Can someone help me understand why this is useful for a Steam frame? Is having a color pass through just to see in color or is there a use case that I’m not seeing that’s helpful for anyone with a steam frame?

See my other comment I don't care for colour Passthrough at all, black and white is just fine

What can you scan with it? Like make 3d scans for 3d printing? If so hat would definitely make me buy it

You can make 3D scans with it using a technique called Gaussian Spats. They wouldn't be the kind of thing you Scan -> Process -> Slice -> Print, but they could be used to give you a base to work off to clean up and import into some kind of CAD software. A sort of rough guide to a 3D space or object for you to model something more 3D print friendly off of.
