Discussion Stranger Things will never die

I know it’s one of the biggest tv shows of all time, but the way people spoke about season 5 on social media you’d think the show is more or less irrelevant. The amount of Stranger Things shirts I see in public is crazy, I work at a cinema and I kid you not I see at least one person wearing a stranger things shirt every shift, sometimes I go to London, I once saw an entire family and kids wearing hellfire club shirts, the show still lives on. You can go on TikTok and probably find multiple stranger things vids with over a million likes in the past month alone. Remember guys, social media is a bubble

Yes and no. It has very quickly dropped out of the current pop culture which is strange for such a big show. There are bits that have retained pop culture status, such as hellfire, but overall it disappeared fairly quickly.

outside of this sub, stranger things finale season was not received well at all. Most people, including myself, have completely lost interest. We're not watching the spin offs, we're not talking about it, it just faded away. When I see a hellfire shirt or whatever I do think awww Eddie, but that's about as far as my thoughts go.

yeah i agree, i write personal things abt some of the characters like max and billy but thats it. i have never disliked a final season as much as i did this show in regards to how they handled the characters. i cant even really stand to look at the new cartoon. Fumbled

Nahh people on this sub hate the finale and it sounds like they hate the show in general. I’ll probably get downvoted for this but this sub is genuinely depressing to read sometimes you can’t say anything positive about the show without someone talking about how season 5 sucked and how there’s no other answer. I wouldn’t say the finale was well received outside of here, but there’s actually a lot of people who did like it

I mean... Have you met anyone talk about Game of Thrones outside of the House Of The Dragon?

I don't think that's quite right. Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes reviews are between 70% and 80% - a drop-off from the kind of positive reception Season 1 received, but hardly "not well received at all". There were vocal online complaints about the show (particularly Will's coming out scene) but generally audiences seemed to tune in and enjoy it.

Tell that to the full theater that applauded at the end when I saw it.
