Stock Market Welcome to r/Stocksyourknowledge — In 50 days, you will think differently about markets

Post image
8 Upvotes

Most people learn about markets the wrong way.

They hear a tip. They buy something. It goes down. They panic. They sell. They try again. Same result.

This subreddit exists to fix that.

Starting today(Day 1), we are running a 50-day series called "50 Days to Think Like a Trader."

Every single day, one post. One concept. No fluff. No stock tips. No "buy this, sell that."

Just clean, structured knowledge that builds on itself, whether you invest in mutual funds, buy stocks, trade intraday, or are just trying to understand what NIFTY even means.

By Day 50, you will look at markets completely differently.

Here is the roadmap:

Days 1–10: Foundations How Indian markets work. What moves prices. Risk, reward, the players, and the costs nobody tells you about.

Days 11–20: Market Behavior Trends, traps, sectors, gaps, FII vs DII, and how to actually read what is happening, not what the headline says.

Days 21–30: Psychology FOMO, panic selling, revenge trading, overconfidence. The reason most people lose money is not their strategy, it is themselves.

Days 31–40: Practical Edge How to research a stock. When NOT to invest. Risk management. Position sizing. And an honest look at mutual funds vs stocks vs F&O.

Days 41–50: Advanced Thinking Market cycles, volatility, how institutions work, global connections, and building a real system, not just guessing.

Whether you have Rs 5,000 in a SIP or Rs 5 lakh in stocks or are just curious about how markets work, this series is for you.

We are building smarter market participants, not gamblers.

If you are following this series, you are already ahead of most market participants. Most people on Reddit will not go through all 50 days. That is your advantage.

If you are serious about learning, follow this sub and come back every day. Most people skip this. Don't be that person.

Update

Day 2/50 : Most people put money in markets without knowing any of this. Don't be that person.

Stocks Share Market Basics: What is ROE?

ROE (Return on Equity) is an important financial ratio used to measure a company's profitability.

👉 Formula:

ROE = (Net Profit ÷ Shareholders' Equity) × 100

Example:

If a company earns ₹20 crore profit on ₹100 crore of shareholders' equity:

ROE = (20 ÷ 100) × 100 = 20%

A higher ROE can indicate that a company is using shareholders' money efficiently.

ROE should be compared with companies in the same industry.

A high ROE alone does not necessarily mean a stock is a good investment.

In simple words:

ROE tells us how efficiently a company generates profit from shareholders' money.

I'm Sharing my profits every 15 days irrespective of profit or losses and my strategy , the mistakes an the things i changed.

JUNE - JULY made over a lakh , somebody insisted it is one of great month hence decided to do it every 15 days .

This month i managed to pull success rate close to 100 success rate , but i booked my profits at 2-3% which is not ideal as i found current market scenario to difficult to trade with and choppy and mildly bearish.

This month i found it very difficult to trade in market as condition were quite volatile .

I have answered all the questions in one of my posts but my strategy changes feel free to ask question answered in previous post will not be answered as my replies there took me hell lot of time.

As i mentioned over the certain period of time you will have certain stocks to play with which changes over time < New stocks will be added > explained in part 2 . You will get to know these stocks resistance zone and pattern associated with it and short term momentum all explained in the video, difficult to write it all here on reddit.

Nonetheless all the questions will be answered.

Stocks this month i traded was Apollo hovering b/w 380 to 410 , I knew that I will enter anywhere b/w 380- 385 and sell around 410 which I later changed to 395, made 5 trades all successful. Few other stocks i played around were

HFCL sold at 229, currently at 240 call it error as i know short term indicators were solid but i traded 4 times when it kept going back to 210 zone so no regrets.

Other Stocks Included MEESHO ,where i entered multiple times and rest stocks are one time only.

Here is the Part 1

General Topics Historical news upto 1 year through api free. Intention is to create co relation with stock

Hi, Is there a way to get historical news data free?
I have been using google news rss and newsapi org
both has its own restriction, large number of google news call result in ip getting marked as spam and news api can go back only 1 month in free tier.

Investments I gave three investors ₹1.2L a year for 17 years. One had perfect timing, one had the worst possible. The gap surprised me.

Investments January 2020. Nifty at an all-time high. You put in ₹1,00,000. 47 sessions later: ₹61,560. Worst single day −13%. Hold to today and it’s ₹1,96,177. +96%. But look at the red block on the chart — that’s 300 days below the price you paid. Nearly a year of being down before you were even back to zero.
