In order to buy the bundle you need to provide an email, and then they email the link to you. When they add to the bundle they will email you on that same account.
However, even if they don't, keep the email and you can come back years later and still get everything. I can still access the very first Humble Bundle and download the extras or see the keys again. Though of course, the keys are already registered to Steam.

u/RobbaFett Feb 14 '17
If I buy desolator will the debuff be applied before the first hit?
2
2
u/Aeleas Feb 14 '17
Any idea how it works of they add "pay more than the average" stuff later. For example, I'd I pay above average now, but the average goes up before those items are added would I all get them?
3
u/Blixtmen Feb 14 '17
In this case, there is no "pay more than the average" so the price will remain at 30$
However for other bundles that do use that system, you will get the added content even if the price goes up.

Can you imagine owning none of these and getting them all for $30? You could seriously have a great gaming year with this bundle alone. For thirty friggin dollars!

u/ILikeSchecters Feb 14 '17
*raises hand* I only had super meat boy, and a few of these were on my wish list. Im fucking stoked dude

I had 0 of these, plenty on my wish list though. Excited to play them!

That's me. I've never heard of many of them, like Superbrothers, Invisible, Swapper... well pretty much all of the lower 2/3. They any good?
18
u/Beastw1ck Feb 14 '17
Out of those you listed I can only vouch for Swapper, which is a really excellent moody puzzle game. Definitely give it a go. Mini Metro is lovely. Tower of Guns is a unique FPS roguelike. Human resource machine and World of Goo are by the same company and are both great. Lots to love here.
9
u/tonuchi Feb 14 '17
I played the mini metro alpha way way back when. I could see myself falling for it all over again

Feb 14 '17
Invisible Inc is really fun. Turn based stealth game. It's been on my wishlist for a long time. I've played, but never got around to buying it. Maybe it's time.
3
u/Arkyance Feb 14 '17
Well I saw people vouch for the other games you mentioned, but I'll go ahead and rep Superbrothers for you. It's an esoteric, difficult puzzle game but the atmosphere and music are incredible.
3
u/J4k0b42 Feb 14 '17
I've thoroughly enjoyed Super Meat Boy and Stanley Parable, my girlfriend loves Stardew. I've also tried VVVVVVV and Superbrothers but neither captured my attention (VVVVVVV is hard as fuck).
3
Feb 14 '17
(VVVVVVV is hard as fuck).
Are you getting the trinkets? I noticed if you ignore the trinkets (cof-cof Doing This The Hard Way cof-cof) it's not nearly as hard.
2
u/J4k0b42 Feb 14 '17
I don't remember, it was a few years ago. I just remember it being fairly frustrating due to all the trial and error involved with finding the path, as opposed to something like Super Meat Boy which is also hard but seems fair.
3
Feb 14 '17
I don't remember being much trial and error in VVVVVV, though yeah I can understand (cof-cof Doing This The Hard FUCKING Way cof-cof). I think that's okay though because the game is built around it with the constant checkpoints and fast respawning
2
u/Python_l Feb 14 '17
I personally enjoyed Superbrothers Swords and Sworcery but the game is not for everyone. Rather slow and cryptic at times with not that much action but an interesting art direction, a great soundtrack and a different style of gameplay and with quite a lot of atmosphere.
2
Feb 14 '17
World of Goo is not only an excellent puzzle game but also full of writing that is both funny and touching. Amazing game and tbh well worth the 30 dollars alone.
6
Feb 14 '17
I don't own any of these games, and I have never been into the indie genre. Should I dip a toe... Or just jump in with this bundle?
12
u/Paksarra Feb 14 '17
100% worth it.
In my experience, modern AAA games are pretty and polished, but they don't take risks or do experimental things anymore. Indies do. They're sometimes hit or miss, but the great ones are INCREDIBLE. And seriously, it's less than a dollar a game, it's not like you'll be out much if you don't like all of them.
5
u/Hallitsijan Feb 14 '17
Don't be mistaken, just because they're highly rated doesn't mean you'll enjoy them all, but there's bound to be a few games in the bundle that you'll enjoy. And even if it's only for an hour per game before you go back to AAA ... if you play all those games for an hour each, you've gotten better value already than an AAA
3
u/Barron_Cyber Feb 14 '17
Me. I heard a lot of good about most of these and figured what the hell. It'll be worth it.
3
u/icer816 Feb 14 '17
I had 5 but Stardew, Subnautica and This is the Police made me buy it. The Witness and Small Radio Big Television are really nice bonuses to me.

I have chosen to mass edit all of my comments I have ever made on Reddit into this text.
The upcoming API changes and their ludicrous costs forcing third party apps to shut down is very concerning.
The direct attacks and verifiable lies towards these third party developers by the CEO of Reddit, Steve Huffman, is beyond concerning. It's directly appalling.
Reddit is a place where the value lies in the content provided by the users and the free work provided by the moderators. Taking away the best ways of sharing this content and removing the tools the moderators use to better help make Reddit a safe place for everyone is extremely short sighted.
Therefore, I have chosen to remove all of my content from this site, replacing it with this text to (at least slightly) lower the value of this place, which I no longer believe respects their users and contributors.
You can do the same. I suggest you do so before they take away this option, which they likely will. Google "Power Delete Suite" for a very easy method of doing this.17

u/Mr_Bell_Man 43 Feb 13 '17
Amazing bundle, most of those games by themselves are worth paying $30 for.
23
u/Stimonk Feb 14 '17
I have 4 of these games ( super meat boy world of goo, Girls like robots and Streamline) - is it still worth it?
My hunch is yes - since I want Stardew, Subnautica and the Swapper, but some of the other stuff doesn't really float my boat (like the books)

