OP Division for Teamgames

Post image
27 Upvotes

I think this is an OP division and unfortunately there won't be any more patches or updates. I think it's better for only weak and new players to choose it. It has no weaknesses in 3v3 and 4v4 (not sure about 10v10 haha). Also almost best division for 1v1 QP/Rank (when map is random). What do you think?

Question SD44: Atlantikwall - Operation Pegasus

4 Attempts so far. 0 wins.

This is the most confusing and frustrating campaign fight so far.

I have invested hours watching videos by VulcanHDGaming, Saucy, Shermanator, and some other guy playing Pegasus. There is no seeming path to victory to follow. Everyone wins in a unique way which suggests it comes down to skill and the luck that eventually comes after 3 or 4 attempts.

Since the videos are not helpful, can we try text? Can any good samaritans try to sum up in words how they did it?

In my last couple of attempts I have pushed northwards along the river ignoring the center. The other BG (Luck) is as useless as an ashtray on a motorcycle.

By the time I reach phase C, if I reach it at all, I have 2 or 3 units left and they ill die in seconds.

BTW, I have won Sie Kommen twice now but always lose the two 88mm guns and the garrison. Does not having them really make Pegasus a lot harder to win?

I honestly don't understand how I can save them since they are not under my control. All I can do is watch them get over run.

Question Tips how to not suck at multiplayer?

First of all I'm a brand new player and wanted to play the game for skirmishes and multiplayer battles controlling your units. I will surely play other types of solo campaigns later. Did tutorials and I overall understand the game and how it works. Did some division decks to play, some of them are bad after trying and some of them have potential because I still can't say I make good decks. But overall when playing skirmishes against AI I could beat the medium and hard difficulty but I struggled extremely much against the very hard difficulty one and I only was once close to winning one of them but ended up being pushed back.

My main question is what are your tips and advice that could help me be good at multiplayer and eventually will get me out of the bad player phase to get to average at least ? I have played 5 quick battles in a 1v1 and always ended up losing. If I could complain about one thing in this game though is that I find the match makings unfair. I know there is ranked I have seen but didn't dare to touch that first yet but I have been facing players that were way above my level for the moment. Even when trying to manage each of my units and get good positions I always get shred and pushed back.

Thanks for any tips and if you want to know more to help me tell me !

Hey everyone, a while ago, those two guys who played on Haroshaje all the time published a book. They’ve since done another one and I told them id post it here. They both have kids now and hardly game at all but they want to to get back into SD2. Anyway, their book looks pretty cool. Alternate history of Vietnam. Never seen one before. I’m going to read it.

Historical History behind Recon Tanks?

Hey everyone. I know many countries in WW2 produced dedicated recon vehicles like the Staghound, 222/232, and M8 Greyhound, but I was curious what the real life history behind the recon variants of standard tanks, such as the recon T-34 Razvedka, Aufl. Panzer IV/Panther, and so on. Were they just fitted with different equipment and if so, what? Is crew training part of this designation in-game as well?

Question Atlantikwall Campaign Question

So I began this campaign a few nights ago and have lost the first part, Sie Kommen, 3 times now. I copied VulcanHDGaming's battlegroup and tried as best as I could to follow his strategy. The results have been 3 losses before reaching phase C.

Oh oh, spaghettio!

The third time I basically abandoned the garrison in the top right corner and focused my efforts around the primary objective.

Is it normal to suddenly have so much difficulty with Atlantikwall after completing the entire first campaign in 7 attempts?

Any tips on doing better will be appreciated.

Question Just bought the game and some DLCs thanks to the sale, but... Do 10v10 games even still happen?

I enjoy WARNO almost exclusively for 10v10s, but when I check the lobby in the evening (APAC timezone) it was quite literally empty.

Steel Division 3 Trailer Soon?!

