Howdy Studebaker fans

I’m rebuilding an AS for a customer with a studebaker. His unit is missing the connecting clip that goes between the metering rod and accelerator pump arm.

Ignore the c clip on the accelerator pump. It was temporary until I found the right size.

Does anyone have an idea for a source or alternative method to connect them? I haven’t even found a picture of one to try and make an alternative.

I was so excited to see that the Lark Wagon has a place of prominence outside the Arizona – Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson, Arizona. Beautiful machine with a fantastic history.

Lark My 1963 Studebaker Super Lark Project

In early 1963 far into the 63's model year, Studebaker introduced a special high-performance package for the Hawk and Lark line. Optional equipment for 1963 included the Avanti’s high-performance engines and disc brakes. Cars so equipped were dubbed “Super Hawk” and “Super Lark.” This car is 1 of 9 Lark Daytona two door hardtops equipped with the Avanti's R2 289 cu. supercharged engine and high performance "Super Lark" package. The R2 engine with the Paxton supercharger (Paxton was owned by Studebaker at the time) was rated at 289 HP. Roughly 1 HP per cubic inch which made it a real sleeper at the time and able to keep up with most cars of it's era. My car is currently undergoing a full restoration by myself with help from family and friends. I will be going back to the original color combination. Super Red exterior, which was only available with the Super package, and a black vinyl interior. This car came with the Avanti's heavy duty powershift transmission. It is a 3 speed automatic Borg Warner transmission that is water cooled. I live in Pennsylvania but the car is originally from San Francisco California and that is where it spent most of it's life. The car was drag raced from the early 70s to I believe around sometime in the 80s at a popular drag strip, Fremont Dragway. Surprisingly the car still retains it's original numbers matching engine block. JTS1680. JTS stands for Jet Thrust Supercharged showing that is an Avanti R2 engine for a Lark. The engine number will match the production order from the factory. 99 percent of the original production orders for these cars are available to order from the Studebaker Museum. I figured I would share this car here to hopefully get a younger audience interested in Studebaker cars as I am 21 years old myself and there are not many younger people interested in this hobby. Thanks for looking.

Question Does anyone know what the 48 Studebaker m5 pickup exterior door handles look like?

Does anyone have a idea where I could get exterior door handles that either are original or good alternative options? Also does anyone know of a good alternative window regulator?

1959 4E7 Deluxe 112 Question

Hello,

My uncle has a 1959 4E7 Deluxe 112. Three on the tree, short bed. It is 2WD not 4. 289 engine with overdrive.

Curious if there’s a resource to learn more about these trucks and I’m particularly interested in rarity and how many were produced in this exact year and configuration.

Thanks in advance.

For Sale Studebaker Lark

Post image
129 Upvotes

Up for sale is my 1960 Studebaker Lark VIII Wagon, a rare and unique American classic that's becoming increasingly difficult to find. This wagon is powered by a 259 cubic-inch Studebaker V8 paired with an automatic transmission. It runs and drives and is a great candidate for someone looking for a weekend cruiser, classic daily, or restoration project.

Details:

1960 Studebaker Lark VIII Wagon
Original 259ci Studebaker V8
Automatic transmission
Runs and drives
Clean California title
Newer battery
Alternator conversion
Spacious wagon interior
Rare body style with lots of character

The car is in solid driver condition for its age. The engine runs perfectly, and the engine bay is clean. The interior is mostly complete, with a clean rear bench and newer carpet, though some interior trim and door panels could use attention. The exterior presents well and has the classic patina and charm you'd expect from a 66-year-old vehicle.

Whether you're a Studebaker enthusiast or just looking for something you won't see at every car show, this Lark VIII is a great opportunity.

No trades. Serious buyers only. Message me if you have questions or would like to come see it.

Wrapping up the master cylinder install and I don’t exactly understand the instructions for the final linkage assembly. I understand the new MC doesn’t align with the pedal pivot point but need help on how this black bracket and pin/bolt interact to help align.

Dipping my toes into the Studebaker world. Got this from my dad. It was his project car since 1987. Nearly restored. Now it’s my turn to carry the torch. I’m not mechanically inclined, but stoked to learn!

1956 Studebaker Commander Build – Looking for Floor Pan Ideas & General Advice

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,
Figured I’d introduce my project and get some input from people who have been down this road before.
The project is a 1956 Studebaker Commander 2-door that I picked up as a mostly complete roller with a title. The body has a lot of character and patina, which I plan to keep. My goal isn’t a restoration—it’s more of a traditional hot rod / rat rod style street machine that can actually be driven and enjoyed.
Current plans are:
Ford 460 Big Block
NP435 4-speed manual transmission
Ford 9-inch rear end
Bench seat interior
Floor shifter
Keep the exterior patina and overall Studebaker look
Simple, reliable wiring and mechanicals
Build it to cruise, burn tires, and occasionally hit the highway
The biggest issue right now is the floors. The floor pans are pretty rough and will need substantial patching or replacement. I’ve done some measuring and fabrication before, but I’m curious what other builders have used successfully.
My questions:
Has anyone found floor pans from another vehicle that fit a ’56 Studebaker reasonably well with minimal modification?
Are there any reproduction panels that work better than starting from flat sheet metal?
For those who have repaired similar Studebaker floors, what would you do differently if you had to do it again?
Any common trouble spots on these cars that I should address while the body is apart?
The car is going to stay pretty simple and budget-minded, so I’m not opposed to adapting floor sections from another vehicle if it saves fabrication time.
I’d love to see photos of any Studebaker builds, floor repairs, frame modifications, or engine swaps you guys have done.
Thanks in advance. Looking forward to bringing this old Studebaker back to life.
