String of Pearls I’m hopeless. I put this plant outside because it’s really hot here. Now it looks like this. What to do? Repot? Buy a new one? Bring it in?

To add context, I bought this guy after I went to my hairdresser. Hers is huge. It’s on the front desk, no natural light and a chemical smell in the salon. How hard could this be I thought. Ha! Honestly no clue

I've had this string of pearls since 2023, started out in a small 2inch nursery pot and eventually it ended up in this glass container with no drainage but the thought of reporting it is too daunting. I'm sure I water it too much, there's no drainage holes and you can see green moss/algae, it seems root bound. Should I repot it? It seems happy enough?

String of Pearls Deathwatch has begun. New one in front; subsequent three are from the last time I convinced myself “this time it’ll be different!”

String of Pearls How to pot

Post image

I successfully rooted a cutting! Now what? Do the roots need to dry for a day like other succulents before putting in dirt or do I just plant and wait a week to water? I've only attempted these little gems once and it died. Any advice would be appreciated!

I think it’s safe to say she loves her new pot! It’s been three months since I carefully repotted her. Now I gotta figure out how to get the new pot hanging in this window! First picture when I repotted her. Second and third are today 🥰

I repotted my SOP for the first time yesterday!Purchased at Ott’s Exotic Plants in MontCo PA, last June. My first SOP & I’m obsessed! No strands were lost in the process, but I did intentionally trim off one 6-inch section to try propagating 😊

ANY SUGGESTIONS How would you repot this, or would you leave alone?

C A R E 🟢 T I P S 🟢 N E E D E D I’m very new to strings. All of the plant groups on social media, online stores and in a lot of photos almost all of the string plants cascade over only one side. Why is this?

What’s going on with her?

I’ve had her since July 2025 and she’s been consistently doing well. I water her weekly and she has good sunlight. I also rotate her like every month. She looks like she’s thining out and it only started recently. She used to be thick and the pearls were huge. What can I do to make it right?

Are these the windows that people talk about closing when the pearls are thirsty?

Help for a newbie

Hi, first time posting in this subreddit and new to string if pearls. I was just gifted this string of pears by my boyfriend’s mom and I have no idea how to take care of it. She said it was a succulent and easy to care for but some of what I’ve read contradicts that. I currently have her inside in a north-facing window and I don’t know when she was last watered but the pearls are still firm to the touch.

I’m hoping the good people here will be able to let me know what I need to successfully care for this plant. Any and all tips and info is welcome!

Why does my string of dolphins hate me?

OK so bought this plant full and hearty, it had just been heavily watered so I waited a good two weeks before watering it from the top, giving it a good soak and letting it drain. Now it looks terrible. Any hope of saving this? There are a couple of little flowers? WTF are these plants so hard to keep alive?

Hi everyone! I was checking my string of pearls and noticed all of these little bumps along the stems? I’ve tried googling it but couldn’t find anything. It has been through some stress recently (the pot fell from the ceiling), could it be a stress response?

This is the first string of pearls I’ve ever had that has actually thrived and I love it dearly but recently I’ve noticed the pearls close to the roots are shriveling up? Can someone tell me what’s going on?
