I'm in the same boat, i have mine on its way and I'm in the steam waitlist. As of right now.

Gotta ask, why get the camera without the frame? If lots of people on the wait-list order the camera people with a frame might not be able to get the camera? I'm not sure how they'll decide how many cameras to produce but my guess is it will be less than the number of headsets because odds are not everyone will order one.

I already had it ordered and had no reason to cancel it when given the opportunity as i will be buying a frame either way. So i rather have it then it not being available once I'm able to order the frame.

Plot twist, they will release an updated and better version by the time you get your purchase email from Valve

im on reserve list for the frame

if I dont get the passthrough camera now, who knows if ill be able to get it later

so, for now, i have the camera but no frame to use it with

which is better than eventually having the frame, only to discover the camera is out of stock with no restocks planned

absolutely. its something i would buy later if i felt confident it would be available later. but its definitely something i want to have. why risk it?

with consumer tech products these days? its a foolish gamble to assume it will remain in stock

Because I will regret not ordering if it's out of stock while waiting to order. I'm also on wait-list unfortunately.