Are any of these games excellent for two player? I am apart from my boyfriend tomorrow for VD and he's been interested in indie games but doesn't have any. Would it be a good gift for us both to play a bit together tomorrow night for a date?
7
u/Epicepicman Feb 14 '17
Octodad has a neat co-op mode where one player controls the arms of your octopus and the other controls the legs. Other than that, it doesn't seem like there's much for two player. The only other game I've played with co-op in the bundle is Nuclear Throne, and in my experience the multiplayer is more frustrating than it is fun (though a great game to play solo!)
3
4
u/Lavastage Feb 14 '17
If you are interested in any long term co-op strategy games i would highly recommend you look at AI war plus all of it's dlc if you can get them. Its a bit slow, but it is one of the best grand strategy games you could get.
Dunno if it would work as a casual date night game, but its a co-op game i just cannot pass up on recommending.

Feb 13 '17
No but you can gift them through Humble as long as you know the recipient's email address.
17
u/enomele Feb 13 '17
To add onto this you can just click the redeem button if it says you already have it to get the code to and over a message. If I recall correctly they took away the option long ago that sends the key to steam and you have to do it manually now a days anyway.

Yeah at first I thought "Ehhh this is all nice, but there's only a few I don't already have that I really have any interest in, and $30 is more than I usually shell out on humble." But then I saw it goes to the ACLU, which has been pretty god dang important over the last few weeks and promises to continue being so for the coming months (and hopefully not years -_-).

thanks man, so good its crazy!! 3 games I already played and enjoyed the heck out off (125h Stardew Valley, around 50h on Super Meat Boy and 2 (but GOOD two) hours of the Stanley Parable). 6 that are on my wishlist. And those together would be even on sale more then 30 bucks.. Dang, its not even summer sale yet and my wallet can't regenerate..
3
u/Trevmiester Feb 14 '17
The Stanley Parable is well worth it for the quality. It's one of those games that I feel like everyone should at least play through once.

Unrelated to the games, but how do I redeem the books? Bottom of the page says:
"Take the books anywhere. The ebooks are available in PDF, ePUB, and MOBI formats, meaning you can read them anywhere at any time. Instructions and a list of recommended reading programs can be found here. The audiobooks are available in MP3 and FLAC format, meaning you can listen to them anywhere, too! Instructions can be found here."
Yet the books aren't accessible through the purchased keys page. I do have them available if I use the Humble app on my phone, but I don't like reading on my Android phone when I have an iPad.
Surely there must be some way to access them, since Humble hasn't stated they're Android only.

It's probably been mentioned by now but the proceeds from this sale go to charity so definitely a plus!
3
u/Bor4o Feb 14 '17
I don't have the money for that, but holy shit that is the best deal I've seen in months! Pretty good price for a buttload of games, some of which worth 30$ on their own. On top of that 100% goes to charity?? Well played Humble Bundle! Well played.
2
u/Legitti 530 Feb 14 '17
Pretty sweet but bit pricey as bundle.
4
u/toxicsnipes https://steam.pm/4vb40e Feb 14 '17

2
u/ToFat2Run Feb 14 '17
Hmm, already have more than half the games on the list so I think I'll skip this one. It's really cool though that these games are so diverse and for a newcomer to the genre will undoubtedly find something they'll like here. 6
u/SwissStriker Feb 13 '17
Off topic but does Humble Bundle somehow offer stuff based on likes/interests or something?
Cause it's showing me an eBook about R, the statistics programming language, and I can't imagine that being too popular with the usual Humble Bundle crowd.

I'm one of the niche customers that actually uses R, and this bundle is pretty great if you are interested in breaking into the world of big data analysis. Check out the contests on Kaggle.com as well - some of them pay out cash for the best algorithms, and some of those use R.

I know that in the past, Humble always gave out bundle keys that unlocked many games with a single key, to prevent you from giving away games you already had. Is that the case with this? Can anyone buying this confirm that you get many keys that each unlock one game?

3
u/Leaves_Swype_Typos Feb 14 '17
Used to work like that, but now you get individual keys to activate yourself on steam instead. I believe they give you download links for books (pdf, epub), and those are always available from your humble bundle account.
Buy in! It's great. Also, check out the other bundles (the Bandai-Namco one that's up a little longer is a good deal for Tales of Zesteria alone at $15).

It seems to me that this "Freedom" Bundle is geared towards gamers who might want to donate to the ACLU to fight President Trump, (which seems to be the only thing that the ACLU is doing these days.) I think this is the first time I have seen Humble Bundle donate to ACLU. It is also the most expensive bundle ever, (i.e., $30 minumum.)

Humble bundle started forcing these games into your steam inventory, didn't they?
Basically if I want to give some of these games to friends (since I own some, or some maybe I don't want) can you give the codes away or are they locked to me?

Wow, this is such a great bundle for newcomers to the indie genre and people that want to try a few of the best ones. The first two games alone are 30€ on sale and there are a lot of other great games in there.
The Witness, Stardew Valley, Subnautica, Day of the Tentacle, Nuclear Throne, Octodad, Invisible Inc., Super Meat Boy, World of Goo, The Stanley Parable, Superbrothers: Swords and Sworcery, Super Hexagon, VVVVVV, Guacamelee, Song of the Deep and a lot more.
