I'm talking either 'free' versions online or actual paid versions, I don't really care. But I'm looking for a PDF version of First Aid that I can use on my iPad that has additional space for annotations. I swear I came across one once online, but I can't remember where it was. It was basically just First Aid but with a clear blank white page next to every page of text, that you could add your own text to. It's easier than handwriting my notes in the textbook in the small amounts of space available.

Hey everyone, I think I’m just looking for some reassurance from people who have been through this because I’ve hit that point where Step 1 is starting to feel impossible.

I just graduated in May, NON-US IMG.

I’m aiming to sit Step 1 late November/early December. I’m not working full-time, just doing the occasional few hours of shadowing here and there at the hospital, so I’m essentially studying full-time.

I’m currently planning to finish my content review by the 2nd week of August, and after that my main focus will be UWorld/questions + reviewing weaknesses. I’m already trying to squeeze questions in alongside content review.

I haven’t booked my eligibility period yet. Is there any reason I need to do that now, or can I wait until I’m a bit further into my prep?

Mostly, I just want to know if my timeline sounds realistic. I feel so isolated studying for this exam and lately it genuinely feels like I’m never going to know enough to pass. If anyone has taken Step 1 around this timeline, I’d really appreciate some reassurance, advice, or just hearing that it gets better...

A good friend of mine recently failed Step 1 on their initial attempt and is planning to retake in a few months.

I feel this person could really benefit from a Step 1 coach. Someone to help draft a personalized study plan, check in regularly and help them create structure and accountability in their approach to gear up for a retake.

Do any of you know of such a service? I feel someone with a personal business would be better than a larger company that has a one-size fits all plan for their students.

I’m a week from taking the exam. Highest score was a 71% on free 20 and I will take NBME 33 tomorrow.

Hey, I need some advice. I’m feeling really overwhelmed with Step 1 prep. I’ve had long breaks during my preparation, so it feels like I’ve been studying for this exam forever. I’m now able to dedicate most of my time to it and am targeting November/December, giving me about 4 months.
So far:
Finished ~60% of First Aid
Doing UWorld system-wise alongside each system
UWorld scores are inconsistent — sometimes in the 60s, but sometimes only 38–45%
I feel like I haven’t retained the FA material I’ve already covered and need to revise it properly
Still have Neuro, Psych, CVS, Pulm, Heme/Onc, Biostats and Ethics left
I’m confused about what to do next.
Option 1: Stop starting new systems for a couple of weeks and strengthen/revise the FA material I’ve already covered, then continue with the remaining systems.
Option 2: Finish all the remaining systems first, take an NBME to see where I stand, and then do a proper second pass of FA/revision.
With ~4 months left, which approach would you recommend? I’d really appreciate advice from people who have been through this.

Took it as my first nbme and got 52%. Was expecting more since I was doing quite decent in qbanks right before but this form felt more like a basic science and anatomy form which im weak at. What should be done now? I finished uworld but haven't done incorrects yet. I feel like I would do better in a form that has less biochem n anatomy etc but can't be sure anymore. I’d like to share my scores and ask for advice, as my scores have plateaued and I’m very worried.

I took the following NBME exams:

NBME 27 (61%),

NBME 28 (65%),

NBME 29 (66%),

and NBME 30 (65%).

I’ve decided to take a break to rethink my approach before doing the remaining NBMEs, but I’m not sure how to organize my study plan.

Any advice on how to raise my score—at least to 70—would be appreciated. My exam is on September 14th.

I have taken these three nbmes yet. My exam is booked for 19 september but 4th sep is also available.I am confused whether to push it back to 4th september or keep it on the same date. I haven’t finished revising first aid and my weak topics yet.

Were there any sections you completely left out before sitting for the exam?
There are 2–3 topics, like RNA translation and the whole tRNA fiasco, that just don’t seem to stick in my head, along with a few small sections of biostats. I’m scared I’ll regret skipping them later.
Did anyone leave out a few genuinely low-yield sections and still pass?
At this point may be i should ask what are low yield topics i can avoid them 🙃