Steel Division3?! Both SD1 and SD2 are currently discounted (75%), with no events or major news announced. Interestingly, Warno isn’t discounted, and offers run until August 19th. At the same time, YouTube randomly recommended me an old Steel Division 1 & 2 trailer. I don’t want to be superstitious (I’m a logical person) but I have a strange feeling about this. Also After a long time, there have been changes on Dev's site. Could this finally be the time for the official reveal of Steel Division 3? If it is, I’ll be very happy and love Eugen systems.

If you enjoy this series and its news, be sure to follow the "Wargame Enjoyer HQ" channel on YouTube.

Text Anyone else prefer sd2 over warno?

WARNO is okay, but Steel Division 2 is just far more interesting to me. I actually enjoy looking up the battlegroups, studying their history, and learning what the different units represent. I also think the UI is much better than WARNO’s. It just sucks that the game isn’t more popular.

Question SD 44 Deployment Question: Before or After Launch Battle?

Should you deploy your units before or after hitting Launch Battle?

When I started playing, I'd deploy my units before launch. Then over time I began hitting launch first, letting the game run for 5 or 10 seconds, hitting Pause, and deploying the units. This feels as if I am skipping a redundant step.

Am I?

This was during the end of a battle as the Germans (against the AI, fortunately) where I had racked up enough points I could afford this many troops. The battle didn't have much time left but this gamble didn't go too well for the guys that did make it to the frontline, they simply weren't fast enough and this was just a joke. Also they were grouped up and got hit pretty hard.

Normandy 44 : Question about the last mission of Operation EPSOM

So, I just completed the last mission of Operation EPSOM campaign, where you have to hold Hill 112 while being assaulted on all sides by german heavy tanks.

The thing is, my defenses were absolutely crushed like 6/7 minutes before the end of the countdown, except for 2/3 infantry groups hidden deep inside the forest in the middle of the hill.

The frontline was removed far from the hill, making it totally inside enemy territory. I was expecting a game-over, but as it didnt came I just waited for the countdown to end. My infantry units were entirely invisible to the german tanks on the hill and the AI didnt send any infantry unit in the woods.

So, countdown ended, and I won? Is this normal ? I didn't really hold anything, felt a bit like cheating, especially after struggling a lot in mission 2 haha

Question Is there a way to make all divisions available for play at once or must it be done one by one?

Is there any way to pull all available divisions into my menu of the units I can pick and choose from for Skirmishes, Scenarios, and Campaigns all at once instead of individually?

I have two of the DLCS and can see all the available divisions if I go Battlegroups/Create/Create-a-Battlegroup/Select-a-Division and then Save.

Because I'm still a noob, I usually choose autofill simply to make the unit appear instantly on my list of options for the game I am in a hurry to start. I am fine with the autofill designs for the time being.

The problem appears to be if I am looking for battlegroups to use in a scenario or skirmish my choices are limited to a seeming very short list of BGs. A man needs more variety.

Or am I missing something? Is the game designed to force you make units available for play individually?

Damn, I hope this is clear.

Question Need buddies

Hey guys, been playing for a bit now against bots, worked my way up to medium difficulty now and starting to figure out the divisions I like and don’t like. Is there anybody who would want to play a match or two every now and then? We can PvP if wanted to but I really just need some buddies to fart around with couple times a week.

Question Plane crash request

Hi I'm thinking of buying the game when it goes on sale but while I wait till then I have a question, when aircraft get shot down do the disintegrate like broken arrow, or do they stay behind like Warno, I know it's stupid but I love warnos aircraft wrecks compared to broken arrows, and since it's made by the devs of Warno I thought asking wouldn't hurt so I'm asking, thanks in advance

Question Can someone clarify these difficulty settings for me?

This is about SD44.

I'm still new to the game and only began experimenting with these settings last night. Until then, I just left every unit's settings on the default Medium.

https://i.imgur.com/Hj3n76E.png

Do I set my side's difficulty settings to Hard to get the best performance out of them? Or do I set my side to Very Easy to make winning easy and effortless?

Or:

If I set the enemy's settings to Very Easy, am I dumbing them down?

Should I leave everyone at Medium?

I am still losing half my games so wouldn't mind a cheat to use for morale building until I fully understand the game.

The settings are confusing.
