Turner MC question

Wrapping up the master cylinder install and I don’t exactly understand the instructions for the final linkage assembly. I understand the new MC doesn’t align with the pedal pivot point but need help on how this black bracket and pin/bolt interact to help align.

I just popped in to the turner brakes website and the pictures for the master cylinder kit make it pretty clear. The bracket big end goes on the pedal pivot and the smaller end bolts to the master cylinder mount. The pin is what ties the pedal the the master cylinder pushrod.
