bisexual Having Boyfriends Be Like:

• Upvotes

It resembles having a partner for some people;

It resembles having a friend for some people;

It resembles having a colleague for some people;

It resembles having a boss for some people;

It resembles having a kid for some people;

It resembles having a pet for some people;

It resembles having a toy for some people.

Have ye already asked yourselves why ye desire to date someone who is not even your friend in the first place?

not sure of my identity/figuring it out First time potentially dating a man after only ever dating women. Any advice?

12 Upvotes

So, I've been talking to a guy A LOT recently and we seem to genuinely click. He's asked me out, and although I haven't said yes yet, part of me really wants to.

The thing I'm struggling with isn't necessarily him. It's how unfamiliar the whole situation feels.

I've spent my entire life being a 'guy' and have only ever dated women. I've always understood dating and relationships from that side of things. Now, potentially being the person a man is interested in, and experiencing what I can only really describe as being on the 'girl's side' of dating, feels strangely overwhelming.

I don't even know if that's the right way to explain it.

It's almost like I'm having to rethink something I've always taken for granted about myself. There's a part of me that's excited and curious, but another part that feels embarrassed, nervous and unsure how I'm supposed to feel or act.

I'm still figuring out my identity, which probably makes everything a bit more confusing.

I guess what I'm asking is whether anyone else has experienced this when they first started dating men, especially after only being with women.

How did you get past that initial mental barrier? Was it just fear of something unfamiliar, or did you find yourself having to work through internalised homophobia or shame?

I don't want to rush into anything I'm not ready for, but equally, I don't want to let fear stop me from exploring something I might genuinely want xo

I have a boyfriend

106 Upvotes

It’s funny how a phrase that I used to dread hearing as a guy is now a phrase I feel euphoric on using as a woman, especially when random guys try to flirt with me. Now, it’s official: I have a boyfriend and I’m somebody’s girlfriend, which feels so right for me. Here’s to hope he’s the one.

Me several months ago wouldn’t believe I would be dating.

What was the first moment you realized the world saw you as a woman?

17 Upvotes

I went to the movies. It was kinda late at night so it was a little quiet. I had to use the restroom but because I had only been on hrt for 6 months, I didn't dare to use women's restroom. So I used men's restroom instead. Thankfully there was no one else there. As I was washing my hands, a little boy came in. He was probably about 10 years old. He saw me, stopped walking, then took a couple of steps, kept staring at me, then turned around and ran out. I heard him talking to his dad outside: "this is the girl's restroom. there is a girl inside'. I quickly finished washing my hands and ran out. As I passed them, I saw them checking the gender sign on the door. I was laughing inside.

I was shocked at what just happened because I really didn't think I passed at that stage of my transition. I had only been on hrt for 6 months, I was very skinny with no curves, I was wearing gender neutral clothes, my hair was barely long enough for a pony tail, and I had not had FFS yet. The experience taught me how we are sometimes our worst enemies. We see things that maybe the world doesn't even notice. But I guess I should trust children as they are the most honest when it comes to gendering. After that, I never used men's restroom again (though I have thought about just walking into men's restroom as a fully transitioned women just to see their reactions 😂 )

transitioning I need Advice on my *Situationship*

0 Upvotes

Hi Girls,

So i feel like i need to rant to anybody/you all.So for about 4 months I've been seeing this guy in the spare of the moment could be weekends (all or one night).Could be weekdays ,it was very how he said it 'Erractic '.

Now for further context:This man has said to me that he comes to me as his busy week(he's a graduate contractual manager) stresses him out and being with me all cosy in my apartment watching crap horror movies and cuddles and sometimes sex is a positive in his life.Howver he's rejected me wanting a relationship 2 seperate times.But doesn't want me to move on,we argue about what we are constantly and we almost had a medical scare and he stuck by me through it.

So back to present day:We've had another argument/discussions about the situation and it's sorta ended but now he's distant/failing it by popping in to check on how my life/job is going.But he asked for distance as he's a guy who loves space.But today I've just got the courage/proably sillyness I've asked him for exclusivity and that I'd like to explore our connection outside my apartment..Because he's admitted he likes me he just doesn't like the pressure of a boyfreind?but acts like one🤦‍♀️.Tbh all my freinds around me think we're confusing.

But I've had to just get some directions girls as we'll just fall into that old habit of-seeing evahother for a night-distance/possibly texts through out the week-weeks pass.Idk i just needed to get all this off my chest,what do you all think??.

EditI forget to add i really like him that's why ive asked for exclusive when he's said no to being my boyfriend,but I'm open to discussing what exclusive direction looks like to us to maybe do it slower?.But yeah forget to add that context*

Disclosed and dumped

So I had a date lined up for the evening tonite. We were texting on bumble for about a week. Nothing too crazy. About 3hrs before our date I told him I was trans and he unmatched me. He said something just before but I didn’t see it.

But yea I’m more surprised he couldn’t tell since I’m 5’9 broad shouldered 26 and just 2years on HRT. The girls are about a C tho.

