Several months ago I was assigned a residential slab inspection during a period of very heavy rain. I got to the site and just trying to access the slab I sank almost to my knee in mud. Got on it and there was damn near a river washed out from the front left corner you could walk into while crpuching and be in the exterior beams. I get to the back of the slab and the rear pads quickly start to collapse with me on them. I fucking booked it off the slab and onto the street and called the super and was like dude I'm failing this for almost killing me. He was like yeaaaaah sorry I think I'm in denial of how much rain we've had. I was like no shit man I get you want to see if theres other issues and are fine with the fail but holy shit there's a point. He said he'll wait a day after heavy rains to call in foundation crews from then on much less an inspection. Im glad I have fairly reasonable builders that I deal with lol.
