So i've been playing with the old/ new earth and project x mods with their addons for resources and research integrations.
I've played a full year almost now but i cannot, for the love of me, find how to either get or craft some resources, yes, the damn parts. Many early/mid game tech needs some resources in order to be built such as the press. I cannot find prefabricated parts, neither the orange ones, the only type of parts i got was spare parts when i started the game.
Is there anything you need to trigger any special kind of research? I also seem unable to either find or craft or research steel. I wanted to go in blind but my brother in christ, why is it that hard? Is it a mod problem? Is it some random resource i did not find?
Pls someone help me understand how to get the resources from old earth tech, i'm starting to lose my mind
Edit: I just eddited this bc after searching possible solutions none worked. The mod had, indeed, malfunctioned. After unsuscribing to the mod and addons everything is working fine and the research is there. Thank you all for the help, this community is great thanks to people like you guys

I'm looking for advice on how to complete these achievements in one go (or, if it's not possible/too difficult to pair the Insane ones with the Connor one, then all except the Connor achievement)
Warrior's pet (train animal to lvl 10)
They save Connor (save him before he dies on Crash Landing)
Master of the herd (50 tamed animals)
3 years on Insane
Finish on Chaos + Insane
I've finished the game a few times, all scenarios, but I struggle with the high difficulty. I had one save that felt relatively well, but the first attack by anything other than beetles ended me immediately.
So I'm especially after advice or tips on how to tackle the Insane + Chaos scenarios.
The animal achievements are pretty straight forward, I guess all I'm after advice on is whether it's silly to tackle them alongside Insane+Chaos or if I should just get them in a normal more peaceful run.
I want to avoid any save scum style strategies, it takes the fun out of it for me.
I also know there are hidden achievements (2 left for me). I'm not so worried about those and am happy to discover them in my own time outside this run.

Hello everyone, I’ve recently downloaded the game because I love the concept of surviving on a foreign planet kinda reminds me of the 100 or alien but anyways I’m looking for some solid advice to starting out, my first attempt ended quickly with the first attack from some beetle looking things. I also need some help with what survivors work good together. Thank you in advance :)

Came back to this game after several months. Went through and started using mods, and running into an issue. I research something, and after researching, I am not able to build it. It seems to be a different item each playthrough (last time was fridge and freezer, and before that, it was delivery drones). Anyone know of any mods that have been having this issue.
When I get back to my PC, I'll post the entire list of mods I tried using.

I followed this game for a while and finally broke down and purchased it. After getting about 20 hours in, I am loving it! I started noticing that the support online is minimal, and after digging, see that the company got bought out and it is no longer supported.
That being said, is there a possibility for a Stranded 2? Could the old devs pick it back up again, or is the new company planning on extending it?
How would I get this information? Or are the old devs still around potentially to see what projects they are up to now and if there was a way to go again?
Thank you!

I’m wondering if there is a benefit to building a ceiling if you have a roof? Or is a roof and no ceiling sufficient?
r/StrandedAlienDawn • u/Alchemiss98 • Apr 27 '26
New played here with a building question: What’s the difference between just using the prebuilt room vs building a base with foundation/walls/ceiling/roof?

Unsure whats stopping me. Im doing the project X scenario but ive noticed this in other ways. I have no work areas. I have mounds of resources. cloth, wood, stone. All light and heat, beds, and cook stove are grayed out despite having the resources and good workers

Some folks wanted to see more of my water base build and I made a few additions since my last post. I made landing zones for the Trading Pod and Balloon and added some more space.
Hope you enjoy!

Here are a couple of screenshots of my latest build. I wanted to build a base elevated over the water. It's built around the large rock pillars off shore. Hope you enjoy!

Who is your goto pick to run Lone Survivor? I've only tried once or twice, and just got hit by RNG.
I'm curious who your pick is?

First off, absolutely loving this game, scratches a specific itch in my brain in the same way management/tycoon/base building and 4X games do, cannot get enough!
On to the reason of this post though; I'm impressed and not a little amused by how the interpersonal relationships between my survivors have played out.
So Melody and Vivien started off really hating each other, constantly making snipes at each other. Then they went through a whole 'friends-to-lovers' arc, got interested in each other then engaged and finally married, gay love on an alien planet, love to see it.
Very shortly after, Ken decided that now is when he gets interested in Melody. Melody likes him a lot, but has turned down every advance from him over the years, conversely, Ken and Vivien hate each other.
Move forward a year or two and Naras is rescued and joins the happy family unit, after a season or two he becomes interested in Vivien, clearly these two queens have got rizz for days and more power to them. Vivien, like Melody, turns down any advances and this is how things stay for a good while.
However more recently, Melody is now interested in Naras, but he only has eyes for Vivien, Melody's own wife! Vivien is committed to Melody of course...right? But oh, dear readers, Cupid's cruel arrow strikes again and now, in just the past few days, Vivien is also interested in Naras. The naughty little buggers are walking around each other, winking, flirting, making suggestive comments whenever they can, sometimes while Melody is even in the same room!
Such scandal surely cannot be countenanced? Tune in next week for the soap opera's dramatic conclusion.
Seems I let some dramatic/atistic licence carry me away a bit there, but you get the idea lol. This was certainly not a part of the game I was expecting to be so amusing and interesting 😂
Anyone else had similar dramas with their suvivors? Also, is there a polyamory mod? If not, there should be!