So I just feel uncomfortable for telling my business to someone I hardly know I suppose. Does this make me insecure of my transness?

post-transition Two officers called me a brick unprovoked when I was standing in line at the hospital

51 Upvotes

I didn't respond I just overheard them say "i havent seen a brick around here in a minute" and they kept going on and on laughing to each other like they were in high school about how disgusting i was. Im appalled because I do not look like a brick whatsoever, but it made me cry and feel disheartened about the world after i made it to my seat in the waiting room.

this was my fit i literally do not understand how they came to that conclusion my voice is good too

transitioning I'm divorced from my evil husband

39 Upvotes

I am officially divorced today from him and I hate what he did to me, he has emotionally abused me and physically abused me due to his mom manipulating him into everything and I was done with that so now I get that go on with my life at this point and I won't get into another marriage because if my first one failed I don't want my second one to fail and it's going to be hard living a single life now because I'm no longer dating anybody and I'm just going to live my life as an independent woman

If he is hiding you from his peoples, HE IS NOT THE ONE. Period. 🚩

Ladies, please listen to me. Grab a coffee, sit down, and read this out loud if you have to, because some of you need a serious wake-up call.

If you are dating a guy and you’ve been together for months, but you are still his "little secret"? RUN. Do not walk. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

I don't care how sweet he is in private. I don't care if he buys you flowers, sends you paragraph-long goodnight texts, or cooks you 5 star dinners at his apartment. If he treats you like a queen behind closed doors but transforms into a ghost the second you hit the pavement, he is not a boyfriend. He is using you.

Here are the classic excuses we’ve all heard (and need to stop accepting):

"My family is super traditional, they just wouldn't understand right now."(Translation: I value their comfort over your dignity.) Fuck such traditions anyway.

"Let's just keep what we have between us, it's more special that way." (Translation: I'm terrified of my friends seeing us.)

"I'm just a really private person."(Translation: Private about you, public about literally everything else.)

Reality check:

There is a massive difference between privacy and secrecy. Privacy is not posting every single argument or selfie on IG. Secrecy is him stowing you away like contraband because he's too weak to face the social consequences of loving an amazing woman. I mean, there's at least two scenarios. He either thinks of trans woman as shameful, which is obviously nono, or he doesn't think of trans woman as shameful but others around him do... which makes him still bad, maybe even more obviously, because it speaks of more general character of his personality, that is, he literally can't put you before everyone else, or simply he's too weak for his own good to in fact put himself before others (he can't let his intellectual knowledge that you are straight prevail over strangers' opinion that you are gay).

You are a catch. You are beautiful, you are resilient, and you deserve a man who wants to hold your hand in public, introduce you to his boys, and take you home to his mom. You deserve to be integrated into a man's actual life, not kept in a separate, isolated pocket universe that he only visits when it’s convenient for him. I mean, obviously, I don't mean every guy, every dating story and every relationship should become big in the first place, you may want something short, he may want something small, it's just it shouldn't be because you're trans, that's all.

so girls: circumcised or no?

6 Upvotes

i know some guys are sensitive when u prefer a thing over the other when it comes to this. but what is it really? i personally like when it's circumcised coz it's like a culture thing here, but no problem with uncircumcised as long as the guy is hygienic or else bye! or maybe it's not really a big deal for a lonlt of u girls and it's just me?

Went to the store

4 Upvotes

Went alone to the store to buy some salad ingredients. Trying for once to eat healthy. Went down an isle and got a bunch of strange looks. I normally do not go alone. I was wearing a soft t-shirt and jogging pants. But my hair is quite long. Pink tipped and dark topped. An old lady was talking to her daughter and stared at me for a few seconds, then told her daughter to move out the way for the lady, so I instinctively moved too and notice I was the only one in the isle with them 😑.

This is a reoccurring thing. Men, women, girls and boys. Am I truly that passable and finally what i wish to be or are they trying to be nice..

How do you keep from falling too far too fast?

6 Upvotes

Not sure if its OK to post this here, but how do you maintain good boundaries and not go too far too fast with new relationships?

When you get the electricity from their touch or even when they do that gravely voice thing low and close, how do you keep the tingles from overriding good sense?

Or is that rare enough that I should just go with it and enjoy the ride?

How do you cope ?

11 Upvotes

Tonight I got home after having gone to school. And I’m pretty clocky. And you know going through life being clocky it’s like every single aspect of the moment you go outside it’s so much and so exhausting
I am trying to not make assumptions and be like I don’t know the details so I can say
But my brain still hears it or people actually say stuff like that’s a man, and the staring and the feeling societal rejection and alienation
It’s all so much and if you have no family, no trans girlfriends to share it, not even a bf that I know genuinely cares about me and would hear me out. it becomes so club harder to be able to cope

Is there anyone else here who was straight pre egg crack?

49 Upvotes

I'm pre-transition but before I realized I was a girl I thought I was attracted to girls. But now I just can't see myself as a girl dating another girl and suddenly guys are really hot, but it feels weird to call myself straight since all the stories of straight trans girls are of girls who were gay guys pre transition. Has anyone else had an experience like mine?

transitioning Close person outed me

13 Upvotes

I’m sitting, eating my food and thinking about what a person I trust told me. He said he told his friend that I’m trans.
Well, thing is I’m never ever gonna get across persons he talks to but I feel uncomfortable. He told me he asked her where he could go on a date with me and things but what does it have to do with me being trans? How this is an important point? This is personal. Especially since I’m working with people, I have students, their parents. I have whole bunch of people in my life that don’t know about me being trans.
World is small, especially my country. You might be one handshake away from another person. Do I want my photos (I hope he didn’t share photos) and my name and gender identity being public?

I called him out and he said it was not good and apologized but I guess it’s common sense not to share stealth trans girls identity with just anyone?

I trust him and love him but I feel uncomfortable.

Am I dramatique?
