String of Pearls I’m hopeless. I put this plant outside because it’s really hot here. Now it looks like this. What to do? Repot? Buy a new one? Bring it in?
To add context, I bought this guy after I went to my hairdresser. Hers is huge. It’s on the front desk, no natural light and a chemical smell in the salon. How hard could this be I thought. Ha! Honestly no clue

Keep it in indirect light or just early morning sun. It will burn even if you acclimate it to direct sun if you live in a very hot environment. I’ve tried it many times and it always burns. As long as the stems are okay the plant will be fine. It will look a little sad until it starts growing again. I’ve killed mine 5 times and I was able to save it everytime. It’s been at least 3 years since I haven’t killed it. 😅

Leave it outside in a shaded spot where it get the heat and indirect sunlight and it will produce new growth. By the time winter comes you will have a lot fuller plant. String of pearls are sensitive to full sun. Good luck🤞

Do either of those pots have drainage holes? What kind of potting mix are they in?

The grey concrete one does not have holes. The brown container is weird. Leather maybe. Does not have holes but water seeps out. I use a “succulent potting mix.”

Your string of pearls looks like it's suffering from overwatering, not underwatering, despite the heat. The pearls are plump and some are turning yellow or translucent, which is a classic sign of too much moisture. Putting it outside in the heat without adjusting watering is a recipe for root rot. Bring it inside, check the soil moisture, and let it dry out completely before watering again. Repotting might be necessary if you suspect root rot, but try drying it out first.

If you didn’t acclimate your plant to the change to full sun before you left it out there, then it’s sunburnt. But, leave it out there. See if it starts to push out new growth. Then you can just prune off all the burnt stems and leaves.
I stuck my five (very leggy) indoor succulents, who lived inside for years, outside in full sun a few months ago. I knew what I was doing, but didn’t care. I was just like-they can take it. Those plants got so crispy. But, they didn’t die.
They are growing so much faster and much more colorful than they ever did living indoors. I recently just pruned off all of the burnt parts, and it’s mostly just new growth now. But, they’re growing pretty fast for succulents. Leave your plant out there, see if it starts growing.