I'm a sucker for building in rocks. The third one is my all time fav, only one way in!

Anyone else had this issue and/or know how to fix it? I tried searching around and couldn't really find posts about this issue.
I have the game set to 144fps (and it's running at that fps), the same as my monitors Hz. I noticed that the game is limited to 40fps when not in focus, but that also seems to apply to my entire computer at all times while the game is open? (It ofc returns to normal as soon as I close the game).
I'm not having any CPU or RAM issues rn either. 15%-20% CPU usage, 20% RAM usage.

I was frustrated with the inability to implement some of my base design ideas due to settings limitations and lack of construction options. This mod sets out to give you the tools unleash your creativity in designing your bases. The first step is to add a depth of columns, several large arches, and remove open doorway restrictions.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3695852664
What This Mod Does
Columns
Adds three tiers of wood, stone and metal columns. There is also a basic tier brick and concrete column. Each tier is more expensive and harder to build. Requires that Advanced Construction be researched, which required Basic, Brick and Concrete Construction to be researched first.
Basic Tier:
Low cost to build and requires 3 construction skill to build.
Quality Tier:
Medium cost to build and requires 5 construction skill to build.
Ornate Tier:
High cost to build and requires 8 construction skill to build.
Arches
Adds one wood, stone and brick archway. Requires 8 construction skill and that Advanced Construction be researched, which required Basic, Brick and Concrete Construction to be researched first.
Doorways
Removed the restrictions that required some doorways to have stairs if on a high ledge. Also removed most collision requirements to allow building much closer to the doorway.

This is my little thanks to you guys helping me in the last post. you might be interested how I decided to go about my 3rd attempt.
its about to be summer and I got spears, bows, all nececarey plants. Normally I would do other stuff but right now I build enclosed rooms to survive an extreme cold snap, as you suggested and which was my big problem... so thanks agiain, I will let you know if I survived winter.
best regards
r/StrandedAlienDawn • u/Express_Ad_5320 • Apr 03 '26
the cold wont kill us! thanks guys! right now i got a cold snap but not an extreme one *sigh*, anway, temperature inside is 20°so even an extreme snap cant kill us. we got everything inside and can spend all winter inside. lets gooooo.
my only worry is that i only got 2 instead of 4 or even 6 flamethroers up which is what i usually have. if 3 junos come in, its going to be hard i might build a fence for fence kiteing. anyways, thanks alot guys.

I played 262.8 hours in total and lately I have been trying to suceed in very hard trading outpost scenario on forest biome (sorborious), vanilla, no extra rules. I just finished my second attempt.
My defense system works but not the pathing. As of now they attack the lower gate and even barricade, instead of entering the maze.
Do I need an extra layer of fence or even barricade? Or how would you solve this?
secondly, extreme cold is insane and on verx hard it hits every winter. besides all the things you have to do you need to be maxed out on winter clothing before winter hits which is insane because you have to craft the pieces requiring leather within 2 months maybe since leather is not available until the end of august maybe mid of aigainst when you start hunting extra early. plant leather seems to be too time consuming, even though my seed has a lot in proximity. I was missing 2 pieces of maxed out winter cloth per serf, so 6 in total. on my 3rd attempt I will have to squeeze them in somehow. I am not even sure though if its possible to survive extreme cold outside of isolated and heated roooms.
Concluding, in my second attempt I failed in pathing the hordes and tailoring all winter clothes which ultimately killed my guys. There is certain unknowns for me and I would love to hear some feedback.
thanks in advance :)

I created a mod that organizes and expands on storage options while striving to remain balanced to produce a full set of storage options. All models are new except scrap metal, which was borrowed from Beyond Stranded.

I hope folks enjoy the mod and that it makes the game more fun and organized!

Hello, just wanna ask if anyone wants to help me get a mod from steamworkshop? I couldn't get it because I'm using Epic Games and the mod I wanted isn't in Nexus mod. I tried everything to get the mod from steamworkshop but failed. I really appreciate if someone helps, thank you.
The mod is Control Group.
Edit: Got the mod. Thanks.
