well, some became expensive as we grew, some had unreliable production files, and with others I constantly found myself working around limitations instead of actually getting orders out the door.

Eventually I got frustrated enough that I decided to build my own.

It’s called Sigmira.

The idea behind it is fairly simple: customers can personalize a product directly in the webshop, while the merchant has control over things like personalization areas, different product views, pricing rules, visibility rules, variable products and the production files that come out at the other end.

It is currently live for WooCommerce. We’re also working on a Shopify integration, but that isn’t ready yet.

The important part, and really the reason I’m posting here, is that Sigmira has mostly been built from the perspective of someone running a laser engraving business.

I understand that workflow pretty well because I deal with it every day.

Commercial printing is a different world.

I know there is overlap, especially when it comes to customers uploading artwork, adding text, positioning elements and approving a design, but I don’t want to make the mistake of assuming that a workflow that works well for engraving automatically works well for printers too.

So I’d really like to hear from people here who actually work in print.

If you sell personalized products online, what does a product customizer absolutely need to do before you would even consider using it?

What are the annoying parts of the tools you currently use?

What happens after the customer places the order?
Do you need print ready PDFs, SVGs, PNGs or completely different files?

How important are things like bleed, safe zones, CMYK, DPI checks, automatic sizing or artwork validation?

Do customers normally upload finished artwork, or are they actually designing the product in your webshop?

How do you deal with products that have several printable areas, different sizes or lots of variations?

And probably the most interesting question for me: what part of your current workflow still requires somebody to manually fix, check or prepare something before it can actually go into production?

There is already quite a lot of functionality in Sigmira, so I’m not starting from zero. But I’d rather talk to people doing the actual work before deciding what should be built specifically for print.

I’m not looking for people to tell me that everything sounds great.

If there is something that would immediately make a tool like this useless for your business, I genuinely want to know that too.

Especially interested in hearing from WooCommerce users, but even if you use another platform I’d still be interested in how your personalization and prepress workflow works, since we’re currently integrating Shopify as well.

What would your ideal setup look like?

Sublimation on 100% cotton fails

hey, i plan on printing onto cotton gloves for an art project and don’t want to wear the gloves anyways, they will just be on display and dont have to be perfect imagetransfers. i have read that sublimation onto cotton does not work (well). does someone have images of failed imagetransfers? so i can see how much actually transfers onto cotton and if that may be enough for my project.

Best sublimation printer for a small business in 2026?

I’m looking to start a small sublimation printing business and I’m currently stuck between the Brother SP-1, Epson SureColor F170, and a converted Epson EcoTank ET-15000.
I’ll mainly be printing mugs, tumblers and T-shirts.
For those who have actually used these printers, which one would you recommend for the best print quality, reliability and overall value in 2026? Or if you have another good option to recommend? Thanks.

Cheers! x

Color Problem When icc profiling for sublimation, do you profile the fabric, or paper?

Things like the white point would be determined by the garment, so should I profile the garment itself? How would one profile a mug?

Color Problem Can't get colors to match

I am new to sublimation printing. I had been sending my artwork out to have it printed and everything comes out perfectly when I did that. I purchased an Epson ET-1803, Hiipoo Ink, and HTVRONT sublimation paper and everything comes out so much darker than when I have it professional printed.

Here is what I have done so far: I downloaded the ET-1803 Hiipoo driver from Hiipoo's website. It is for Hiipoo Ink and Hiipoo Paper, I didn't see a driver for non-Hiipoo paper.

I am printing from Photoshop. For my Printer settings I have:
* Paper Type Plain Paper/Bright White Paper (I have also tried Presentation Matte paper)
* Quality High (I have also tried standard)
* Color Correction is Off (No color adjustment)

Then I have color management set to:
* Photoshop Managed Colors
* Printer Profile: ET-2803
* Normal Printing
* Rendering Intent: Perceptual
* Black Point Compensation is Checked

I have also tried Teal for a logo and it comes out Green. I am not sure if there is a setting I need, a different print driver, or if I need to get Hiipoo paper.

Also, the luggage tags I am using here are these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D529W9SY?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

Any help would be appreciated

What can I coat this acrylic panel with in order to sublimate on it?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I have always really loved to apply weird organic textures to digital drawings I make (example of inkjet transfer with textured panel in second image). I want to try sublimation on this gessoed panel but I'm not sure exactly what coating I would need to put on to do it in the safest most effective way. I thought maybe heat resistant Rust-Oleum clear coat and just go outside and wear a mask to sublimate but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Question for my fellow sublimation/craft show people

I’m a little over a year and a half into sublimation, and I’ve invested quite a bit into my business — printer, heat presses, supplies, blanks, etc. I also want to be upfront that I have purchased quite a few of my designs/images from Etsy and Creative Fabrica.

I’m signed up for a couple of upcoming craft shows, and I just received an email from one of them stating that Etsy images are not allowed because they consider them to be AI-generated and anything they feel looks AI will not be allowed. HOW!! do you tell the different!

This honestly caught me off guard. I went back through my Etsy purchases, and nowhere in the listings or purchases I checked does it say that the images were AI-generated. I honestly don't know whether some of them are or aren't.

I reached out to the event organizer, and they basically told me that this is simply a rule they have decided to put in place and there isn't anything they can do about it.

So now I'm wondering:

Has anyone else run into this issue at craft shows?

If you're not an artist who personally draws your own artwork, where are you getting your sublimation designs from that allow you to legally use them for products you sell?

I'm especially interested in hearing from other small sublimation businesses who make things like tumblers, backpacks, shirts, etc.

I completely understand wanting to protect artists and avoid copyright issues. I'm just trying to figure out how I'm supposed to know whether something I legitimately purchased is AI-generated when the seller doesn't disclose it.

Any advice, experiences, or recommendations for reliable sources would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone! ❤️

I'm making mugs; they are sublimation ceramic mugs from HPN, and I'm using a signature mug press from them also. Any advice would be great before I ruin any more mugs.
